@@thegeekfanatic okay yeah, Palpatine isn't someone to take lightly but two things that show that Grievous is stronger. 1. Grievous literally kidnapped Palpatine while also fighting off several other Jedi and Clones so if that doesn't make him stronger then I don't know what to tell you. Secondly Palpatine barely had any form during his fight with Windu when he was fighting the other Jedi and more looked like he was blindly swinging the sword around and everyone else was just unlucky enough to get hit.
When Dooku says "so, there is room for improvement", that can both apply to both Grievous himself & his skill. Consider this, if he replaced his white armor plates around his body with ones made of Beskar or "Mandalorian steel". The metal was durable enough to withstand a direct blaster shot and could repel lightsaber strikes. If had replaced the parts of his body like so, those blaster bolts Obi-Wan fired would've bounced right of him.
@@carlchristopher7015 Yes, he did fire the blaster bolt at Grievous's organs. But had to bend the armor plating back to do so. Beskar, aside from being "blaster proof", is extraordinarily hard to bend. Even with "force enhanced" strength.
@@susanwalls3580 Agreed, but you said "those blaster bolts Obi-Wan fired would've bounced right of him". In your own words beskar can't be bent so he wouldn't have fired the blaster in the first place, which is what I was trying to address

I love how Fisto's mastery of Shii-Cho is what lets him fight Grevious so effectively. Shii-Cho in it's mastered form is characterized by it's wide sweeps, ability to engage multiple angles and opponents, and is described as both wild & unpredictable, which counters Grevious' own attempts at intimidation & overhwleming number of attacks. Fisto can just cut at Grevious' angles, box him in and gradually disarm him, which prevents the cyborg from going on the flurry of offense he's good at.
1:22-1:42 Power.. "That power will only consume you.."🙀👏 Phil Lamarr does a good job with Kit Fisto's role. Giving me flashbacks of Jack from Samurai Jack but a wise Jedi Master. 😎👍👏
One of my biggest issues with Clone Wars is that we hardly ever saw how other Jedi preformed or acted during the Clone Wars. Despite being an anthology series, the show focused on Anakin, Ahsoka and Kenobi most of the time. Not that that’s a bad thing, but at the same time, the show could have expanded on the lesser known Jedi more. Moments like this make the show more interesting for me.
Like how Fisto and Obi Wan are the only jedi that can go against 4 armed Grevious, while 5 Jedi against Grevious using 2 lightsaber went hard to defeat him

If your wondering why general grievous in canon is weak then in the 2003 version is because George Lucas himself said that he was never intended to be that strong. During the production of 2-d micro series which was directed by genndy tartakovsky George Lucas only left the note on grievous was that he was a jedi killer so genndy assumed that grievous could take on Jedi masters and knights and could only be defeated by more skilled master like mace windu or obi wan. When genndy showed George Lucas he applaud him but Lucas thought it was a bit too much for grievous to that strong because he was only meant to take on jedi knights. One more thing George Lucas didn’t have a lot of time when making the prequels trilogy because of the three year deadline of every film and because it was time consuming. In the end he really tried his best yes there are a lot of problems with the prequels but things can go much worse (looking at you Disney) and why he created 2008 to give more inside of the clone wars.
False, I forgot where I read it, if I find, will come back & link it. Lucas said long time ago Gregoria was supposed to be the Darth Vader of the prequels, not sure what happened…
@@KashMoneyZack well he changed his mind. That’s what happened. It didn’t really make sense. Grievous didn’t have too many advantages the way bounty hunters did. He didn’t have all the gear needed to combat them. What he did have was a profound tactical mind, which is what the 2008 Clone Wars focused on. He wasn’t necessarily meant to be a Jedi Master killer. A Jedi Killer could mean something like Boba Fett. Most of the Jedi he killed were Order 66 survivors, namely Padawans or untested Knights. Never a Master or a battle hardened Jedi.
I really wish Grievous could've been a more serious threat throughout the clone wars show. Besides this episode he just feels like a saturday morning villain.

