I didn't even realized that the demon claws was the scars on shoulders and also why Alice said she felt lighter, because the demon was no longer just on her shoulders but was attacking the others. I also found it kinda beautiful that Alice's mom changed the Witches Road lyrics just for her daughter and the idea that a hit song lives on because at any one time in the world SOMEONE is singing that song...beautiful to think about.
The callback I haven't seen anyone reference that is absolutely a Patti L/Broadway actress reference was her playing the triangle Which was the instrument she played in the Sweeney Todd revival as Mrs L! What makes it funny is in that show the rest of the cast played the traditional orchestra instruments. She played the triangle and also blew a simple base line on a tuba which was also a hoot.
Somebody commented last time that John always goes off course. I kinda agree sometimes. But I think John does a great job at putting across a different perspective. I love his overthinking moments because it gets me to take a second look. And I love his interpretation of Audrey Plaza's character. This is my go to US review show!
I like the idea of green witches being linked to death because of the other examples of the times in the MCU where we've seen green magic like Loki whose magic is green and he ultimately becomes the God of Stories (which have a start and ending) sat on a throne reminiscent of Yggdrassil the tree of life, and the time stone which again signifies beginning and ending/life and death. It creates a nice through line where this where all forms of green magic draw their power, although I'm not sure if I think Rio is actually the embodiment of death, I think she could've become an emissary of death through her shared history with Agatha. Like if she and Agatha have walked the Road together and Rio became an emissary of death, and Agatha got the Darkhold but found someway around having to sacrificing her child, and cheated death out of a body which created the split between them, or if she did choose the Darkhold over her child, Rio was the one tasked with taking the body away and that led to their separation. I've not saw the leaks so that's where my mind went. Also to Shannon's comparison between this show and the Wizard of Oz - in episode 2 when Agatha refers to the Teen as her pet, she does actually call him Toto 🤣👍
Just want to mention that John says a "doctor at some convention" bound Jen, but it was very specifically a conference dor a newly formed obstetrics organicstion. I think this is noteworthy bc the man who is considered the "father" of obstetrics was a slaver whose research was largely based on experiments he performed on enslaved women, operating on them without any anesthesia.
When Teen is being healed by Jen, when she pours the water over him you can hear the WandaVision theme music in the background. That's gotta be a hint.
Craziest theory I saw was that in the ep of Wandavision where Wanda sang that Slokovian lullaby that was when the sigyl was placed on Billy, like Alice's mom did with the Witches Road song.
We have to remember Agatha never told 'Teen' anything about her son, Jennifer Kale did. So, 'Teen' asking Agatha out of the blue about her son probably threw her. That was a question she would never have expected and probably shocked her. The color of the vines beneath the escape hatch under the piano are purple. So, I agree with Mike Vogel the next episode probably will focus on Agatha. Maybe it's the reason why she is the one seen in the promos getting possessed. I'm theorizing by the end of episode 5, it's 'Teen' who gets possessed with the spirit of Nicholas Scratch. The producers have been talking Agatha's son and now we know 'Teen' isn't him, this would be the time to build-up another 'Teen' connection with Agatha. If Nicholas believes his mom sacrificed him for the Darkhold, there will be animosity between him and Agatha with some revenge on his mind. 'Teen' being possessed by Nicholas could lead episode 6 being a 'Teen-centric episode with flashbacks to explain his character. SPOILERS - - - Ali Ahn said in an answer to TVline, episode 6 was the one she is most interested in fan reaction. And the reason, was 'bar mitzvah'. Billy Kaplan is Jewish. A bar mitzvah happens when a Jewish boy turns 13 years old. A lot happened to 'Teen' at 13. Wanda dropping the Hex around Westview, a car crash with a near death (Death) experience, and a bar mitzvah. Are all three connected? Marvel cast actors, Paul Adelstein and Maria Dizzia as Jeff and Rebecca Kaplan for Billy's parents, this may be the episode we get introduced to them. Last question, if Rio is 'Death', perhaps she wants to collect Billy Kaplan's body. What if Billy Kaplan did die in the car crash and Billy Maximoff's soul revives his body by taking over. Wouldn't that be a reason why Rio has issues with 'Teen'. She came to collect his body but can't. Billy Kaplan should be dead in her mind and Billy Maximoff is a complication. Maybe it wasn't the demon who pushed 'Teen' threw the glass window in episode 4, maybe it was Rio attempting to murder him. This is Nicholas Scratch for Agatha all over again, Rio attempting to take a surrogate son away from her.
I forgot to mention who I think possibly put the sigil on 'Teen'. What if the sigil was placed on 'Teen' to hide him from 'Death. Rio seems to be very interested in 'Teen' and Agatha knows it. Could Rio's character have been looking for 'Teen' all this time but hadn't found him until now due to the sigil. The writers said the sigil was clumsily done, what if it was Billy who put it on himself, not Billy Kaplan, who I believe was non-magical until the car crash, but Billy Maximoff?
