Glad I switched to stamp collecting. The hobby of coins these days seems to be bitching about third party grades. 95% of my stamps cost less than the cost of submitting a coin for grading.
I am sure you were pleased with CAC's results. The Green Bean is a proud badge to have on a graded coin. Have your coins graded and priced by CAC. PRICLESS!!!! Thank you for sharing.
Amazing that CAC actually think a coin is worth $1000 more just because it’s in there holder , it’s great there is a new grading company but seriously $1000 more because they graded it 😂 . Good video, very interesting 👍
honestly i think Anacs is the sleeper grading company. their grading is just as good as anyone elses their slabs are the best for collectors in reality. their prices are the best. and some day people are going to stop assuming a premium for CACG... the only reason Cac even exists is because people found PCGS to be unfair... after a while people will find CAC unfair as well. i'm telling you in 10 years everyone will be submitting to anacs
I know many people who are cracking details cac coins out and sending them back to pcgs or ngc for a straight grade and a nice profit. CACG has a bit of a flawed business model right now as i dont see their coins fetching higher prices than pcgs.
9:00 Yes, I do also like the toning on that coin too. IMOP the silver toning helps to prove it's real too. 14:55 Is another great toning coin too. Very nice! I like them. Ya, it looks real for sure. 15:56 The same too.
Thanks for the video, because of the price of gold, I picked up a couple of 1893 MS62 $10 Liberty Gold Liberty Coins for $1204 each. Better deals on Pre-33s right now.
I am lucky enough to be local to their grading facility. I was approved for a membership and I hope to put in my first submission in person In the next few weeks.
7:05 looks like the toning came back and that's probably why they called it cleaned. Most roll untouched coins that have been handled are usually dark dark chocolate
This is what a lot people don't get that the green bean just agrees with the grade and the gold bean is a grade higher. The green does not give it a higher grade. Alot of people been saying that and it's not true. But great coins man
@@CoinCollecter-uh1uw people love having others state the value of their things, in the 80s I dealt comics and would get people saying I was wrong for wanting more than the price guide rates- a guide is a guide and go find it elsewhere if you don't like it. I’m not very experienced with old copper, but the color on that half cent was definitely off. I agree with you on the 21 Peace. Doesn’t look cleaned. Circulated coins are going to have hairlines.
I have a 1921 peace dollar from looking at PCGS photo grade it looks like a 45 but when looking at coins on eBay and that are already graded I seen coins as high as 55 that looked very very similar to the one I have
💯 on the grading . Super nice showcase of submissions. Curiosity is getting me but is that a coin ring your wearing on the right hand ??? If so what coin did you have made into a ring ?. Thx. Spectacular.
No thanks to the relatively new CAC grading gimmick. Think about it - if one wishes to promote the growth of a new grading company - the number one thing to do is to have the public "believe" its company EXCELS in the function of grading! Do we really believe that a longtime established company like PCGS (NOTE: I have absolutely no connection to PCGS; finacial or otherwise) doesn't maintain the highest standards for grading expertise? Nevertheless, this is not to say that CAC is anything other than being a reputable company in all aspects. There is nothing wrong with the existance of competitive businesses. The choice is up to the customer.
I believe the half cent was called cleaned because the bright spots is showing the cleaning and the color is not natural and it retoned to a darker darker color. Definitely a very old cleaning that has retoned.
Excellent experience on this video because I've been wondering about CAC but still I have a bunch of MS coins to grade but the buying a plan kills Me and can't in any way pay that much to do it. And for real None of the grading services are cheap at all, way out of control on the prices and have to pay for the grade tooo that just blows my mind you would think they would be more reasonable for more clients but that's just my opinion.... If I had a business like that I would make it a lot more cost effective than paying out the wazoo for something you may only use a time or two a year.... Cheaper brings more business that means More in your pocket than More out of Your Pockets. Must not need the money to awful bad!!!! Rich people don't care about price because they always say they got a deal but us poor folks suffer from it....
Personally I like NGC but I do have some pcgs in the old holders. I have heard alot of coin dealers that don't like the new cac grading service. All of them agree though that people pay a little more for the green bean.
I went with PCGS because of CAC's pro rated bs. I had 4 coins to grade...I would have paid $60 and only got $25 worth of vouchers. PCGS was $149 but I got 4 free vouchers. Something CAC should fix but when I talked to them about it they acted like I was silly lol
I've been debating this very thing , I've always had others with memberships send in my coins but that's getting tougher to do so I thought I'd get my own. Bigger pain than I anticipated.
If they're claiming to have higher standards than the rest, then they should give a detail description on how they graded each coin. If a grading company isn't giving the customers the reason why the coin made the grade, then it's just based off of trust in the name of the company. I mean you can send your coins to me, and I can grade them, if I don't have to give any reason on why they are that grade lol.
CAC is brutal. They're trying to brand themselves as super conservative market makers. I don't want that. They'll take a 10k coin and turn it into a $200 coin. I want ACCURATE grading, and PCGS & NGC will do just fine.
a lot of the graders at cacg were employed at the beginning stages at pcgs and ngc when they were accurate graders. cacg is just trying to reestablish the grading market from grad inflation of the past 10 years or so.
Someone once told me that CAC does NOT like to grade toned coins - They consider then to have environmental damage - I do think the CAC graded coins will be a very good investment in the long term.
CAC (to me) has become a bragging brand name, I've heard collectors bragging they have so many cacs, another brags they have this many cacs, and so on. Interesting enough they were NOT bragging about their coins in the CAC slab..just the brand numbers. I personally feel the $ numbers are being artificially inflated in part because of this. Basically inflating to their benefit. You look through a Grey Sheet which shows seriously increased value on coins cac'ed. I'm not playing the game. I have CAC coins but I only paid what it would have normally been worth and the coin just happened to have been cac'ed . People always say buy the coin not the slab, now they want to reverse that, buy the slab first then the coin.
No offense but I have no clue how you didn't notice that last 1921 peace dollar was wiped. I spotted it the second you showed it from inside the bag. Either way, you did pretty good with the other submissions. I've seen CACG unboxings where people get 70% of their coins details graded for seemingly no reason. Thanks for the upload.
@Spegtacular I don't blame you, I may have done the same. TPGs used to be much less strict on hairlines. Glad you got good results from CACG. I'd love more grading videos.
WOW! CAC is in Virginia Beach .. just an hour or so up the road from me! Nice!! Congratulations, SpegTacular! Looking forward to seeing more of these! Take care, be safe and God bless!
No company will ever tell you why they give it a details grade. Because they are afraid that someone will call them out for being incorrect. I'm not saying they are incorrect. But I'm sure for many instances they don't want to called out, ruining their reputation, showing their incompetence. I'm absolutely not a fam of CAC grading. I think there's a lot of incompetent graders there based on the hundreds-thousands of coins I've seen in videos and in person.
CAC say bring it on ? What about there strict standards when they are making so many mistake putting coins in the wrong holders with the wrong years and wrong country’s to what the coins are actually from ? There are quite a few horror story’s of there epic mistakes 😂
Possibly the absence of cartwheel luster would cause them to call it "cleaned". I've heard CAC is a tough grader so, for now, I'm staying away from their service. That toning is amazing BTW. Great stuff, thanks Man.
What is the problem with them explaining how they grade the coins! everyone who makes products has to explain how the product is made and if they have it inspected and it passes you can get even more for the product! Giving people money for Grading and not asking them to explain the process that is unprofessional! what about ISO 2000 Your boat is ISO 2000 and it becomes worldwide!if the Grading was explained that could make the grade worldwide! See what I'm saying!
Glad I switched to stamp collecting. The hobby of coins these days seems to be bitching about third party grades. 95% of my stamps cost less than the cost of submitting a coin for grading.
but stamps are all almost worthless. Coin collecting has never been bigger and more explosive.