Cool bit about Kit's fighting style. Hes a form 1 master. Specializing in fighting multiple opponents at once. So basically, the more sabers the genral used the comfortable Kit got
No. Palpatine was the most powerful Sith Lord in the galaxy and the best lightsaber duelist the sith ever had to offer at the time and no one except for Yoda, Anakin in his Prime, and Windu stood a chance against him in a Lightsaber duel, regardless of how many sabers they had.
you underrate him in that fight it was against the most powerful sith who had mastered every lightsaber combat and kit had managed to fend off some blows against the form which counters his also kit was selected as one of the jedis to take him down so kit was actually one of the strongest jedis of that genertion
Kit’s fighting style Has a weakness and that is That it isn’t very good against A single opponent that’s why he was putting the work on grievous because the multiple lightsaber’s Allowed Him to fight at his best now against palpatin you had a single very powerful enemy and that’s why Fisto lost
@@liamdalemon1525 Its not like that lmaoo, it about quantity and quality, form 1 is good against multiple opponent that is weaker than jedi, grevious is no force user and not a sith or jedi trained so his dueling is not that great, by adding more light sabre is just adding quantity if he only have 1 he would be sht on by kit in like a second. But form 1 is weak against a single opponent or blade that is of equal or greater strength. Man im a fucking nerd
People say that Grievous killing the Padawan with a blaster is stupid, but I think that it makes sense. He had seen how badly the Padawan wanted to prove he's a worthy Jedi, and felt that it would be fitting to humiliate him by not even giving him the respect of a lightsaber battle. You can see that Grievous wasn’t even struggling. This wasn't him saying "I'm weak", this was him saying "Piss off, you're below me".
Fisto kinda reminds me of an Asian martial artist or samurai like Sensei Wu or Master Splinter. He clearly has elements of it too which makes him underrated.
Kit Fisto fighting style revolves around the Form 1: Shii Choo, a form that specializes on multiple enemies and disarming the opponent. Against General Grievous multiple arm’s anatomy that handles multiple lightsabers alongside magna guards. Kit Fisto got this in the bag if he wanted to defeat Grievous and his guards
Had it been a sustained one-on-one fight, Kit Fisto stood a good chance of defeating Grievous. Fisto was a master of Form 1, Shii-Cho, which was used very effectively against more than one opponent. Due to Grievous wielding four, that essentially made him multiple opponents in one, and Fisto would immerse himself in the force, becoming wild with it, like riding the rapids on a raging river, and he would have been a real handful for Grievous to handle.
I watched this video years and years ago (uploaded by someone else), and this was the top comment that I wanted to share with y’all: Kit Fisto: “Let’s go home, R6- . . . BACK TO JAMAICA!”

