Ive had a Fiat TwinAir Lounge last year and recently upgraded to a 500S Convertible Sports model and love it to bits! Even with 100hp and Paddle Shift these cars inspire confidence and are zippy around town, I took mine 4,500 kilometres around Australia Recently it over takes Road Trains and any other obstacle you throw at it with ease out here in the Pilbara of Western Australia!
Callum Balodis I know this is an old post but can I ask with the Twinair are they powerful enough for such a small engine? Am thinking of buying that one and not sure how I feel about such a small engine
In Ontario these things have depreciated a fair bit. You can get one similarly equipped in this video for under $15,000 with less than 30,000 KM. I've spoken to a lot of sales people as well and most all of them say that they received the T as a trade on used Abarths. That being said though, having owned and traded an Abarth I have to say in hindsight that I would much, MUCH rather have had the T. The former was a joyous way to overload the senses when driving on twisting back roads, but it was a choppy, loud, and conspicuous car that very quickly became irritating when driving anywhere else more than a half hour away. Its kind of like what Matt Farah said in one of his "One-Shots" being that its a great car to blast through the canyons or on a windy road for 15 minutes, but too much to live with on the regular. The Turbo is honestly just as rambunctious and playful on the same roads, but its a bit softer and more forgiving on long journeys, and hides its extra power behind the veil of the cuter and significantly less threatening Fiat badges. If the Abarth is what you crave than by all means go for it, its still an absolute blast to drive, but if you want something a bit more practical for use everyday that is still exciting and fun, pick up a second hand T and enjoy it.
Fredrick Reyes There is a monitor in the instrument panel. Also, the 2015 facelift in Europe has added a 5" screen to the centre console, but the facelift has not come to North America yet.
I have a 2010 Abarth 500 Esseesse and I have to say, whilst it looks really good and has a lot of power, the suspension is not forgiving enough for me. It is way too uncomfortable on long journeys. Gotta love the noise that it makes though, especially with the record monza exhaust system!
Harold TheTubeman Anecdotally I will guess that Fiat puts out a few more lemons than other car companies. The Fiat discussion forums have a few more people talking about serious defects in their cars, but Fiat takes care of this under warranty. The 500 has generally been fairly reliable, and they have been sold in Europe since 2007 with a decent reputation for long-term reliability. Here in North America the owners I know have reported very few problems and mostly minor. The powertrain, in particular is solid for 100k+ miles.
nickolastiguan Yes - no problems ( 2014 ) - it has more amenities than this and was out the door with tax etc under $20K - they were getting the 2015's in and needed room on the lot..best time to shop!
Great car. Lots of fun to drive and the right amount of power. I don't like the automatic transmission though. They should have kept it standard. Much more fun to drive when you experience each gear. FYI, the volume and tuner controls are on the back of the steering wheel at your finger tips. I rarely use the knobs.
7birchlane Yes, well I am personally proud to see Italian colours on a stylish Italian designed car. Odd, someone would associate it with pizza delivery. Great car, good review overall.
Rodolfo because Italy equals pizza.....and not only that most pizza delivery guys back in the day drove really small cars especially in Europe. They would put Italian colours on the cars a lot to distinguish them
You’ve got no idea about fiat...cause you’ve never owned one...A fiat 500 T would blow the socks off a Mazda with performance handling and reliability...
In Europe you only learn how to drive on manual, you don't get a driver's license without learning it. All driving school cars and exam cars are manuals. Most people here drive manuals. Automatics are not as reliable and if they fail, cost a lot to repair.
Lol about your manual comments. I'm 16, bought my first car a month ago, and its a 5 speed, and it's better then this car in every single way. I love my abarth.
25k is too much money for this car. Especially that the Hyundai elantra sport is out now. I guess you can park this is small spaces and it has a "look" but no way Im paying 25k for nice seats and a good stereo inside a wart of a car with a measly 135hp turbo motor. This car would be ok with the more pliable suspension and the 160 hp motor with an MT. but 25K for this cartoonish little globule, nah.
Wowwwww, that was a really insightful comment buddy. How did you think of such a thought... please do tell all of us ALL about it and do NOT hold back jimmy!
I am Italian and I did not find it racist at all. Even, if it were, as an Italian (100% born and raised), I would not bring up racism or other whining complaints like everyone else is doing in North America now. Italians are part of the oldest continuous civilization in Europe (if not the world) and we can take the insults. Naturally, when it counts, fighting back is important. But not in this case - and he was kind of right. I like the tricolore stripes, but I would choose them much thinner, more subtle.

My Abarth grey with red accents. Love it!!

