When my mom was alive, and worked, she was a brooch woman. She had so many. I remember every morning my mom getting ready and pinning on a brooch. I have one of her christmas brooches. Maybe ill wear it this next christmas.
My parents were both part of the silent generation, and lived through the Great Depression. My mom hid stuff EVERYWHERE. We even had to check the air vents when we sold their house. (Sold the house in 2020, and found food items hidden away that expired in the late 70’s!) Be sure to feel the linings of those old jewelry boxes. Mom had hid rings in one, sewed it up, and forgot with time and dementia.
Alex and Melissa my darlings. You hit the jackpot with the jewelry boxes. Lots of beautiful pieces. The snow outside looks like fun. I live in an area with no snow. Well my loves. Until next time. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya ❤️🕊🙏🌹🌞🌈😇👍🇺🇸
It’s his little-boy-on-a-treasure-hunt excitement🤣…which, after all, is what makes their channel so great. I actually love the dynamics between Alex and Melissa. It makes my heart happy, seeing a couple who works, plays, parents, *and* plans as a team. (The only exceptions over the years have maybe 3 or 4 times when Alex surprisingly got a bit grumpy-eyed or curt w/Melissa - probably just exhaustion on his part, and possibly no one but another woman might’ve even noticed, but hey, no one’s perfect. Even Alex). Anyway, I love it when he and Melissa “inventory” together.
I don’t see it as Alexander taking over, he has the camera which in turn is all of you, so he just wants to make sure that everyone is part of the experience ❤ Thank you all for always looking out for both of us.
Alex came up covered in gold again! 03:08 The stones in the earrings are possibly topaz or sapphire. Both are used as better diamond substitutes. I'm betting a lot of the diamond rings are post-WWII engagement rings. The poppy pins have me wanting them - here in the lower 48 we don't get any..darnitt! 11:42 When a bracelet has a safety chain, check for marks. I have no idea what he paid, but odds are those tangled chains will scrap out enough to cover both boxes and then some.
Howdy Alex and Melissa,I love watching your adventures and seeing your finds.Alex, it's good to see you work with Melissa, searching and sorting.A man's wife is always his better half, bless you both and your family too.👍✌️❤️
Does not take long to add up with Gold the price it is right now. The Diamonds as well, a few of the settings looked like 40's or 50's designs. Nice going.
Man. I have been visiting your channel on and off for years. You never age! You still look like a 26 year old lad. God bless! Good luck on new adventures
I just love the jewelry box opening videos :) Found your channel today while watching antiquing videos and im now going to binge watch some of the older videos you have as well. Keep up with the amazing finds! Cant wait to show my partner the car/game videos on your channel, he will most likely enjoy those :)
At 14:03, that silver and stone bracelet - the stones could be white topaz. I have a similar one I bought in the mid 1990’s and it is silver and white topaz.
I just picked up a jewelry box my self @ auction to sort through. Unfortunately I didn’t get lucky like you two but I have to test a couple rings for diamonds 🤞 Fun video ‼️
What Fun! Alex! True Tresure,Box! Mary in Hilliard,Florida! Not David b.! Say Hello! To Melissa! Too! Love watching what you Find! Been watching for few years now! Stay safe ! Bye! For now!♥️♥️♥️🤔😁😎🌴😉
That was fun, love to look at all the jewelry. Each item has a story to tell, but we will not get to hear it. Thanks Alex and Melissa for sharing. Take care, continue on. Faye (Ohio)
Great video guys! My mom recently passed away and we are going through her treasures, also some of her mom’s and aunts’s jewellery. Some Sherman crystals. Some other gorgeous Italian Gold. I think I might wear some of the Sherman pieces. I love them. The furniture saleswoman wearing antique crystals 😅. I found some old money too. I should pop out to the store and show you. 🙋🏼♀️🇨🇦✌🏼
I wanted to see each piece a little closer and to know what carat gold it was. Also, I like the costume jewelry as well. I'm really into jewelry. Loved this!
You made me laugh so hard when Melissa was checking her diamond. There certainly were some beautiful pieces in there. I was surprised at the amount of gold. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
Do you think you would get more from a jewelry store selling it for scrap gold than you would auctioning it off? The price they will give you for gold would surprise you, I think. The diamond rings you could put on consignment? This was the best jewelry haul you've ever done! Congratulations Melissa and Alex! Thank you.
Melissa's lovely long fingers would be a perfect setting for us to see some of those antique rings! And Alex, I think you have lost weight....you're looking great! 💙
Nice find Sir, as usual curiosity Inc hits another vein of gold in a few random Jewelry boxes, I'm like Alex I will recognize good/quality stuff first and then I'll spot a few pieces of gold, bundle up what I already have and then say how much for everything!!! as they contemplate this, I will make them an offer they can't refuse...🤔and it's usually a very good price.
Wonderful video, Alex look up Butler and Wilson they look like the type they make. Hi from UK love watching you and you're family the children growing up so fast . Sadly nearby always miss your live video xxx that care
Welcome to our viewer family. We love Alex, Melissa and their family and hope you will love them too. He has explained and showed us why he doesn't use a tripod too often in some older videos. As a long time viewer I can tell you it's much better without a tripod. We can actually see things better, especially when he's looking in boxes. When he uses a tripod he ends up moving it around a lot so we can get a better look at the details of something and a lot of times he's moving around and/or going from one box to another. He does use empty bins/boxes to sort and separate stuff especially if he does a house clean out or buys a large lot of something. He also uses tables in a building he has to lay things out on so he can sort them and put like items together then put them in a bin or box. It also helps when there's a missing part that may be in another box. Trust me, he really does have a method to his madness. I've been watching from the beginning and haven't quite figured exactly what that is but it works perfectly for him.
Never take Sterling bracelets for granted. It depends upon the designer's name. Some are worth $200 to $1,000 each. Learn the names of the new designers out there.
The pink stones in that bracelet could be alexandrite. She had a lot of pearl as well so alexandrite and pearl are june birthstones. This person could ve had a june birth date.
So fortunate that Melissa has a jewelry background. You guys make. Great team!
Alex's nervous chuckle when Melissa was checking her diamond was everything!! 🤣😂
When my mom was alive, and worked, she was a brooch woman. She had so many. I remember every morning my mom getting ready and pinning on a brooch. I have one of her christmas brooches. Maybe ill wear it this next christmas.
My mom had a lot of brooches, too. She would have absolutely the cat and mouse brooch this lady owned.
The person that used to own those boxes had beautiful taste.❤❤
My thoughts exactly!

