I’m subscribed to you and Campea and literally just watched his out of the theater reaction and he said it really sucks! lol….divisive indeed 😂
Actually there's more bad reviews than good reviews. The good reviews are only the minority.
@@frozenwishstudios that's not true, both on RT and letterboxd there are more positive reviews than negative.
@@dougdeveloper8850 I'm a big Campea fan, watch his shows a lot but I've come to realize my taste doesn't align with his most of the time so that doesn't really worry me. But like he says, film is subjective, like what you like...one of the many reasonable and level-headed takes he has that more people really should start to emulate.
@@dougdeveloper8850 of course campea said that… 🙄
@@kdscool1536 Maybe. I just hope I can find more positive reviews but it seems like it's getting the Wonder Woman 1984 treatment so far from what I've personally heard
I’m seeing mixed reactions. Reactions of all kinds coming and that entices me to see it even more
Go ahead and see it for yourself. I thought it was pretty bad and I’m interested to see the mental gymnastics people do to say this movie is good. I’m not against musicals, but I was under the impression that this was a musical with popular songs. It’s not. It’s just a bunch of songs.
In my screening, the musical sequences would be when people would rush out to use the bathroom. They weren’t feeling it.
I enjoyed it
It is not mixed, reviews are mostly negative.
Wow never seen Campea and Rocha divide so much on a review
The film was not apolgozing it was, pointing out to the people who misunderstood the first film as a eulogy of violence and didn't think of it as a character analysis and self-reflection of loneliness in society and politcal radicalization being connected with loneliness the social commentary isnt just handed out in your face it is done through filmmaking like natural born killers and taxi driver
I think the decision to set most of the movie in 2 locations, arkham asylum and a court house was a bad one. It will come across as boring, too contained for some. They should have had this movie be based on arthur fleck escpaing arkham and creating chaos , carrying out his first heist across the city. It
This is going to be a polarising movie I can tell !
I saw Joker once in the theater and said after, I will never watch this again. This movie was definitely going to be a hard pass for me. But I’m sure people who go see it will love it.
Love the breakdown as usual....
The first movie had mixed reactions and when I saw it with my packed audience. It was a great experience
I’m watching the sequel and listening to Lady Gaga album.
I’m glad that you’re honest with saying it’s not as good as the first one
Looking forward to seeing this. Great reaction outlaw.
Sounds like mix bag. But if it's divisive I'm wondering is its because Phoenix didn't want to do sequel in first place.
Divisive is good. the first was also divisive. and im all here for directors who do something different and take risks. i'm keen
As soon as they said musical I phased out.
I 100% agree with you, I was all in until the last 15 to 20 mins of the film, it kinda does an uno reverse and has you saying what was it all for?? Maybe that's the bad joke punchline.
@dee85ist
hi may be its a dream or a hallucination ( i will look for evidence once i see the movie )
I saw the joker today im in shock! This film is really deep, disturbing and tragic!!
Thanks for the review. I am looking forward to seeing it on Friday.
In the last trailer the cinematography looked great.
Let's goooo!!!! Loved the first one, I'm giving the sequel a bit of extra faith to do its thing, but excited either way.
This guy gets it (some what)
People are talking so much crap about it, mostly because they dont get it.
Its a continuation of the story, what happened after, using musicals in his mind to deal with everything thats happening, which in the first movie he did the same imagining the TV show and him being at the show, so its not pointless money grab, its a great movie case-study style of this complex character. Touching moments with great filming. If you see the first one for what its intended to be, this is the perfect follow up.
Most of the people that are bitching about it are so small minded and they can’t even give out good arguments to their criticisms.
I agreed I enjoyed it
Oh you qre one of those goons who just because you do not like a negative review....its because they don't get it....grow up 😂
@@marklola12 calling it a bad film or terrible when you can’t even say why, other than saying it’s a musical, just makes you look stupid. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but when you’re bashing something with zero substance behind your argument, it’s just so dumb.
Finally! I found someone smart to understand what they're trying to do with this sequel, it looks like these people never understood the first movie or didn't watch the first movie.
Can’t wait to see it on Sunday.
I'm ready to see it
This movie is clearly going to suck.
Going on Friday
I actually enjoyed this movie more than the first. I know there’s a lot to like about the first and it being iconic. But in this film I just kept thinking how daring and bold it was, to the point of embarrassment actually, but I felt that all played into the character. I had a lot of fun with the musical elements. I get that it will be divisive but I loved this better and thought in the writing there was a lot more substance, like you said this turmoil and battle in Arthur. I thought it was bold, unique and had a lot of fun with this movie.
Fully agree!
This won't be divisive at all, most people will dislike it, some will find it decent, and a small number of people will really like it, but this is like The Rise of Skywalker for DC. It will be viewed as a disappointment for the majority.
Campea said to avoid this movie in his out of theater reaction
Make up your own mind
We're not sheep.
Of all the people I follow (and there's a ton), you've given one of the more positive reviews and say more good about it than anyone else. Doesn't seem to be as device as u suggest as most are saying it's not good and the music sequences hurt the film overall. I'll go and make up my own mind but appreciate ur thoughts
I am thinking this is going to be really good, I had a feeling just from the trailers that was going to be the case and, I don’t go in expecting the sequel to be as good as the original but, I am hoping that I just enjoy it on it’s own right and it’s own merits and as long as when I see it on Saturday at 12:45pm at my local AMC theaters with my mom and dad, as long as I enjoy the sequel for what it is on it’s own merits even if I don’t think it’s as strong of a movie as the original, that’s really all I want from the sequel.
I was rooting for this movie since I love the first one. Was hoping for something fresh and wild but will temper expectations and catch on digital. Love your out of the theater reactions 👍
I’m curious now. I hated part 1 but devicesive, i find interesting.😅
Im not surprised rocha likes it he tries harder than most to find the good in entertainment but im glad he supports his opinions and thoughts with reasons
Cheers John looking to try and catch it over the weekend.
Eminem - Stan (Long Version) ft. Dido (2002)
Mostly a musical, not that I was interested anyway.
Todd Phillips felt himself too much after Joker. No one asked for jukebox musical about a supervillain with an overly pretentious French title and the stunt casting of Lady Gaga. I knew this movie was going to trash as soon as I heard the concept and saw the trailers. I don’t know why people thought this movie was going to be good?
Sounds like The Hangover…2&3. Joker should have been a one and done film. Not wasting my time or $$ on this.
So how bad was the theater experience this time.
Mira mesa! Woo! I live 30 mins away.
I think it’s brilliant . While we'll always have the classic heroes and villains, something like this not so often. It truly gives us a glimpse into the mind of someone like “the Joker”
Im sorry but nobody wanted a damn musical. Who asked for this?
It sucks
Everybody wants an action packed thriller and instead we get a slow musical romance..wtf they completely missed the mark.
@hdw1502
i have never seen action in a Joker Movie ( remember these movies are character studies )
I think people who have issues with the ending should check out interviews Todd did regarding the ending of the first film. Explains a lot.
holy shit john, do you live in san diego? thats the theater i've seen a hundred movies in
He does
this is a pass for me
worst movie review
I bet this movie is whack!
Roco sold out a long time ago. Defends woke crap all the time. And tends to have childish taste in films.
We’ll see on the actual review but didn’t mention anything comic related. Just about flecks struggles and stuff. I know Todd Phillips didn’t follow anything but rethinking these joker movies.
