The tile looks like it says Elizabeth, written in old script.
You are right. It is a Queen Elizabeth 1st wall tile .
I have to laugh because you first think of art uses for things and that big slab of marble, I immediately thought of it for my kitchen....to roll out pastries or candies. :)
Was thinking the same thing... a marble pastry board is something I've been keeping an eye out for at thrift stores for a while
Quimper is pronounced kam-PEHR. Excellent, excellent find. Wish I could afford Quimper.
The marble slab would be a great addition for your son’s cooking . They r great to use when making dough , it keeps it cool .
Or a charcuterie board
Great for baking or putting hot pots on
You can put that size piece of marble right in the fridge and pull it out when working with dough! Keeps the dough cold!
Hi Niche lady the framed tile with the queen on is Queen Elizabeth 1 ,Henry VIII daughter with Ann Boleyn
Yes, it said Elizabeth under the lady figure on the tile (the Queen:)
Yeah, Queen Elizabeth....her name was what was hard to read....similar to her signature.
The trivet with the scribbled name was queen Elizabeth the first's signiture and a drawing of her. It is a copy of what her actual signature looks like. Back then the handwriting was very ornate and hard to read.
Yep. Queenie, (If you have seen Blackadder series 2). 😁
I recycle all my padded envelopes that I get from Amazon and keep them in several large shopping bags in my car. It’s so easy to just slide all my breakable items into an envelope!
That's so great! I have save those padded envelopes but I never though to use it for that! Great Idea Now I will put them in the car instead so I can bring home the fragile stuff safely! Also we don't have to use the expensive stuff we use for our shipping. 🤗😁
Omg good idea! I use fabric pieces as reusable wrapping paper, but I bet your idea would be easier to store in the car
Yes great way to protect breakables!!
Brilliant
Great idea. I usually cut the seams and use them for box filler.
The abalone is from New Zealand. You can tell that it's from
NZ, by the size and the color.
Cool! Thanks for your knowledge! That Abalone was so beautiful! 🤗😁
Dani
Quimper is pronounced “camp- pear” - it’s actually a town in France famous for its pottery
They make/made gorgeous things!
Quimper is in Normandy,France. That piece is an antique.
@@veroniquevincent1079 Well, you are half right. Quimper is located on the southwest tip of Bretagne/Brittony, (the region next to Nomandy). ☺️
P
Love love how you do the recap at the end. great finds Dani!
Haha! Queen Victoria?! That's Queen Elizabeth I and that's her signature below her. It says Elizabeth Regina, I believe. :)
The marble was called “Rain Forest” when I sold it. It comes in several shades. My favorite.
Danni, fun trip with lots of goodies! I wish you had bought the Queen Elizabeth 1st tile! I also like the coat of arms too!
I was feeling like going thrifting, but have loads to list already. Have your videos playing whilst I list and the thrifting urge has passed. Educational and soothing.
It's freezing cold today it was -32F with the wind chill today plus we are still in lock down. So it was nice to see all the amazing scores she got. Plus like you I have tons to list but I am doing well on organizing my room, new year and new goals like Danni ! 😜
I am currently putting my thrifting on hold because I am saving for a townhouse but I love experiencing thrifting by you taking us with you thank you !!
Love the Quimper vase, I would have snatched that up too, but it would not leave my house if I had found one. Great find. Thanks for another great video.
We keep a section of Xmas out year around but only better items of 6.99 or up.. people love Xmas anytime
I love how you give a little pat pat and wish an item luck to find a new home!💕
I work at Goodwill and more than half of the items we get don't have lids. Probably why they donated it. It frustrates us too.
Good to know
The lid less tea pots make beautiful planters.
The slab of marble you picked up is called "Rainforest". It's what I have for the countertop in my guest bathroom. So simply elegant, can surely see using it as base for displaying a sculpture/vase, etc. like you said. Your videos are delightful to watch - Keep being you! 👍from Texas
Those little baskets are Native American designs. But it is easy to see why it might be mistaken as African. They are probably Hopi, Navajo, or Lakota.
Ya on the recap she had corrected herself and put them as Native American. 😁😁🤗🤗🤗
I think that said Elizabeth. Probably Elizabeth the first
Hey Danni. Thanks for picking up and chatting about the little African doll. We don’t find many African/African American dolls or items to be found out in the wild, in my area anyway. So yeah…Thanks
I usually get my Christmas stuff put away about a week after the first of the year. But this year I've decided to keep everything up until February 1st because it's so beautiful and it cheers up the house and makes it feel warm and I live in Ohio and it's really really cold so I just want to keep it up for that reason.
