For a Grade 9, how many alternative interpretations or examples of detailed analysis do you have to give?
Also, do you have any tips on how to write faster? I can write a good essay while typing but struggle with time management while writing on paper
Hello! I tend to stick to around 3-4 significant moments per essay (in order of how they happen) but might reference (or compare to) other moments that link to what i'm talking about too. It's not necessarily always about how many alternative interpretations you can offer as you can zoom in on different words and methods to expand on the SAME interpretation you were already arguing too! Essentially, you want to make sure you're choosing quotations/references that give you lots to say. My main piece of advice for grade 9 is always try to link back to the writer's purpose - see the text as a tool by a writer to communicate something important and link your analysis of quotes to that.
