Thank you for posting this. It helped solve a huge problem of a stage projector that was not filling enough space. The images are slightly blurry, but from the audience you can't really tell. Your method really did the trick. Thanks again.
What a great idea, I had just purchased a 6000 lumen projector and was going to invest in a short throw projector. I happen to have some lenses , tried it and my problem is solved. Thanks!
What lense worked the best?
Also curious about which lense worked best.
I use my projector with a piece of acrylic mirror I have the projector facing away from the screen it project's onto the mirror and then you can tilt the angle and you can change the mirroring left right in the settings of the projector it gave me a bigger image for the distance projected which looks great and I only have a cheap Chinese CRE N1500 projector ! 👍✌️🇬🇧
Great video Sir, I just ordered my lens for my projector. I'll give you an updated, thanks
A facinating video but at 63" away from the screen you appear to just be making a bigger image at 63" away from the screen which I wonder if this can be considered a short throw projector? or have I missed something.....I mean what size image are you getting at 12 or 15 inches from the screen?.
Did you try using a macro add on lens...
What if you don’t have corner keystone?
Very clever, and I love your lens mount! The pincushion distortion is inherent in the use of a wide angle add-on lens, but it's really not objectionable considering the convenience. All in all, a great idea, executed beautifully.
I absolutely love your insight and help with all of this! ❤❤
Like, but did you try to use high quality lense to get rid of distortion?
very nice man... awesome.. keep it coming !
Wouldn't it be easier to align them if you mounted the lens holder and the projector on the same base?
be easier to just buy a short throw
This is very cool. I wonder if flipping the lens around might eliminate the curving distortion? Thanks for the video.
It would create a convex distortion and make the image smaller
Hi Tim is there any other way to set the lens up near the projecter I'm over sees just wonderd i own a budget eug 4400 projecter if you could give me some advice would be great full with the same lens your yousing I've got a small modest. living room
Hi Tim can you fix the lens with blue tak are stand it on a a tube or role thanks
Thank you! I will buy a lens holder. can you also help me out to create a 180 degrees lens?
awesome you should make more for different projectors or styles
What was the actual brightness gain accomplished by using the lens compared to moving the projector farther back to achieve the same screen size without the extra lens?
Great video! Thanks!
Hi Tim I purchase a lender from you
But I Am struggling to find a lens holder in Australia. Please let me know if you are able to help
Hi, how you make it perfectly in focus? I buy similar lens and it's work - image is bigger (around 100-110 inch without lens and around 140-150 inch with it). I can make image perfectly focused on the center, but it's blurry on the edges, and if I try to focus on one of the sides it's unfocused on the other. How to make it focused both on the center and the edges?
Only solution is to have a curved screen with "belly" in the center in this case. This way you will have good focus and straight picture
Hi were can I get the adapter from iv orders the lens or if I could by one off you via amazon
Hello, do you plan to have any more of the lens holders for sale?
Hi I made another one and listed on eBay www.ebay.com/itm/184984324490
@@Running1226 Haha. That went quick. I didn't even see your response.
Hi I made another one for sale www.ebay.com/itm/184994929888
Where can I download the horizontal and vertical lines image
Thanks for the video great advice
Thanks for the guidance :) you are amazing. :)
I have a projector of 1m as minimum focal length. I want to convert it to a short throw projector and project it to a screen inside 0.8m approximately. Will I be able to attain the focal length of 0.8m using this lens?
I have the same question
Thank you.... Thats very solutive video!
some SMART short throw projectors use a small mirror in front of the lens. My Hitachi ultra short throw projector uses a small curved mirror in front of the lens. Multiple companies use a mirror to create a short throw and ultra short throw image reflect the image. So I'm a little confused as why you state you would need a large mirror.
Hello, do you still sell the lense holders?
Great idea!
What a great idea
hello!! is the file to 3d print still available?? or would you ever post more on ebay? this is the best solution i’ve ever seen for this