I don't think they're done with Alice's trauma or anyone's trauma in just one episode. Jen's trauma story spilled over in this episode and I think Alice will continue to reveal more about her curse in later episodes.
To Michael's point about battling the demon with the song/music being difficult to depict, I would normally agree if not for Multiverse of Madness. They did a great music battle in that film which we could have seen another round of in this episode.
Try singing "Ding, dong the witch is dead" over the first few notes of "The Witch's Road," if you want another reference to WoO. It's in a different mode, so the notes aren't exactly the same, but you can't convince me it wasn't intentional on the Lopez' part.
What if Agatha got the Darkhold to get her son back because Rio (death) had taken him? And by using Darkhold she hid Nicholas in teens body and put sigil on him to hide his identity from witches? I dunno, I’m just making stuff up
John- wish I had been paying attention to these Geek Buddies breakdowns from the beginning bc you all are doing a superior job to the Reel Rejects I will be watching all these and can’t wait for tomorrows on episode 7!
😮 I assume the metronome is to keep timing, as they maintain their cohesion in performance and the song is the subtle way they had to do the demon battle within budgeted constraints i assume
I think that Jenn's binding my be internal trauma, ya know like PTSD...so I'm wondering if one of the remaining episodes has Jenn discovering "Wizard of Oz of it all", the power was within her all along!
It seems pretty clear that Agatha was talking to Rio about Mrs. Hart dying at the beginning of the episode when she says "I didn't think you had it in you"
I just had a thought (when you were talking about Lilia being the "wise mother" to the group.) She is always fixating on stereotypes of "wicked witches" and "hags" and "evil demon speakers"... What if SHE was a wicked witch? She WAS all those cliches, but regrets it now, and that's why she has languished all these centuries. If it's the case, then I suspect we may have a "jump on the grenade" moment coming up as she tries to balance her moral ledgers.
I dont think we need the whole history of the curse. This isn't House of Dragons or Rings of Power with a huge budget and long run times. These are shorter but well paced episodes and the journey and bonding is what this story is supposed to be about not the individual trials IMO.
I don't know, I've been up or down on this show but I have to say this one just completely passed me by. I honestly could not tell you what happened beyond the costume change, the backwards record and Rio turning up.
I think teen will die in the end that he is agathas son protected by a sigil so that death wont find him and offered another child to gain the power of the darkhold that is why the salem 7 is pissed
John had me, then he lost me. I agree we needed more with the curse, but instead of relegating all that to more over done and useless flashbacks, the curse should have been affecting Alice in a visible and noticeable way since ep 1, and perhaps spread to other witches, sooner. Cause right now, i dont really care that she got rid of the curse, because it wasnt any kind of hindrance. also I think I may, but maybe not, know what Agatha meant when she said "I didnt know you had it in ya" since i agree with Vogel that Rio is death, I think shes talking to Rio, abstractly because Sharon want a witch, so she thought death wouldnt take her from the unfairness of the situation. That was my first thought at least.
or... over the next few episodes we start seeing Alice and how she is AFTER the burden is gone. Similar to your suggestion, but as reveal rather than foreshadowing. Maybe she'll be Jim Carey now?
I'm really enjoying Agatha All Along, even more than I expected. I hope it keeps like that. Ps. Are you going to adress the spoilers that came up? It's out there...
What if agatha made a deal with the devil? Say 100 souls for your son back! Aka she's here collecting her bodies aka she's just trading souls for what agatha wants in the end
I don't get why ppl are still debating this smh..Aubrey's character is Death, no one else, I have the Funko Pop okay! It's been announced in toy world and toys can't lie lol 😂 My issue with you guys, my Geek Buddies is this: YES..Agatha truly respects but hates Wanda, but...she loves Wanda's kids. If you all think she's sweet on the teen bcuz he may be her son, she may also be unknowingly/uncontrollably motherly to him because he reminds her of Billy. Not only was she a caretaker to the twins in WandaVision but she held Wanda's brother in her home as well. I think Agatha can smell a person's familial connection to the Scarlett Witch from a continent away 😂 I think she knows exactly who he is!
I loved episode one but it’s completely bored me ever since. I’ve not even watched episode 4 and here I am just getting the recap. Everyone seems to love this show so what am I not getting here? I genuinely want to know why I’m not picking up what you all are
I didn't even realized that the demon claws was the scars on shoulders and also why Alice said she felt lighter, because the demon was no longer just on her shoulders but was attacking the others. the fashions were extra fabulous this episode. I love that time period stylewise.
The callback I haven't seen anyone reference that is absolutely a Patti L/Broadway actress reference was her playing the triangle Which was the instrument she played in the Sweeney Todd revival as Mrs L! The Agatha review I wait for every week! 🙂
Me too
Geek Buddies show reviews are always the best in the biz. So underrated
"i didnt think you had it in you" talking about aubrey plaza as death taking ms. hart.

