Can't believe David Vincent isn't in Morbid Angel anymore, he's definitely my favorite vocalist from this band. I think it's the unique voice, rare to hear a death metal singer who is so audible with the lyrics and also melodic.

And Dave contributed a lot more than you give him credit for. Trey did the riffs, but you can tell Dave did came up with the melody parts to go with the lyrics. Morbid's music is still technically amazing without Dave, but the songs completely lack any catchiness to them. Dave made those songs memorable. I find Steve's album's unmemorable. Dave's new band Vltimas is better than the last Morbid Angel album. Even a guy who loves Formulas Fatal to the Flesh told me it was forgettable.
Most brilliant live footage I've seen in a while, flawless mix. Absolutely Loved that snare echo, a lot more bands should do that....Theatrics is such a big part of music....that live atmosphere and dynamic needs to make a come back.

It does my head in nowadays when I go to see one of the classic death metal bands from the late 80s early 90s, basically as long as they have two original members in the band they use the name it crap I'd prefer them to use the band name but actually say featuring Such and such on the guitars, or with our new guitarist and drummer.

Scorched Earth Tony Norman has been the only one who was been in the same tone and level of Erik Rutan, anyways Erik Rutan is a great guitar player, his tone is so fucking bad ass and his soling is melodic and organized but at the same time brutal. This guitar player of this lineup of Morbid, he is lower level, just check how he plays his part of his solos of other songs, he doesnt do it, he just plays with the wammy bar. The second guitar player in his solos in Morbid Angel was always the melodic guy, Trey is the chaos tapping wah wah wammy bar madness but Erik was the melodic organized soling guy.

Domination is a masterpiece. The use of counterpoint and the chaotic solos into melodic trading off. Eric will always be the best compliment to Trey.