How could I purchase this item?
Hi I just made another one listed on eBay for sale: www.ebay.com/itm/185171943177
is there a reason you only send to the US? desperate for this
Shipping is too expensive for sending to outside of the US.
Can you build one that can fit one on top of the other? Ex. I want to turn the 10000 lumen set up into a throw projector Like this one. I'll need the after that you built to be abut to stack on top of each other.
Let me think about the design.
can you use lenses from an old rear projection TV?
i have like 6 of them in the basement some place i took out of old rear projection CRT projection TV's
nope didn't work
do you know if it is at all possible with any projector to get 4x6' projection with only 6 1/2 feet of throw distance?
Andrea - may be a little late but you may also try using a mirror. I just saw a video about that before landing on this vid... the upshot is you get a mirror, point your projector at it and let the reflected image show on your projector screen. You just have to set it to mirror image and mess with the keystones.
Hi Tim, what lense did you use?
58MM 0.43x Wide Angle Lens: amzn.to/2vOO9fb
Tim, are you able to make more lens holders for sale??
Hi I just now listed few on eBay www.ebay.com/itm/183310255606
Thanks so much Tim! I just purchased one and may be back for a couple more. I'm going to try EP for the first time in our large worship center. Now on to purchase projectors. Any new suggestions for me re projectors? I've viewed your videos. Awesome job and help!!! Thanks again!!
Hi Tim. We are an amateur theatre company presenting a musical production later this year using projections. Your advice in this video was very helpful in sorting out our projection plans and we are using the lens you recommended which work well.. Much thanks for this advice. The company would like to purchase 4 of the lens holders for use in the show. Is that possible?
I am making more lens holder by end of next week. I will post the eBay link.
Thanks Tim
I made 6 more and posted on eBay

Do you have more 3D Printed Lens Holders?

Hi...where can i get The lens ...please
Hi you can get the lens on Amazon amzn.to/2vOO9fb
Can this work on on optoma projctor
Yes for a standard projector. It will not work for "short throw" projector.
Hi. Do you still have the rigs for the lense? I'd love two. Please let me know.
Hi I just listed one for sell on eBay www.ebay.com/itm/184396994697
You can just use big mirror , so simple.
Project the screen to the mirror and than back to wall.
You can even move away your projector from mirror so u get much bigger screen with no loose quality.
Lens suck and u loos picture quality.
could just use mirrors to make this too
yes, it's much better and easier.
you just need good quality surface mirror.
iv'e got mine for $40 (50cmx50cm) and got 50% more screeen size.
Yes please I want to make one
Hi I have posted some on eBay www.ebay.com/itm/183788920025
Are you still selling these Tim? Nothing on ebay
This is the correct link www.ebay.com/itm/183727277964
@@Running1226 Thanks for that Tim, I'll be ordering that
I keep seeing similar videos to say you can only use it for 2.39:1 widescreen, is that correct?
I used on 16:9 screen and 4:3 screens before.
You need another lens on top to remove the wide angle but, you lose a bit of quality.
Just what I was looking for. Can you please elaborate a bit more? Thanks!
looking to get 3 of these made! please message me asap! ( 3d printed lens holder)
I am making them now. Will list them on eBay in two days.
Hi, I have now listed three for sale on eBay www.ebay.com/itm/183788920025
Its OK. But something should be done to transform normal projector into ultra short throw projector.
How much do you charge for the rigs?
Hi, I posted one for sell www.ebay.com/itm/182740056600
I was wondering if you could make a quad(4) adapter to match the 20000 lumens device that you built in the other video. And How much would such an item cost
Hi. stacking 4 projectors on top of each other will be very heavy about 50 lbs or more. Alignment is not easy for 4 projectors. You could order parts online or find them in local stores. Just get long threaded rods 24 inches to stack 4 projectors. This video kind the show you how to build it. ruclips.net/video/23x8pTTmO-U/видео.html
Four 1/2-13 threaded Rod 12 inches
amzn.to/2gWC9Qg
Sixteen ½-13 hex nuts
amzn.to/2tIrn5D
Sixteen ½ inch washers
amzn.to/2gUzydl
12X48 Black Shelf board (I cut into two 12X20 pieces)
amzn.to/2fdlKHl
Could you post one on eBay again?
No. Just no
Do you have more 3D Printed Lens Holders?
Yes I just listed few more for sell in eBay www.ebay.com/itm/183457466416