No one visits me anyway 😂
Aw! That's why I didn't decorate for 20 years..."who else is going to see it?"
Hi Danni,
I just wanted to give you a heads up on a great substrate for Rachel to paint on. I pick up old records and use the jacket covers. They are inexpensive and they work great!
Is it possible the Pier 1 "lidless canister" is actually a utensil holder? If so, it wouldn't have a lid.
Just a thought :)
In the future, consider purchasing the offensive thing and destroying it. I know that's probably a controversial thing to do, but I feel like ridding the world of racism is the right thing.
Good point Leslie! I’d support that idea.
I believe that little green dragonfly bowl was a sugar bowl with a lid. I think it was a World Market pattern a few years ago.
Queen Elizabeth you sat back in the woods. 17:10 She was Henry the 8th's daughter by Ann Boleyn
The pretty lusterwear teapots without lids would be great for flower arranging!
So glad somebody finally said this!
Teapots work great for small flower arrangements, I have done several on past years when I made wreaths, wall hangings and such... something to keep in mind ❣️☺️
This is a blast. I noticed you did pass up several old English pottery plates and large vase. YOu are spot on with those millenials going for mid-century modern lines. I'd pick up more of those for your sales if I were you. It is all the rage. Thanks for a terrific tour through the world of thrifting!
You are hard at work ,go at your own speed ,remember we’re probably sitting in a comfortable chair .
1:30 "Learn To Fly" by Foo Fighters. Not complaining at all 😁🎶 Your microphone did well. 8:52 Czechoslovakia, that piece must definitely have been made before the 90's, nice find. I also liked the letter holder. Interesting video as usual. Cheers from Italy 👋☀️
I have a quimper plate somewhere in my cellar. I've always had a 'feel' for finds like this, I've just never gotten around to selling them. I'm in the UK so there is a big difference in the things that are desirable, but there are some good finds that are universal.
Murano glass, quimper, etc. I think I'd go crazy in your thrift stores they are HUGE!
My vintage 4-foot blow mold Santa is still in the living room. He is so cute I hate to put him away! I love the Quimper vase you found.
Loved that Quimper vase!! Would you consider selling that to me? I have other pieces that belonged to my mother. It would be wonderful to add the vase to the collection. Thanks!
If you want to buy the vase there are instructions in her description on how to email her. It is beautiful! Good Luck! 😁🤗
I replied giving the time stamp and asking how much Danni would be asking for it. I haven't received a reply.
@@violainemarty3052 if it's an antique and a true find, then it will probably be listed as eBay. The highest bid will get it. Good luck!
Hi Danni,, your new microphone has been working great.
I would have loved to get that turtle and paint it. 😄
I love stone pieces. I use the for stepping stone outside.
I put my Xmas inside away because my cats wouldn’t leave it alone. Outside, to cold to gather in lol.
That is Queen Elizabeth I, that is her signature.
I so wish we had good thrift stores where I live. Makes me want to move! Love watching you shop.
Or fly there and rent a U-Haul for the trip home! Lol
@@andicastro1203 Oh I wish travel was free I would go to visit all the time and get all these amazing stuff she gets too. 🤗🤗😜😜😜
@@andicastro1203 It’s been over a year since I’ve been in Vegas to thrift. I’ve moved further away and I have totally thought about flying into Vegas and rent a van for the trip home. I’m sure I could fill it!! 😳😊😀🤪🤣
That was great. Nice and relaxing. Lots of interesting finds. As always, fun and educational and therapeutic. Like having a coffee with a friend💜
And we didn't have to go out in the freezing cold to do it 😜😜🤗🤗🤗🥶🥶🥶🥶😘😘😘
@@melissalynncolbert-amyotte4678 EXACTLY! 💜💜💜
Definitely therapeutic that's why I just look through some thrift stores for that reason ❣️
I wish you would have gotten that fairy light. I love satin glass.
Hi, Quimper is pronounced kam.phr. Nice find! 👍😄
I like the comment about checking retail store prices!
Sometimes I will see a Dollar Tree item for $.99 at GW. I may pick it up if I don't plan to go to DT any time soon. But I have to talk myself into it being ok!
Like Like Like when you shop by yourself. I’ve said it before; I’ll say it again. 🤗
Agreed. Good to have Danni’s comments and expertise.