I'll stick to PCGS & NGC 👍
I am lucky enough to be local to their grading facility. I was approved for a membership and I hope to put in my first submission in person In the next few weeks.
Great video, explanation, & overview of the process and why it might matter to some collectors. Thank you for the effort.

@@GardenerEarthGuy 1, I don’t think cac should exist.

nice coins, thanks for the video.

Excellent video Soegs!
it's crazy that pcgs will not give FB to circulated mercury dimes but give FH to circulated standing liberty quarters.
That definitely seems inconsistent.
I hear the best way to cross over is to get them stickered first. Apparently CAC sticker is less strict.
Spegs, Great stuff! Time to invest in a 2024 Red Book! Happy 4th!!🎉
Have one ;) not a necessity when discussing classic coins as older versions will do just fine.

PCGS will put a FB designation on Mercury dimes as low as AU50 BTW.
Great gear!
AS someone mentioned, a coin can suffer an old cleaning and re-tone. Nice 95-S Morgan. Some nice coins in general.
💯 on the grading . Super nice showcase of submissions.

Hello SpegTacular
The half cent was cleaned. It had scratches on it

I’ve found CAC stacks with PCGS so long as you put it on the top 😎
Is that like saying a book stacks with all slabs as long as it’s on top?
I got a membership with them, but I have yet to submit anything for grading.
Personally I like NGC but I do have some pcgs in the old holders. I have heard alot of coin dealers that don't like the new cac grading service. All of them agree though that people pay a little more for the green bean.
If your cac is green something is wrong.
Think “Incredible Hulk”
where did you get the CAC price g book at?
I think it came with his submission results.

They have loose standards over MS-64. I'm not a huge fan of PCGS grades.
The 1/2 cent isn't cleaned. CAC's reasoning cannot be communicated because they likely have no reasoning.
if CACG is going to argue with your pricing then call their bluff.. tell them to keep it and send you the difference.
16d Merc will get a FB Under MS!! Just saying!! FYI !! Cheers JJ
I wish you had valued each of the coins when reviewing them.

Albanese had a hand in the start up of NGC and PCGS I heard
I would trade off the 1921 peace dollar on another 1921 peace dollar that would straight grade. That Coin will never go up in value.
Someone once told me that CAC does NOT like to grade toned coins - They consider then to have environmental damage - I do think the CAC graded coins will be a very good investment in the long term.
coppers have a habit of being cleaned in the past and then toning which is common. I suspect that was what happened with this coin.
