    I would not be upset to see the Steelers draft Cousins, I think they're probably going to bring back Mason though. There's just been a lot of quiet but positive talk about the guy and wanting to bring him back. It wouldn't make sense to bring back him and sign a big name outsider when you've still got a 1st round pick on his 3rd year in the room. They don't have to feel compelled to start Kenny but no organization is gonna put a 1st round qb as their 3rd string in his 3rd season. Maybe 4th or 5th if they feel they made the mistake too. I doubt they trade him.

    I do like the hire, even though anyone would be an upgrade over Canada. I disagree with you on only 1 point, Cousins. Sure, he could get us in the playoffs, provided he is 100% healthy, but this team needs better than that. I'd rather roll the dice with KP8 or Rudolph. KP8 played exactly 5 quarters without being under Canada's thumb. He desperately has to get rid of his 'happy feet', otherwise he deserves another look. We already know what we can expect from Rudolph, who is at the very least, as competent as Cousins and is much younger.

    To be fair, when the Steelers went to the quick pass offense, it was completely out of necessity. The o line was historically bad causing no run game & less than 2 seconds on average before there was pressure. No chance for 5 or 7 step drops & let routes develop downfield (or even intermediate for that matter)

      That's not what he said. He said as of ririgt now Pickett is the starter. And since the only qbs on the roster are Kenny and mitch, who else is he going to sat is the starter? He also said there would be competition at qb next year.

      @@davidoliver62 The only definitive thing he said was the starter is on the roster.
      I was addressing all this worthless speculation about Tannehill, Fields, Wilson and Cousins. I wasn't talking about KP being QB1.
      Here is what was said exactly at the end of season press conference.
      He was asked "Do you believe next year's QB is currently on your roster?" Tomlin's answer was simply "Yes".
      He was also asked earlier "Will Kenny resume his QB1 status?" Coach T's answer "You know, he will, BUT obviously there will be competition. There's always competition in this thing. We don't anoint anyone."

      You gotta give the man a chance at least. He failed 3 years in a row as a head coach for a bum ass organization, the falcons were not good before he got there so their problems run deeper than him. He will not have head coach responsibilities with the Steelers, he will have OC responsibilities. As an OC he was great, had the titans in the AFC championship game and the #1 seed in his two years there. You can say it’s because he had good players but he utilized those players properly, he’s got good players in Pittsburgh as well. And the titans were nothing special before he became OC, then we’re really good for those 2 years and immediately went back to being mediocre after he left, I say that because people say it was the players he had, players don’t just become great for two random years and then fall off all on their own.

    • @barrettanderson2781
      @barrettanderson2781 4 месяца назад

      Tanking never gets you better in the long run. You lose the culture of winning and it takes a while to get that back. No team has tanked and flipped their win rate in the modern era.