Hi! I just bought this car today.I can't wait to pick it up.
How is the car?
turbo is the US version ?i could not find any on the web
back camera?? In a Fiat 500??
Funnest car I have ever driven. Lots of personality fully loaded. Fairly cheap if one pics 3-4 years old.
Did you just say... You wish there was back camera in a fiat 500? Loooool! Oh man.. You had me laughing
Radio controls are on the back of the steering wheel... I never use the actual radio to control it.
Young people take fun out life I love a manual transmission
No monitor in the front why? +Motormouth Canada
Fredrick Reyes Cause you are too busy enjoying the drive!
Fredrick Reyes There is a monitor in the instrument panel. Also, the 2015 facelift in Europe has added a 5" screen to the centre console, but the facelift has not come to North America yet.
1:12 hold the phone...is that a second arm rest???
Yup
Did someone ever complain that the abarth has too much power? Ridiculous! And the price isn't much less.
I've driven this car and at moderate speed in the city it felt as if it would tip over. The same for the 500 L..I'm surprised that you enjoyed it!
Where is the engine number and case...thank u
Backup camera in a fiat?? LOL

How reliable have these 500s been?

Yo! Great Dedication. stitch sprout What's your opinion about it, guys !!
Looks like fun but Fiat/Chrysler just has horrible reliability problems...think I'll stick with my Kia Rio..
Has your (year?) Kia been reliable? I am just curious.
nickolastiguan Yes - no problems ( 2014 ) - it has more amenities than this and was out the door with tax etc under $20K - they were getting the 2015's in and needed room on the lot..best time to shop!
MrKikoboy oh, it is still really new, but good to hear you have had no issues with it so far.
Nope. Depends on the model. I have a lot of friends and family who drive one, never any problem! (that is the cars assembled in Europe).
Wish your reviews were longerrr....
DoubleD 613 Funny, I always hear that people want shorter videos! Most are over 7 minutes!
Weird! I find 10 mins perfect! This seems to brief

Very nice professional review. Nice car.
This is the base model Abarth for the European market
How much do you pay in repairs for the first 10 years?
Would it last 10 years?
I’ve heard issues
They should put automatics in the Honda Civic Si, Subaru Wrx Sti stx etc...
My dream
Love it
this i great review, good job.
I'd also like your already great reviews to be a bit longer.
the Beats upgrade is actually really disappointing
Great car.....great review.....minus the pizza joke....
They would put Italian colours on the cars a lot to distinguish them
Oh so it’s the same as the entry level Abarth in Europe but with Fiat badges on it and an auto box.😟😟
Yep! And in a desperate attempt to boost slumping sales, all 2018 and 2019 Fiat 500 models had the turbo. Too little, too late though.
Time to trade in that A7...
i'm one of the "next generation of people", well, I love manual...I am a manual enthusiast LOL
I wish these cars got better crash test results... I'd buy one if they were safer. The Chevy Spark scores much better, but I don't like the Spark. :(
I don't think it says Pizza I think it says Root Beer.
Show us the engine
I find it very offensive that you equate the Italian flag to a pizza delivery car! There is some serious pride that goes with those colors!
You would be a good cars salesman
You could get a Mazda3 for that kind of coin.
Show Me What I Need To Know the Mazda 3 is slower and not as fun to drive. 25 grand in a Mazda 3 you get f all for options.
25K gets you a faster "GT" with the 2.4L. Not to mention better reliability than a Fiat.
You’ve got no idea about fiat...cause you’ve never owned one...A fiat 500 T would blow the socks off a Mazda with performance handling and reliability...
Abarth is much better, louder, more fun. Also why would need a backup camera lol
it's all about manual transmission, auto is a waste if you have a turbo.
Deric Suttles depends but your right as an enthusiast. Ow the autos are dual clutch and shift faster than any human alive
Its too bad Chrysler, Dodge abd fiat have awful reliabilty
Great car for Luca Sbisa to deliver those pizzas.
same horse power as abrath 135

You can get a automatic license over here , but can only drive an automatic with it
Ian Townsend. 👍😎
'Goldilocks amount of power'? Well they do have bears in Canada. All the better to drive you with.......
Lol about your manual comments. I'm 16, bought my first car a month ago, and its a 5 speed, and it's better then this car in every single way. I love my abarth.
"And you'll love all the extensive interior updates for 2015"...actually there are zero interior updates for 2015!
+jahbrother I suppose you never watched at Fiat official site ..
I'd liked the color combo, until you said "pizza delivery" 🍕 (in a good content) lol
This car looks violently italian
Todays car enthusiasts gotta suffer the gradual extinction of the standard transmission because my generation is what's known as lazy millennials.
Be careful with the transmission, Chrysler built it for North America 😂
I think its a great car for us elder women..lolol
Želim gaaa

Automatic...
Piece of crap underpowered and over priced put your money somewhere else
Wowwwww, that was a really insightful comment buddy. How did you think of such a thought... please do tell all of us ALL about it and do NOT hold back jimmy!
Paul Michael Recchia If you own one get your money back pablo
25k for that? Fiat must be smoking some crazy shit
Around $19,500 US, that’s CAD
I am Italian and that happens to be the colors of our flag. Pizza delivery nice racist comment. I stopped watching there.
It wasn't racist it was the truth. Just like every other Italian dude is named Vinny Bag of Donuts.

Shawna Graham stop whining!
Hahahahahahahah
The car reviewer is American, and Italian isn’t really considered a race in America. Ethnicity sure but not a race really.
Paint job looks great.
It is italian garbage. I beat one on a heavy SUV Honda Pilot and I was laughing all the way. Save your money. That thing is crap.
