I feel like the US always ignore people in the middle, it's always about the far left or far right. Why does no one mention being in the middle?

Because we’re quiet. Make noise and I get thrown to one side or another.
There’s not much of a middle anymore, since it’s really hard to NOT lean one direction or another on topics like, you know, “Should literal Nazis be voted into office?”. You don’t have to fall into extremes to still be on the side of a fence.
It's because everybody loves to villainize the other. Centerists don't really have anything that would villainize them, so we tend to get ignored
I get that too! I have some Liberal views and some conservative views and as soon as i say something like "the market should be capitalist" im instantly grouped with the conservatives, even though i support things like the lgbt movement. So at this point, they wont let there be a middle.

@Mrs Edna Welthorpe te partys where quite different back then the Democrats where the ones (for the most part) that supported the south while the Republicans where suppoting the union it is somewhat swtched now because the Democrats mostly support the different rases and they think Republicans dont (which is wrong because 99.99% do) but it is jsut different times and people dont get it....

Edit: Sense so many people are bringing this up I thought I’d address it. I’m not saying history isn’t important. It’s very important, and without it we wouldn’t be where we are today. However, in the context of an argument, I think it’s dumb to go, “well you did this in your past so hah”. I may not have worded it so well but that’s what I meant.

However, given his hatred of POC, I’d say he would probably be against the Black Lives Matter movement, and would be against raising awareness for the poor treatment of Native people. So yes, he was not quite a model democrat😅

I think the problem with 2 party systems is that it causes people to perceive political views as binary, good or bad. We can become inclined to treat each other as enemies. In order to be truly rational we must practice critical thinking non-stop.
I disagree.
Critical thinking takes a lot of energy and most poor people don't have the money to afford nutritious food to support such faculties. Even if you have money, finding good food is hard in the US. Do people even consider that or repeat the same useless "advice" to just think critically.

well the issue with politics is unless we live in a monarchy and you are the monarch just being an independent thinker is probably not a good way to enact any sort of change in society. you have to form coalitions with morally like minded people or with people that share common political goals.

It doesn't matter which side you are on, you are a great person in most every way. A lot of people see politics and world leaders in different ways. I seem to be the only person in existence who supported the decisions of the president before they blew up. Anyway, all presidents are good in some ways, and bad in other ways. Both sides should be respected honestly. I won't get angry at you if you are conservative as long as you can agree with some of the things I say about politics. I might as well be a voice for leftists who are believed to not exist. We exist, and we are proud to be Americans.

Conservatives tend to be driven by experience and liberals by idealisms. Both are CRUCIAL. They are entwined with in all people, but people display attributes like the Purdue formula.

The great thing about politics in my opinion is that we should have an open dialogue and critique each policy, not argue. I’m on the Conservative side, but it doesn’t mean I shouldn’t listen to opposing opinions because they’re all valid in discussion. Also can we all just appreciate that this video uses factual information and lacks bias, therefore including both sides of the argument.
Such as Trump illegally trying the overturn the results of the 2020 election and January 6th being a blatant attack on our country's democracy (one that the Republican party is complicit in by continuing to support Trump)?

What I don't understand is the extreme identity politics.
I'm a liberal but find myself agreeing with conservatives on certain issues or circumstances. That doesn't mean I'm not a liberal it just means I'm open to both sides (and just so happen to agree with liberals more).
Politics is too linear here. It's like if your party says it you have to agree or your not a real liberal/republican.
People should stand by their beliefs but be open to others too and not mindlessly pledge eternal allegiance to any one party
The problem with a two party system is that neither party may have your true interests in mind. Political candidates should promote themselves on a spectrum rather than just right and left.

There is only one issue with this.
America's democracy is a broken two-party-system.
It didn't used to be this way, wasn't even supposed to be this way... But parties rose up to identify core beliefs. Now it's a what you must believe in or your the enemy
If you don't have a two party system the president would only get elected by 20% of the population.
A one party system would be broken.
One party having the controlling power in all 3 branches of government does not make it one party. They just did a better job or convinced the most people they do a better job. A deep state using government power for political purposes like spying on opponents is corruption at the highest levels.

I could never hate someone based on their political party. If you’re a conservative, that’s fine! That doesn’t mean I won’t listen to you! And if you are a liberal, that’s fine too! Everyone deserves the right to share how they feel or what they think, ya know unless it’s something morally obscene.
When one side takes away a woman's right to choose, gerrymanders to suppress minority votes, attempted to actively override democracy, is openly hateful towards the lgbt community, and favors billionaires over the common man I don't think it's necessary to be charitable towards conservatives. They objectively suck. Corporate democrats are somewhat less bad and progressives are much better.

I stick to my own personal beliefs and will NEVER be stuck to the confines of any political party or related group. To put it one way, I agree alot with the observations George Carlin had about humans. I don't worship him, but he happened to be a guy I agree with very much of his observations and what he said except for a few things here and there. Very blunt and to the point he was, and that's how I have always been before I ever heard of Carlin.
Emily DeNyse it’s smart to be independent. I’m a huge conservative but I’m no trump fan. I agree with some policy’s but on the other hand I agree with some liberal policies. I can’t stand most liberal politicians but I can come to an agreement with some. Being independent is the best route don’t support 1 side, don’t support any side.