I wanted that big square candle. I said “yes please”.
Me too; never shop on Saturday ; at least you found some real treasure. The music covered up pretty well under all the other noise. Thanks Danni
Another great video!! I have several large abalone shells that were my mother in law's, they were her pride and joy & now mine. This reminded me that I have one with plastic feet that I need to get listed.. I remember people using them for a soap dish.... I always learn something new to be on the hunt for...
Just discovered your channel, life long thrift shopper but I never thought about reselling. I love coming home from teaching and going shopping with you. Mostly relaxing but I’m learning some stuff too!
Have you seen Tiffany Thrifting Vegas ( she's a friend to the Ninch lady), Tiffany's channel is 👍
Welcome to Niche Nation! You can come shopping at her live sales on Fridays at 1pm PT and 4pm ET you don't have to go out to find all the good stuff 😜😜😜🤗🤗🤗
It’s queen Elizabeth 1.☺️
I think the wait was way worth it. They probably put out a lot of great stuff for the Saturday shoppers. You found some really great items today. Fun shopping with you. You did great slowing down shopping in the glass today.
Things tend to come in without lids, the cup for the saucer, the remote to whatever electrical thing it is and cords.. that is why they are donated usually cuz no one at home knows where the pieces are 🤣🤣
Sometimes lids etc... come separated because the donor just throws stuff in a box. Perhaps they're rushed. However, most of the times pieces come without lids, broken lids or lids without a bottom. Been a GW employee for a long time. We get excited with unique stuff comes in too.
I always wondered, as a GW employee do you get to pick things first if you want them? And do you get a discount on the piece?
@@rhondabolash212 Here in Kentucky, they absolutely do not! Even on their day off, employees must wait until goods have been out for a number of hours, 2, I think, and must have their purchases okayed by an admin.!
@@granniefromky wow. I’m so surprised and saddened for the employee. They should at least get that work benefit of getting to buy it first or a discount. That would seem like the right thing to do. Very sad.
Great video as always. That tile looked like a picture of Queen Elizabeth I. I believe the writing spelled Elizabeth in their weird writing!!
I used to love shopping at Pier One.
So glad you picked up the vintage silhouette thermometer. They are quite collectible!
I saw Elizabeth. So enjoy your videos.
My Goodwill puts out Christmas all year. They still don’t give any discounts!
I have a few pieces of Christmas to put away then all done! Started this past weekend, rainy and cold in NC so it was a good weekend to tackle it, lol Loving your videos and learning so much from you, thank you ❤
Together trivet said “Elizabeth”. The font made it hard to read. Meant to say signature on trivet.
It was her real signature Queen Elizabeth I. That tile was 1964 Shakespeare Exhibition Holkham Pottery Tile. 🤗😁I did a search on ebay no comps, but something similar but with Shakespeare face on it sold for 34.93 CAD. So she might of had something there. Oh well.
My goodwill are not good! However they don’t play any music. My goal is to find a fairy lamp and a flower frog and looked like yours had both
Enjoy your videos and all the information you share. Love the potted plants you picked up
Quite a few of the topless teapots would be pretty for your flower arrangements!
That scribbled word was Elizabeth, and that was her portrait, one of the longest running monarch in England, daughter if Henry the eighth, and namesake of the Elizabethan period... She would definitely be an antuque, but probably not that trivet . 😁
What was the maker on the pretty Rose floral pitcher at 27:40 you went so fast?
Unfortunately she didn't show us the maker so it's wasn't something she thought was worth buying probably because it might of been missing it's basin? or it didn't feel quality enough for her to teach us about. She has a lot of past inventory she has to go through to see if there was any breakage from the move. So she is really looking for things to sell at her live sales or something really amazing that you can't not buy it 😁🤗
Had to see your video before I went to bed tonight. Helped me relax. I wish I got to go thrifting to. That's why I keep watching you. Good night all ! 🤗💞
I wish I got to shop at HER Goodwills, not my crappy ones. ☹
I love Maxine!!! That marble slab is gorgeous 😍😍😍😍😍.
Elizabeth. The queen of the trivet!
I love the Santa on the horse!! ❤️
It says Elizabeth!