So this guy and mace window got killed by palpatine? Bro he went out like a wimp. They did him dirty.
To be fair, Fisto lasted notably longer than the other two that came with them. And Shii-Cho, the style he specialized in, was noted to have a weakness when fighting against single enemies. The reason it worked so well against Grievous is because his method of fighting allowed Kit Fisto to treat it like fighting multiple enemies at once because of the multiple lightsabers.
@@MrMoros1 exactly right
@@MrMoros1 he does have that but... HE STILL MANAGED TO WIN AGAINST GRIEVOUS! THIS IS LIKE BEING ABLE TO KILL KRATOS AND THEN DYING TO SOME RANDOM THUG!
@@liamdalemon1525 palpatine is not some random thug bro lol.
You mean the blaster bolts he fired into Girevous' organs?
@@carlchristopher7015 Yes, he did fire the blaster bolt at Grievous's organs. But had to bend the armor plating back to do so. Beskar, aside from being "blaster proof", is extraordinarily hard to bend. Even with "force enhanced" strength.
@@susanwalls3580 Agreed, but you said "those blaster bolts Obi-Wan fired would've bounced right of him". In your own words beskar can't be bent so he wouldn't have fired the blaster in the first place, which is what I was trying to address
@@carlchristopher7015 (Upon reviewing original comment)... huh. you're right. If the armor wasn't bendable, then there would be no reason/way to fire a blaster bolt into Grievous.
the empire was on a budget
Fun fact: kit fisto learned a very old fighting technique that makes it easier to defend against multiple attackers, but harder for 1v1
Honestly I think that would be perfect for me
Form I Shii Cho
@@MackeyBigBoy4014 yeah boi!!!
This doesnt make a sense when you think about it. How some technique can be good against multiple oponents but weak agains one? When you fight multiple oponnets you are fighting against one and another and another in the same time. Its like fighting with one oponent but harder
@@Vatras888 it's more of a defensive fighting style, this is why he dies against fighting Palpatine
Like how Fisto and Obi Wan are the only jedi that can go against 4 armed Grevious, while 5 Jedi against Grevious using 2 lightsaber went hard to defeat him
SHUT UP 😡😡😤😤🙄.
Ashoka was another one that he fought when she was just a padawan. He pulled out all four....I guess he knew who her master was.
@@ricoy.9258
Eh, she would have lost and never stood a genuine chance him. Kit Fisto & Obi-Wan legitimately held their own. Though I think without their reliance on the force, they'd eventually be overwhelmed.
@@ricoy.9258 yeah Ahsoka was kind of just Lucky she even survived Grievous
The first time she faced him was in a fight and flight scenario
@@ricoy.9258 ahsoka got smacked both times she fought grievous
Kit fisto is a legend
got to give it to Grievous, he was truthfull to Dooku about how Fisto escaped. Also how Dooku didn't directly insult Grievous by just saying that he had room for improvement.
disney should honestly make a sort of side show that showed us jedi we didn't get to see much of and focus around them (ex: jedi like plo koon, yoda, bariss, luminara, nhedar vebb, fisto, sensee tinn, adi gallia, depa billaba* (kanan jaruss's master), caleb dumb (kanan jarruss), ect.
I agree and agen kolar, Quinlan Vos(although he got dark disciple), Aayla Secura, Shaak ti, eath koth, etc. would be cool to see more of as well. Seeing missions of different Jedi besides the main characters would allow for new opportunities and see the different philosophies and personalities among them.
Tales of the Jedi would be a great option
@@wockfantasy_ i actually made the comment before it was announced, so it's nice my wish came true
1:14 The sound of Grievous' lightsabers spinning is so satisfying
"I wield great power, Jedi fool!"
"With great power comes great responsibility."
"W-what?"
"Oh sorry. Wrong series. Ahem... That power will only consume you."
You can't really hear it very well, but the score for this fight is incredible. Definitely worth a listen on its own.
This is why he's a council member in the first place. And also why Windu took Fisto with him to the Chancellor's office. He's one of the best duelists in the order. Now it's got me wondering how Cin Drallig would have faired against Sidious
0:07 probably the smartest move in all of star wars, caught that fool lacking
Yeah, I wished he used those tactics more instead of just throwing random hits and losing all the duels.
Plo Koon and Kit Fisto needed more screen time. And also some more recognition
Plo Koon had a lot of screen time in the series
@@axelnilsson5124he needed some action tho
Kit Fisto was one of the best trained , most powerful jedi. I really liked him as a character and wished he had some appearance in the live action prequels
I love how they made Kit Fisto Basically Body Grievous till the droids pulled up. Always found Kit Fisto interesting and wished to see more.
I honestly think Kit Fisto could've actually taken down Grievous if the guards hadn't shown up, or at least mess him up a LOT
only cause grevence needed rest after getting jumped by a bigger threat than 3 magma gaurds 2 jedi and a clone squad grevence a g for defending his crib against home invaders
@@welkingunther5417 if thats the case he shouldve killed him wen they had him surrounded and dead to rights
Such an underrated Jedi I wish he was used better in the prequel trilogy
This is technically a home invasion story if you look at it from Greivous' perspective
crippled veteran and pet bravely defends their home as it is invaded by war criminals and child soldiers.
Home alone
Grievous took all the lightsabers, left nothing for the future generation, that’s why Anakin made sure they wouldn’t need them. What a nice guy.
In Fisto’s case, all I can say is, “Two blades, twice the status.”
Finally, someone who actually understands what Grievous was meant to be.
False, I forgot where I read it, if I find, will come back & link it. Lucas said long time ago Gregoria was supposed to be the Darth Vader of the prequels, not sure what happened…
Says the guy who sales NFT’s
Guess that makes sense, but still. I really did like Genndy's take on Grevious.
Kit Fisto can never be in a scene without smiling atleast once 😁
I really wish Grievous could've been a more serious threat throughout the clone wars show. Besides this episode he just feels like a saturday morning villain.
villain? Dude was clearly the victim those jedi scum broke into his crib
Dooku was so proud until he found out Fisto escaped. Don't think i ever seen him that happy 🤣

