Watch the video of Justin Fields against the Atlanta Falcons (Arthur Smith) last year. His accuracy is NOT an issue. Why did DJ Moore want him as QB this year in Chicago? Why did Justin Jefferson want him in Minnesota this year?

Fields was very accurate for us - that was never the issue. He had no time, horrible line, no weapons and he was not coached right. If anything he was overcoached, in his head - overthinking it, got beat up so much that he was gun shy -- which led to the misplaced argument that he was not always seeing the field quickly. What you see now is him working his way through a new system/with new players/with new techniques that he is working on. You will see a different player once it all clicks in and he starts playing free.

While reporters, report half news or simply don't express enough of what contribute to a kink in a man's armor is alarming. Its imperative to keep in mind it's simply their thoughts we're listening too, which is always skewed. In Justin Fields three years under center, Fields had two head coaches, two different offensive coordinators, and two general managers. Fields' record is skewed due to the Bears choosing to rebuild in 2022, ending with a 3-14 season. Not having proper protection up front with only two targets at wide receiver and tight-end. As an athlete (not a Steelers fan who watches from the couch prospective and might have never played the game before and want Mike Tomlin fired because Pittsburgh hasn't won a playoff game, yet no losing season under him), Fields desired to come to the 'Burgh to play for him as does overwhelmingly most athletes do. There's a reason why. This will make his THIRD head Coach, Offensive Coordinator and Front line protection group that's also young and must learn how to gel together. Most, if not all the haters wouldn't make it a season in the league that calls for instant success nowadays instead of sitting behind a vet. It's difficult listening to nonsense from supposed reporters who give more opinions as if they can see the future verses reporting.😂😂

Not in anyone’s wildest dreams is Fields better than Russ, and if he were better than Russ, Chicago wouldn’t have moved off of him.
Teams typically move off older players mostly for financial or political reasons, unless a guy is completely washed like Matt Ryan was. Russ is far from washed, and he proved that in 2023. He still has a lot of championship level football left in him.
Teams move off younger guys because the younger guy isn’t getting the job done!
Remember that. Furthermore, Fields hasn’t done a single thing to demonstrate that he’s even franchise QB material, let alone good enough to unseat a guy like Russ.
*Justin Fields’s 3-Year Career Stats (advantaged metrics in boldface*

*Career 4th quarter passer rating: 104* (vs. 53)
Fields has a slight advantage in rushing. Russ is superior in every other department. That small rushing advantage isn’t nearly enough to compensate for Russ’s superiority as a passer, especially if we discuss 4th quarter metrics.
If wediscount Russ’s Denver years, Russ’s 3-year average stats would be better than Fields’s by an even larger margin, even if we include two injury years in Seattle (2016 and 2021) that produced outlier statistics.
While both take a lot of sacks, Russ has taken them due to bad/inconsistent O-Lines and pure stubbornness on his part. Fields takes them more because he isn’t a great reader of defenses. His O-Lines have been better than Russ’s.

Russ doesn’t mind competition. Look at the moves he’s made:
Went to Denver in part because he wanted to face Mahomes, Herbert, and Carr.
Now, he comes to Pittsburgh because she’s he wants to play for a city where some people think he isn’t a fit, and go up against Burrow, LJ, and DWat!
Not only did he sign with Pittsburgh, he welcomed the opportunity to compete with Pickett, and when Pickett left, was ecstatic that Fields was signed!
Russ is better when he’s under greater pressure. That’s a pattern with him. He’s that rare breed of athlete who actually needs it, like Michael Jordan.
I’m not saying he’s exactly like MJ, but the two have that in common. Russ almost seems to let up when the competition and pressure is low. It’s like he gets off on the pressure. I mean that literally. He is a better QB in situations in which other QBs wouldn’t be.
I’ve watched him his entire career, and I’ve noticed that. Never seen anything like it.

Btw, the Steelers are a win-now team. They need a win-now QB. That’s Russ, and Russ can be the dude for the next 4-5 years. Thats a whole future. The future doesn’t have to be a decade; 4-5 years is an entire college career. It’s a long time.

According to Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo, Fields was inconsistent when throwing the ball during organized team activities and minicamp. Recently appearing on Press Coverage on SiriusXM NFL Radio, he spoke about the state of the Steelers and the QB battle.
"Fields, from what I've seen, they had a month of spring practices and he's a terrific athlete, but really the knocks against him that I heard coming in actually turned out to be true," Fittipaldo said. "He's not terribly accurate with the ball. His placement isn't all the great, and I could see them maybe having a package or two for him each week depending on the opponent, but I see this team as Russell Wilson's team."

The system was the problem for Justin, even Tampa Bay had to go to the New England playbook for the Goat Tom Brady. The system can make or break a QB's career especially when a QB is developing in a rebuild ex; Fields.
