I'm just starting airbrushing and am painting a rainbow trout. this particular trout has with many, many uneven fine spots on it. Naturally I was practicing dots before I begin and had many of the same issues that you were having in this video. In addition, the tip drying was a constant problem. However, after watching you, I know what to expect and I'm just going to have to go slow and be patient. Also I wanted to pass along a tip that I came across on a fish painting forum. Along with thinning the acrylic paint, one person advocated the use of a tiny bit of retarder to help reduce tip drying. I'm going to try that method on my next practice session. Anyway, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
In my case it was due to the paint being a little thin and I was too heavy handed lol...should have done a warm up first 🤔 but also thought it would be great to include some stuff ups 👍🏻 if you play around with the psi ie..turn it down it will help but it could cause more tip dry so you have to find that happy medium 😉
Great video! I was getting the splattering because l didn't know to keep the air flowing all the time. Thanks for the info.

✌🏻😎🏴would the dots stop spreading out if you turn down psi?

What psi do you recommend for brushing dots?
Would I get the same results with a needle cap?
Yes, you can it’s just easier if you have it removed, some brands have ‘paint picker’ caps which allows you to swap and expose the needle 👍🏻
Practice practice practice!
Yes mate totally...and these exercises are SO important in order to be able to achieve any great result within an artwork . 👍🏻
