Warhammer 2 Imrik is OP!! Total War is a Perfectly balanced Game With No Exploits! Dragon Only Army

- The warden and paunch DLC released last week with fantastic success in bringing fun back to the greenskin factions. However the DLC saw yet another update to the elves making them yet again studpidly powerful. I am of course not talking about the new dlc legendary lord but instead the free bonus lord Imrik. He is the lord of dragons and thanks to the new updates the most powerful lord to mess about with. He can lead a dragon only army which is crazy op and able to melt just about all late game opposition by swarming them with fully upgraded monsters of fire who can solo armies by themselves. I love warhammer 2 total war and this dlc is everything I love in a grand strategy game. New armies new abilities and crazy overpowered new strategies and combos.
So sit back and watch as the spiffing brit tests to see if Total War Warhammer 2 is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits or if the overpowered dragons are broken!!
This video game exploit video will be jam packed with a best bits funny moments montage style of editing similar to that of Valefisk, Robbaz and RTgame. So sit back relax and grab a cup of tea to enjoy with the spiffing brit!

Title: Warhammer 2 Imrik is OP!! Total War is a Perfectly balanced Game With No Exploits! Dragon Only Army
#Funny #Exploit #TotalWar
Devs: "Look at our new DLC!"
Spiff: "Well,.. that's kinda garbage..
Also Spiff: *"But look at this **_free_** update!"*
Devs: "but, _nooo..."_
inb4 spiff is never given another press key from creative assembly :(
I have a sneaking suspicion that the conversation was more along the lines of "So what do you think?" "Well, I haven't found anything bad with the stuff you sent me the key for" "Phew!" "Yet! On another topic, the other stuff? Here's a few things you might want to look in to..." "What have we done?!"
To be fair, from the support perspective (past job) I'd prefer people found this sort of thing before it goes out to the world. Someone like Spiff needs to be on retainer to any serious developer as they are *guaranteed* to do something that wasn't expected. Give him all the keys, pay him a bounty for every exploit found, especially for multiplayer titles. Win/win for everyone.
This is the first time one of my comments has got a heart! Thanks!
ABSOLUTE CHAD MOVE.
It's actually tactical genius! By advertising a free feature instead of a paid one, Spiff potentially sells the game itself to more people! Upselling the DLC would at best just sell a DLC to some scrubs. They'd be fools not to give Spiff a 50% commission on every sale of Total Warhammer Deuce from the moment this video uploaded onwards.

Alith Anar's realm is technically the NE of Ulthuan though. He only fights in Naggaronds lands to prevent them invading Naggaryth. Which fails obviously since the game starts with the Scourge of Khayne owning his lands
New exploit for you Spiff: Checking the new "AI Control" button on reinforcements and unchecking the "Control Large Army" box means that the enemy cannot reinforce (capped to 20 units) but you still get your entire reinforcement stack, just with the reinforcements under AI control (it counts the AI reinforcements as a different faction). Basically a free lightning strike.
2 bad the AI is so dumb
They do reinforce, but it's actually worse for the AI because they send the replacement units to fight alone as they reach the battlefield.
If you do this as greenskins your waagh ability doesn't affect the reinforcing units. Only your original 20.
This is not in any way an exploit and if you want to classify it was that people have been using this one since the game came out so NEW dosnt really track there
@@zachcreaghcoen2389 Welp since the AI control button was added with the latest patch, it's technically a new exploit.

Elthorion is actually pretty great. He has his specific units which are a shoulder above everyone else, he can buff units with his capture ability and his faction is very well defended because of buffs and place in map.
is he better than dragon napalm though?
@@Wargulf2838 more certainly. Dragon spam can be done with every high elf faction and confederated legendary lord but Elthorion is unique. Also dragon breath is nightmare to micromanage, especially the angle of attack could be different between 50% kill to 5% kill.
Eltharion's buffs apply to Mistwalker units of the proper types, along with the Tor Yvresse buffs for those units, so at higher levels you can have an army with 18 of them, a mage, and then Eltharion.... it becomes literally unbeatable. They become like Lothern Sea Guard with double the range and missile damage on the level of Sisters of Avellorn. It's pretty wild honestly.
As for Grom, he suffers from the fact that the Greenskin roster is melee-based which suffers at higher difficulties. The AI gets too many bonuses in melee combat that they don't in ranged. But, his cooking mechanic has some wild options. Aside from campain bonuses which really do help, my favorite is actually... the one that makes EVERY goblin arrow explosive. EVERY SINGLE ONE. So your cheap unit of Gobbo archers can fire into a group of spearmen.... and every arrowhead explodes and deals splash damage. It's lovely.
Imrik is pretty great though, I shan't lie.
The real fun is when you give your Elves a Waugh.
And the spearmen bonus applies to their new unit whose name at the moment escapes me, the considerably better spearmen. I'm not sure if it might even apply to Lothern Sea Guard, haven't checked... I'm still of the opinion that Alith Anar is the most OP Elf though purely because of his blanket bonuses to all ranged infantry units, which are king in Warhammer campaign and especially for Elven factions.