qui gon jin and kit fisto embody what a jedi should be
I like how frustrated Kit Fisto looks at 2:07 because he knows he almost defeated Grievous in single combat if it wasn‘t for the magma guards.
They were literally on equal terms, but Fisto was always in control, unlike Grievous, who fought without thinking. but still the fact that Fisto and Grievous went like a draw
@@otsutsuki2433 I don't think Fisto considered Grievous much of a threat. He threw him to the ground then just waited for him to get back up. Could've very easily ended the general right there.

Grevious: Dissed by Kit Fisto
Palpatine: Killed him in less than 10 seconds.
There is a difference in fighting skill for Grievous and Palpatine.
@@MackeyBigBoy4014 Yah, Palpatine fought with all the powers of the dark side, Grievous just had a CPU.
Palpatine is insane with lightsaber combat. He mopped and toyed with Savage and Maul. But I think he started trying a little when Maul raged after Savage death.

Kit Fisto was always underrated and I loved seeing more of his character in TCW! He was cool and smooth and I loved this duel with he and Grievous! I'm glad he didn't seek revenge of the Jedi's death, as they say, it's not the Jedi way.
Cool bit about Kit's fighting style. Hes a form 1 master. Specializing in fighting multiple opponents at once. So basically, the more sabers the genral used the comfortable Kit got
The finest shii-cho practitioner ever
Those spinning lightsabres are satisfying
If only Kit Fisto had 2 lightsabers in the fight against Palpatine, then he would've probably survived
Maul: “You’re both tools for greater powers…”
I love how Fisto was able to retrieve Nahdar’s lightsaber back
General grievous be like perfect lightsaber for my collection
This is how I want to remember Kit Fisto. Not the ROTS version.
you underrate him in that fight it was against the most powerful sith who had mastered every lightsaber combat and kit had managed to fend off some blows against the form which counters his also kit was selected as one of the jedis to take him down so kit was actually one of the strongest jedis of that genertion
MAAN Its soo good to see that my favourite jedi, Kit Fisto absoulutely destroys Grievous.

General grievous is my favorite childhood star wars character in the franchise
Would be funny if Dooku said, “By the way General, don’t hang up on me again!” 😂
Where was this kit fisto when he faced palpatine?
Kit’s fighting style Has a weakness and that is That it isn’t very good against A single opponent that’s why he was putting the work on grievous because the multiple lightsaber’s Allowed Him to fight at his best now against palpatin you had a single very powerful enemy and that’s why Fisto lost
@@banditgotgame1721 that’s fair, he does use form 1

@@banditgotgame1721 so the less lightsabers the enemy has the worse Kit has it? I wonder how he would fare against someone with no lightsabers
I was surprised to see him being killed by the chancellor so easily with a steb
That Jedi nadar had been waiting for his moment then gets recked lol
Never noticed but Kit got his apprentices lightsaber back
Kit Fisto fighting style revolves around the Form 1: Shii Choo, a form that specializes on multiple enemies and disarming the opponent. Against General Grievous multiple arm’s anatomy that handles multiple lightsabers alongside magna guards. Kit Fisto got this in the bag if he wanted to defeat Grievous and his guards
0:08
RIP
Nahdar Vebb
Had it been a sustained one-on-one fight, Kit Fisto stood a good chance of defeating Grievous. Fisto was a master of Form 1, Shii-Cho, which was used very effectively against more than one opponent. Due to Grievous wielding four, that essentially made him multiple opponents in one, and Fisto would immerse himself in the force, becoming wild with it, like riding the rapids on a raging river, and he would have been a real handful for Grievous to handle.
fisto kit leaving jumping would be the perfect time to do this 🖕

It can't be the Star Wars Prequel/Clone Wars era without a jedi getting killed off!
Grievous didnt have fear, surprise, or intimidation on his side. He shouldve fled
To think Palpatine one tapped him is crazy 😭 Sidious is strong
Kit Fisto Could of ended it all just by commanding the droid to turn the star fighter on Grievous and shoot everything they have at him before leaving.