As a Watchmaker and Jeweller’s daughter, your jewellery hauls fascinate me. Loved this.
Great video. Always love videos with Melissa's reaction. Thanks for sharing.
Boy do I love these mystery jewelry boxes. Melissa has the most amazing dimples that can be seen with the loop in her eye.
Great haul, the red crystal gem stone necklace I don't think it's agate I think it's carnelian.
You're right, it's Carnelian
Melissa: Let me try it on my ring.
Alex: NOooo!
😁
Made me laugh 😂
Me too 😂 was he sweating just a little?🇦🇺
You briefly panned over a stick pin. I remember in the 80's we would wear cowl neck tops with a stick pin it was the fashion.
Well done folks. Difficult to not rush to see it all we appreciate Melissa's expertise. 😁
Ales, every time you say Melissa is going to go through the jewelry you end up taking over.
I actually thought the tag teamed really well.

That is because, he realizes how much fun she is having. And doesn't want to miss out.😊
ii thought the same..😂😂
Pull out the bottom drawer of the large jewelry box. My moms box looked exactly the same and had a nice surprise once the drawer came out.
My fav sort of video...showing jewellery treasures....
I like them too!
Jewelry I understand for sure. Some lovely pieces there too. Love the parrot and the cat pins. Have a great day

Yes, I noticed the safety chain on the bracelet too, was hoping they would test it.
I love when Melissa’s on, I’m really enjoying her channel, such a sweet humble lady
I love the Alex and Melissa jewellery episodes.

I can’t wait. Going through one with ya’ here. 🙌🇨🇦
Oh this is fun to watch.
The heavy tiger pin might look good on a winter coat…
WOW you found a gold mine for sure. It's finds like that that keeps the thrill of the hunt going. I wish I could find one like that.
This was very interesting. Thanks for sharing. All the best.
Jackpot! Awesome video! We love all of your content! Both of you guys make an amazing team.
Those brooches are in fantastic condition. Rings were totally worth the two boxes. For me the small jewelry box is the real prize. I had one.

Hey, look at that Melissa go, mum teacher & appraiser.😊
I love vintage costume brooches, and you got some really cool ones!
"It's very Wednesday Adams" LOL!
Live the rhinestone pins. Great video!❤❤❤
That was fun. The rope necklace I have but it’s longer and fatter with a matching bracelet. I got it after my mom passed away.
So calm as you're finding diamonds and gold items. I would be " oh my gosh, real diamonds! " repeatedly! 😅
That big disc necklace could be a lovely carnelian. Could be wrong but it's glorious anyway!
Love the jewelry videos, thank you.
You were lucky again,Alex! That was great! Can’t wait for the next video.🙏🏻🥰

Wow!!❤
Yay!! Treasure chest.
The stones in the silver bracelet at 14:02 I think they may be tanzanite.
I recently acquired my grandmother’s jewelry box. It was filled with lots of amazing things.
The jewlery are my favorite videos. I wish you guys would slow down and show it better. ❤
I wanted to see each piece a little closer and to know what carat gold it was. Also, I like the costume jewelry as well. I'm really into jewelry. Loved this!

10:00 That's a stock photo. I've seen it used a lot in little frames like this one.
Nice find!!

Fifth Avenue Animals from The 90s. Cool. And that big necklace made from stones might suprise you.
You kind of turned into "the mad jeweler who waits for NO ONE" -- lol 🤪 🤭
That was fun. I had one of those fun ladybird watches.
Melissa's lovely long fingers would be a perfect setting for us to see some of those antique rings! And Alex, I think you have lost weight....you're looking great! 💙

🙋♀️❤️. That was fun!
Small vintage watches are coming back in style right now :)
loooove the spider!!!!!!
Started watching a few days ago, and I like watching. My biggest pet peeve is not having a tripod for your camera, not having empty bins for sorting.
There’s a reason for that

That large stine may be swarovski (dont know if that speakt right) worth checking out as the price has gone up in recent times😊
You have a wonderful singing voice! Even just singing about pandas, lol
The big orange stone is carnelian

OoooH Wow you got White Grass outside……😊
So looking forward to the auction. So many of the silver jewelry I want! That picture piece, is it a bookmark? I need that!
❤ how exciting ❤
Great video! Make sure you touch the metal on the back of the tester to ground for more accurate reading😊
I want to know what's on the thumb drive LOL
When is your next auction? Love your whole family ❤
That heart in the small box seems white gold with diamond.
The pink stones in that bracelet could be alexandrite. She had a lot of pearl as well so alexandrite and pearl are june birthstones. This person could ve had a june birth date.
Jewelry, my favorite!