Why? His current campaign has Imrik with all dragon army.
Dragons aren't great on Legendary Ultra size: they take a long damn time to chew through the enemy doomstacks.
Legend will have some words for this
Just a heads up @The Spiffing Brit i noticed you didnt go down the bottom tree of level ups on Imrik and i think that's a mistake, because you know how you got the dragons upkeep down to -75%. Well the bottom tree by investing 10 points, you can add an extra -23% upkeep to your entire army not just dragons, so in theory you can have you upkeep on the dragons in Imriks army at only 2% upkeep XD so good
Free dragon estate lol
just attach a noble with 15% upkeep trait to the army. Anyway it doesn't work on higher campaign difficult and there are better points to spend

LegendofTotalWar: Spiffing brit chose wrong faction to cheese with dragons!
He never said that.
Calador is actually the weakest high elf faction due to their start. Normal difficulty, all their campaigns are laughably easy but Imrik is the only one with gimped economy. By the time he gets all his dragons Alith Anar can own half the map
@@rockstar450 not weakest, but hardest to start. i played on very hard and there are the main imrik boi troubles:
1) rats at the beginning can send you back to campaign selector
2) some of your winning conditions provinces usually owned by grudgy santa and tyrion the unconfederable. that usually takes you to war w them and ORDERTIDE
Apart from that, pretty good elf campaign. And yes, Alith Anar is a f-ing scaven
Alexander Lisin i agree after the first 30 turns you’re only an alliance away from the dwarves away from winning, but Calador still remains the weakest faction. He gets a doomstack but they all can get a doomstack and can easily run x2 mid-tier stacks to take the whole map. Imrik doesn’t have trade or the economy. He’s still excellent but even Teclis and Eltharion have way better economies and can raise far deadlier stacks sooner.
You should do an archery one with the wood elves. Seriously OP…
I just finished making a cuppa tea when this uploaded. That timing was impeccable.
31:02 Spiff: "I find it more fun when there's a bit of a challenge."

i play imrik on legendary. he's my favorite ! dragons are great even on higher difficulty. it's more tricky than sisters of avelon , but it still works great.
I am struggling to defeat my first dragon even on normal. some assistance I will need
I find it amusing how Spiff is so proud of himself that he cheesed the lizardmen to sally out from their walled city and corner camped, while in fact assaulting the city would be much easier and cheesier.
This really brings to mind that phrase Shadiversity is ever so fond of:
"BUT WHAT ABOUT DRAGONS???"
"The Napalm. It's too much!"
No, Spiff. There's *never* 'too much' Napalm.
Spiff: Grom the paunch the greatest orc to ever live
Me looks at grimgor:
You best take that back friend
Grom isnt even an orc, he's a really fat goblin.
I just want to say that I noticed you used the cover of Warhammer: Battle March for the background on the thumbnail and I love it.
The Imrik Cheese here is honestly rather meh outside of easy. Yeah, dragon's are pretty solid, but by time you get them you can usually only afford a single stack, and the AI is throwing 4-5 full stacks at you a turn. far better using archer stacks for early game and shifting into Sister stack for the mid to late game - they are cheaper and just as effective allowing you to field more armies and better handle the multiple armies being thrown at you.
Oh, and regarding your "I need the spearmen and archers to anchor my dragons" you don't. Dismiss them, and recruit a life mage on a horse. There you go, that is your ground based anchor so you don't auto lose which can also heal your dragons thereby reducing your downtime between fights.
Had you done this video during the early access period, you could have broken the game in half with Grom and one of his food buffs that turned gobbo archers into 90 damage killing machines, but CA fixed that one prior to releasing the game.
And Eltharion has an ability that gives every unit in his army infinite ammo, which we still can't believe they actually gave him.
tbf, its only to eltharion, right? so it doesnt affect too much outside early/mid-game.
ikit have a way stronger infinite ammo with those ratling guns, that with some combos, you really only need them as anything else il be melted in 1 volley.
@@clairelili873 yeah, but Eltharion has access to one of the strongest missile infantry in the game with 200+ range and decent melee stats. As for Skavens, their military equipment had a chance of destroying itself during the process and killing its crew and I don't understand why CA hasn't implemented that mechanics since we had miscast chance.
What are you talking about? Elves can build up an insane economy with entrepreneur heroes and if you have dragon-willed lords and Hall of Dragons, dragons are basically free. You can easily field 10 armies of all dragons that only cost ~2000 gold each.
"That'll teach you for grouping up..." Never a truer or more timely phrase used ;)