Just wanted to stop and say thank you! I love how down to earth you are and how you explain how this all works to newbies like myself. I am a single mom working my butt off at work part time and barely making ends meet when a gal down the street from me was having an estate sale for a family friend who's mom had passed away. She asked me if I wanted all the stuff that didn't sell afterwards and I saw how much nice stuff there was and said sure! I figured I could just donate whatever I did not want or need for my household. Turns out there was vintage pics in frames, heavy expensive dish sets (vintage) and all sorts of stuff. That is how I ended up on your channel and now I think I have another part time job that is a lot more fun and exciting and profitable than my other job! THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Oh I would love to help you make this a super profitable adventure!
@@lindar8039 Try Worthpoint!! Very descriptive and fun to watch.
That was Queen Elizabeth, the Virgin queen... if you go back to the video you can read "Elizabeth".
I took my decorations down two after the holiday. Time for Valentines Day! 😍 Stay awesome!
At 17:00 that is Queen Elizabeth I , it even says Elizabeth on the bottom. She was Queen of England during the 1500's, and was the daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn.
I saw your thumbnail and I knew what it was LOL. When I was a kid, I had the opportunity to go to France and actually got to see faience being made by hand in one of their studios before it closed. It wasn't Quimper but there is something just unique and fairy tale like with French faience compared to other faience for me. Great find!
You're teaching the Goodwill people and they are raising prices.
The yellow Pier 1 butterfly plates were nice. Loved the color.
I have become obsessed with you thrifting in Vegas. You two are my go to , for learning the art of flipping on eBay
The Quimper vase was a great find! Thank you Danni for taking us along! ☺️💐🇬🇧
Great video, and Hau,l so far your micro phone has been great on music.ive seen that milk glass piece ( banana basket) it's Lavender, it's My most fav Piece in the world. We put our Christmas deco. Away day after Christmas.
That little plaque you picked up that was black and white was a drawing of Queen Elizabeth the first
Why do they have music so loud? It would interfere with my train of thought just buying for myself.
Omg I want that fairy lamp!!
I left my red Christmas lights up as they can double for Valentines Day
I've been binge watching your videos . Thanks for passing along your knowledge . What has been ykur best find ? I enjoy your personality , you make me chuckle .
She was asked that quite awhile ago, it's a good question to ask at her Monday's live chat starts at 1pm PT 4pm ET And best find where? at Good will or antique mall, or estates sales or online auctions. She seems to find at least one thing each trip that is a great find 😜😜😜😜😜It would be nice for you to ask her on Monday! 😁
Yes a queen Victoria Flitzbatchz…
That Masters Golf hat is probably good money. I think you can only buy them in Augusta when the pro shop is open. Of course you can donate to sell, or find them on The internet.
Oh no, the fairy lamp. How could you? 😩. Hope you do well, but it’s going to take me a minute to get over the lamp🥲
The off white trimmed in gold trinket box was pretty. They’re turning up more and more but I don’t know if it was worth picking up
The Elizabeth tile? I’m SMH
What was wrong with the creamer and sugar bowl by the item you said you probably donated? I’m picking your brain tonight fun video. God bless and keep you in his arms!!!!
Quite a unique cart full! Sony different types of things I've not seen before! I enjoyed every minute! It was fun to see you so excited as you are well deserved!.
Be 🙌
I think that milk glass piece would be a console piece not a compote which is used for serving some sort of fruit dish or other kind of dish.. It was pretty nice piece
Tupperware is great, I like them and they last for along time. I like watching ur videos, I like thrifting but haven't done it for awhile, I make Jean purses and keychains. Keep up the good work. Have a great day.
It’s says Elizabeth as in Queen elizabeth
The wee vase you got was gorgeous! What a find! Good for you Danni 👍❤
Just put our Christmas stuff away today. I'll be all finished tomorrow. Sending stuff to Goodwill, too. lol
Wonderful finds!!! Amazing thrift stores.
The trivet said Elizabeth.
The plaque you picked up at 17:10 and thought was Queen Victoria, actually said Elizabeth- it is Queen Elizabeth the first.
I still have my Mom’s old Westbend Bean pot but it has a different pattern on it. She owned it from before I was even born. I don’t have the hot plate that goes with it. I keep it for sentimental reasons. I sure do miss her.
“Kim ‘pair” Quimper. It’s French!
You know me and my French LOL!
“Quimper” is French and is basically pronounced “cam-pair”. It is tin-glazed hand painted French pottery produced in Quimper, France..
It was queen elizabeth the first on that plaque! It said Elizabeth!
I was screaming "Get the Masters Hat!.."
Lol.
That big slab of marble is great to make candies on
