Their father sure as hell indirectly killed his sons. His narcissism, his selfishness, and his obsessive need to have his own successes fulfilled vicariously through his sons destroyed them. He put that way of thinking into their heads of having to be the best and only being meant for wrestling when there were always other options for them. He never cared about what THEY wanted for themselves. Kerry could’ve continued in the industry without having to wrestle, if that’s what he even wanted, and could’ve had a fulfilling life; Mike should’ve never been forced to do something he didn’t want to do in order to make up for Kerry not being able to; David should’ve prioritized his health before any match, but he was taught by his dad that he couldn’t be weak and winning was more important. These were all products of their father’s ego. It was always about him and his lust for fame and success. He was their curse.
“THIS IS SOME BULLSHIT” ong tho it’s a heartbreaking story. They kept out another suicide of the other Von Erich cause three in the film would have been absolutely insane
There were actually 6 brothers.. jack died at age 6 by drowning in a melted snow puddle.. 3 killed themselves, 1 died of intestinal rupture, only one living is kevin....
I remember reading about how they had no space for it and couldn’t add a 3rd suicide would be to unbelievable for the viewers. Unfortunately it did happen.
@@hellahighjavi7276Decided make it like he never existed as a wrestling fan. That is disgusting. Here’s what they could’ve done. I could’ve said Chris debuted and wrestling never was never was going to make it and he just decided to kill himself after he lost his butter. They didn’t even have to show him doing it. They could’ve just said he did it, but they could’ve knowledge Chris! Mike and Chris was very different! Mike was 6 foot two he was just skinny!
It is good to see a reaction that doesn't go too hard on the Ric Flair actor! I think he did ok, but a lot of people completely rip it to shreds! XD As for choosing not to show certain things, I think they didn't show David because the movie is generally from Kevin's perspective, and being given the news out of nowhere that your brother has died is a very real experience. If they had showed it, it would have just been David flopping on his bed after eating steak and drinking and dying in his sleep. As for Kerry's accident, this was a low budget movie. I get that some may 'want' to see the accident, but I think they revealed the outcome of it in a pretty powerful way (the people in the cinema I was in that didn't know the story going in audibly gasped at that moment).
The Iron Claw takes place during the era of World Class Championship Wrestling. This was the territory of Fritz Von Erich and his sons. This was the era of Harley Race, Ric Flair, The Great Kabuki, Bruiser Brody, Kamala, The Missing Link and The Fabulous Freebirds. Rest in Peace Texas Tornado.
The crazy thing is, there was another brother that killed himself, shot himself in the head at the age of 21, he was completely cut out of the script because the director said it would just be too sad. The movie was already sad enough, and he didn’t think people could handle any more sadness, but yeah, there was another brother who killed himself.
GUYS pls take your camera and record a reaction to the highlights of yesterdays premier league game chelsea vs Man United!!! It was such a crazy game, try to not look at the score beforehand, trust me on this one
This sport is not my thing but my god this movie is good! It’s the dad that did that to their family, not the ring! I don’t like the dad, poor Kevin! Zac Efron is such a good actor! ❤️🔥🙌🏻
Zac Efron should’ve been nominated for his role in this movie idc
Insane that he was overlooked
@@AzulApe nominations and awards are all bullshit, its not really our opinion that decides anything in these award shows
“At least his dad’s not an asshole. You can tell he cares.” Oh man. This comment ages poorly as the movie goes along.
36:02 😂😂
I was like 😭😭😭 that man doesn’t care about nothing w/ his kids
He’s like the worst! I hate the dad! 🙄😡🤮
Hate the dad so much OMG!!!
The whole group should've reacted to this. Its such a great film
They could do it they did the train to busan the same them two then the everyone
In real life there was another brother that committed suicide too, that man had to bury 5 brothers😢
There was a fifth brother named Chris who also committed suicide. Doris divorced Fritz in ‘92. She died 7 or 8 years ago.
Man the very end “ well I guess it’s because I use to be a brother. And I’m not a brother anymore” gets me every time I miss you my boi

My mom said something very similar to this when we sat down to watch Iron Claw. Fritz had issues. I'm glad Dottie eventually left him.

It's a damn shame they didn't put the youngest brother, Chris, in the movie. For me, his death was the saddest one.😔
They didn't give a shit.

Everytime pat talk i cringe and say just keep watching😂. Thats the hardest part about this movie. Once it gets going its tragedy after tragedy
I was like “so who’s gonna tell him” 😂 unless you already know the story u couldn’t possibly be ready to watch a real life story like this. Tragic.
Grew up with Von Erich in Louisiana and they were the best. Such a tragic story
Their Dad was their curse that passed on that generational trauma, or "mental illness"
zach shouldve been nominated for this film and Charlie St cloud

There was also one more brother that took his own life but the director said there was already so much saddess he couldn't add anymore.
Yo y’all gotta hop on The Bear! The brother who lost his leg plays the main character. He and the show won hella awards
I was not prepared to watch this movie. The fact that this really happened is unbelievable. I’ve never heard of a life story like this ever. Crazy.
The Iron Claw is actually a very painful finisher, what you do to your opponent is you squeeze the temples of your opponent.