Spiff: "It's warHammer Time"
Can't touch this
See my Imrik campaign so far has me fighting Druchii who own the entire map... it's me in the corner battling 4 armies to every 1 of mine. Rough part of the elvish roster is that they are pricey and the main income of High Elves is trade.... and I have no friends to trade with. Imrik is a beast but he can't be everywhere, especially when Chaos invasions are a thing
Main high elves income is taxes. Recruit a lot of mages with entrepreneur trait. They increase local tax rate by 15% and global tax rate by 3%. And it STACKS. Put 10 of them in a province and it's tax rate will be around 280% (100 basic + 150 local bonus + 30 global bonus). The only problem with it is that you need a tier 4 city to increase your capacity for mages. The income boost isn't that significant at first, but gets more and more powerful the more mages you recruit.
Max possible capacity for one hero type is 100. In theory, if you hire 100 mages with the entrepreneur trait and you put them all in one province the tax rate there will be 1900% and 300% in all your other provinces. What it means is that a single building that would normally make like 200 gold, can now make even 4000 gold.
In my campaign where I conquered the entire map as Avelorn, my income was over 600k per turn.

I'm just glad someone finally showed me the correct way to play this game.
How the f has Spiffing Brit not got the Queen and crone DLC and still be successful with the High elves. Sisters of Avelorn is quite possibly the best doomstack ever
PS Grom isn't an Orc, just a very fat Goblin
you do not need Sisters of Averlorn to win while yes they are powerul they are weak against monster doomstacks
Calen Clay not really, they shred most doomstacks. The only doomstacks they’d have trouble against is the lizard men, and the AI normally doesn’t make doomstacks per say.
Hey Spiff, I've got a new glitch for you to do a "Perfectly balanced game" video on for "Pathfinder, Wrath of the righteous"
Step 1: Play the game normally until you get Daeran the oracle in your party.
Step 2: Level up until he can get the "Life Link" ability.
Step 3: From that point on, he is immortal. Put a life link on every member of your party, and send Daeran in first in every fight to get the agro of all the enemies.
No matter how much damage he takes, he never goes below zero hit points, and simply won't go down. There are some ambush situations where this won't work, but for the really tough battles, in most cases, you can pick a character to go in first to get all the enemies to attack, and if it's Daeran, you win.
"These dragons are perfectly balanced"
> Lions have the most kills
Spiff you kill me on this single point.
Despite knowing exactly what is going on and what is gonna happen, you have such a tone of surprise and you make like there was no way you could have expected "that". Frikkin hilarious XD
Grom is not an orc, He's a goblin. And Eltharion is actually one of the best commanders in the game.
In the Grom the Paunch campaign there's a way using the right combination of upgrades and recipes to make your basic goblin archers do as much damage as Wood Elf Way Watchers. I think it was eagle talon ingredient, heavy ammo, and all the goblin research.
I like Spiff videos, but, honestly, he's not absolutely right, and this really looks like an exploit for those, who does not know the game. I had 120 turns as Imrik on very hard, yes Imrik's dragons are OP, but that's hard to survive at the beginning, and generally speaking having one beast army is not that important if you have to control large territory, there are also more details, but anyway video is nice
High elves in general are completely OP. Mist walker armies with eltharion are basically unbeatable.
You should try Eltharion, his buffs to his special mistwalker units are very powerful.
One of the units is essential better lothern sea guard on crack, with the range of artillery.
I saw a three of them delete a unit of chaos warriors in a single volley
"level 1 spearmen" "chumpy archers" he says about one of, if not the, best early game build for high elves in the campaign
remove the spearmen and it’s a better army
Imrik is probably the only lord to effortlessly get three of the four big ones; perfect vigor, unbreakable and regeneration. The only thing missing is hunger.
spiffing brit in TTW2: this is OP
me who plays on legendary/against other players: you poor innocent child