I gave the show an honest chance & it just failed to really hook me, but I will always tune into these deep dives🤟🏾
Shannon is looking very handsome.
Aubrey Plaza is likely Blackheart, Mephisto's offspring and sibling to Lady Death. They even said the 4th member was a "black heart" on the coven list.
Ya know I made the Blackheart connection when they mentioned it but didn't think it could be Rio could be a great call if true
😮😮😮😮😮
Was the Funko not real?
She’s multiple characters in one including death
@@OGFATE Very possible, the MCU does that kind of combination often.
I think Sharon’s hair wasn’t plucked as well. I haven’t rewatched yet. And yes Michael, you are correct, she is death. She came “up” from beneath too.
Craziest theory I saw was that in the ep of Wandavision where Wanda sang that Slokovian lullaby that was when the sigyl was placed on Billy, like Alice's mom did with the Witches Road song.
Alright I subscribed...good luck

I didn’t like how fast the trial wrapped up but man seeing them bond and watching Aubrey Plaza was so fun.

100% because that song keeps popping in my head now and at first I was like why but then I figured it out.
I had that thought, too, but forgot to bring it up!
How they going to kill Debra Jo before the 70’s episode 😂😂
Great point!
Agathaaaaa
I don’t even watch this show I’m just here for the vibes 🤓
lol same
I love the Alice in Wonderland references with the Drink Me and Play Me of the trials.
What if Agatha got the Darkhold to get her son back because Rio (death) had taken him? And by using Darkhold she hid Nicholas in teens body and put sigil on him to hide his identity from witches? I dunno, I’m just making stuff up
Agatha and Rio make a great couple 😂

Mike V, where did you get that tee? That's the new logo for James Gunn's Superman right?
It seems pretty clear that Agatha was talking to Rio about Mrs. Hart dying at the beginning of the episode when she says "I didn't think you had it in you"

I loved the rendition of the song. Alice was channeling her inner Freddie Mercury on the piano. Lol!
I don't know, I've been up or down on this show but I have to say this one just completely passed me by. I honestly could not tell you what happened beyond the costume change, the backwards record and Rio turning up.
The toys probably already spoiled it before of this episode with a release of 2 certain toys lol
I think teen will die in the end that he is agathas son protected by a sigil so that death wont find him and offered another child to gain the power of the darkhold that is why the salem 7 is pissed

This show is in now way, shape, or form made for me. I absolutely love the heck out of it though. So good.
I'm really enjoying Agatha All Along, even more than I expected. I hope it keeps like that.
Ps. Are you going to adress the spoilers that came up? It's out there...
The down or up comment I just thought meant they don't know where about the witches road is.

Blackheart for sure.
What's that superman logo
Love geek buddies but I can't believe ya'll didn't discuss Lilia's split personality thing.
I want it but can't find it
I’m really enjoying this show and I thought it was going to be mediocre
I loved episode one but it’s completely bored me ever since. I’ve not even watched episode 4 and here I am just getting the recap. Everyone seems to love this show so what am I not getting here? I genuinely want to know why I’m not picking up what you all are
I wonder what it would sound like if The Outlaw played the GeekBytes intro music underneath the whole show?
WHAT IF at the end of the road, Agatha didnt get her purple magic, but scarlet magic instead. Huh?
