    Just yesterday came upon your channel, and and am grateful fort the stylish inspiration. I do NOT dress and makeup a daily basis, not even on a once a week basis. However, Sunday mass is my must, for-dress day. I feel spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and even physically, more balanced when I put time in my dress, hair, and makeup, which is a wonderful, or ARE wonderful REASONS to put the time needed to achieve these ends. I believe I convince myself that these self care gestures are too laborious and not necessary for my well being/self care…when guide the opposite is true. The results of self care/well being actually out weigh ANY effort on my part. Thanks for this great video on how to achieve this, even for us, mature women, who have extra in certain parts of our body. It’s been enlightening to me and I’m motivated to start on a more balanced self care routine. Arms, or my wings, as I call them, are my biggest hurdle in dressing more stylishly. This isn’t so uncomfortable/hard in the winter, but come warmer temperatures and less clothing, I begin to freak! Any words of wisdom in this area. I notice you don’t seem to have this issue, but you may still have tips on how to style with arms in mind regardless if it is your issue or not! Thanks so much for your necessary, and relevant to me, content. Your method of presentation is calming to me. Your relaxed and down to earth manner makes me wanna keep coming back…and you can bet I’ll do just that!

      Awe this is a wonderful comment, thank you so much for this! I’m so happy to hear you’re motivated to care for yourself a little more. We women, put ourselves last far too often and finding a balance is key for sure. 😊💕 I actually DO have the larger upper arm issue, sometimes I care to hide it sometimes I don’t…you’ll usually see me with my arms close to my body if I don’t have a 3rd layer on or something hiding them. So definitely something that I do deal with! Thanks for the idea! I’ll certainly put this idea on my list.

    These are great tips. I haven't gained any weight in the last 6 months but thanks to perimenopause, it's shifted to my lower belly. I've been clothes shopping for weeks (a cruise coming up!) and I'm so disillusioned with fashion vs my body right now. I desperately want to wear a tuck, but my lower belly just protrudes so much. I'm for sure using some of these tips. Thank you!

    Iam now 81. All my life has been spent with a middle body crisis. Getting older enhanced the problem. No matter what age or weight it was there😢. . My go to is and will always be undergarments. Fitted right they help smooth. I especially like the stretch camisoles. I wear nipple covers with them. No bra lines. Spanx is pricy but you get the idea. Also i choose a length that will cover my tummy and hips. Takes some time finding the right one but well worth the effort. I feel contained. Not bouncing around. Also put a pair of light spandex panties over the camisole. Two pieces that act as one

    Loved the tips! The last one about getting ready each day to look your best is the absolute most important tip! I am 73 and 5’ 2” and struggle to find flattering clothes as I have a large bust and good shoulders. I always look top heavy so I end up wearing dark boring tops!😢

    • @StylishandGrateful
      @StylishandGrateful  2 месяца назад +1

      There’s nothing wrong with dark plain tops. Spruce them up with interesting bottoms, maybe a satin skirt or a denim skirt. Or nice trousers or a different cut of denim jeans. You could also utilize a stunning third layer and a pop of color in your purse choice. 😊💕

      Just try one on anytime you come acrid one you like. I only have two…because there’s so many things that matter; the cut, the length, the neckline, the material, the color. Since it is a more fitted silhouette it takes a lot of trying on to find YOUR perfect fit, I’ve found. 😊🌻

  • @writerinfact1768

    Last time I was shopping for shirts, I was unhappy to find that half of the front was striped vertically, while the other half went horizontally. I left it in the store. That same trip yielded a surprise that came home with me - a duster-length, mostly open (like crochet) ecru sweater. There's a single tie at waist height, but tying it makes it look stretched around, which isn't attractive! The ecru, though, goes with everything I own. Wrap dresses are very flattering to most women! And I plan to dig through the box of patterns and crates of fabric since my sewing machine is already on the kitchen table.

    When your bust line is as prominent as your mid-roll your tips work well. There's balance. But some of us are built differently, are small on top with narrow shoulders. This doubly challenges disguising a tummy bulge. Especially in hot climes, where adding a layer, even a scarf, is out of the question. Thanks for the tios

    Great sliming mid section tips! The front or side tuck doesn’t work for me. As for the wide leg style there are different size flares at the bottom, and I have 2 wide legs that work for my body type. I personally find the worst wide leg jeans are the ones with a very large flare, and when you walk they make a swishing sound😅 Overall I found your suggestions to be very helpful, especially the wrap dresses - they are very flattering.

      Take time and try try try. I have a family member your shape and many of these tips she’s implemented like making a dress a-line or finding a flattering 3rd layer. If you completely feel you can’t tuck pay attention to the hem lines of the top you choose. There’s several ways to style for all body shapes you’ll just need to keep trying soles you’re not used to. 🌻 Thank you so much for sharing!😊💕

    Got rid of my winter fat, now I have spring rolls.

  • @Nee96Nee
    @Nee96Nee 2 месяца назад

    So for the last 20 yrs I have been around the same 2 sizes 6-8 to 7-9 ( of course this depends on the brand and style. However at my heaviest I was pushing a size 18. One thing I will say. If you've been heavy and now loosing weight. Don't buy a size up if your clothes are getting tight. Especially in the winter. If you always go a size up then before you know it you've gone from a size 6-7 to a 12-14 and so on. If your clothes are starting to get tight check out why. Maybe it's your diet, lack of exercise something. I tend to gain about a pant size during my period. So I do tend to wear my more loose jeans, pants, skirts. However I don't tend to wear large loose clothes often. Your body gets used to and sets itself to your clothes so if you are always getting a size bigger than eventually you'll be much bigger than your comfortable with being.
    Most people tend to gain about a pant size but shouldn't be more than 2 pant sizes during the winter especially if your like me and tend not to be outside as much ( I don't like the cold). That is where I am at right now. It's spring time and for life events this year my stomach is a bit bigger. Some of my usual pants are too small, while a couple are starting to get tight as well. This is my clue for me to start getting more active. And make food choice changes. This winter I noticed that I started eating more sweets and carbs, high salt foods. So I will be cutting back ( for myself I don't cut out any food cravings but I do get smaller portion sizes. Like a bag of "Halloween" candy cause 2 pieces cuts the craving instead of buying a whole candy bar. Baking mini muffins, brownies, cause the smaller piece cuts the craving. But for myself if I deny myself those small treats too much/ too often when I give in I have the big candy bar or the large muffin etc. )
