I just got a Legator NRA-7 and I can also attest they their quality control has improved. The body is of the most comfortable I’ve ever played; and I’m super happy with my purchase from them 🙏
Can you do a video on the cheapest multiscale guitars from various brands that are good? I'm sure I'm not the only one that would be interested in trying it, but cautious about spending a lot on one in case I find it hard to get used to/I just don't like it for whatever reason.
For me, getting used to multi-scale was instant - as soon as I stopped thinking about it. Because multiscale is much more ergonomic and natural than straight frets. When I got my first multi-scale though, it took a while to get used to because I was trying to get used to it. Once I stopped thinking about it and just played, it was instant.
I bought a 7 string legator ninja 200 and honestly love it. No noticable issues after 2 months of use. Neck is super comfortable, stock pickups sounds nice. Its my first 7 string and i’m really happy with the purchase.
25.5 to 27 is the perfect fan imo, at least for heavy down tuning. Awesome review, was curious to see if they'd gotten any better since that horrible review on Arnold's video
I really wanna and still want to believe in Legator, but after my experience with the horrible QC, I’m super reluctant to venture that route again. I’d love to play another since they’ve upped their QC, but with the blatant disregard for quality that I’ve ran into with the 2 I owned, I wonder how much better can it actually be? I may give em another shot just to say I did it lol
@Wooly Bully thanks for reporting back and definitely not just gloating about your insanely expensive collection of guitars that most of us will never play much less own.
I can say the quality control for legator does need improvement from the 7 string I bought a year ago. Scuffed paint, shipped with the wrong type of strings (strings for a 6 not a seven), bad electrical buzz from no shielding not even metallic paint on the internal cavity and dead notes from a bad setup or fretwork. It looks nice and plays okay but there were more cons than pros. I hope the company gets their stuff together in the future.
So are those active pickups? Wondering because I want to order one, but I’d put Fishmans in it, so I’m curious as to how much work I’d have to do. And what is the body made of?
At one time I had a love affair with Legator, mainly due to the first guitar I bought from them being amazing (2016 Ninja R100), over the next year I purchased several more and was just let down over and over again by the hit or miss quality... Really a bummer. Hope they step it up more. But I'll probably never buy another. Especially after getting my Kiesel.
I'm in the same boat as you. Got a 2015 Ninja R300 that I loved and then purchased a few more...that all declined in quality, Then I jumped ship to Kiesel and won't be looking back!
Is that bridge made out of cheap metal? They have a model I want for $1,000 with Fishman pickups and a kill switch but it uses that same proprietary Bridge they have so I don't know how high-quality it'll be.
Cort. Or wait for it to go on clearance. Legator puts guitars on sale/clearance all the time. Just check their website once in a while. Dont pay more than $300 or $400 for this guitar. Also, check this m.thomannmusic.com/harley_benton_fanfret_fbb_2018_dlx.htm about the same quality if not better! And it'll be about $300 shipped. $235 before shipping.
Legator would have to knock it out of the park with price and quality of their guitars to win me back. My experience with them was terrible. The monorail bridges they use, as well as the mono rail headless bridges are made of the softest and cheapest metal... Might aswell be play-doh. The pickups are unusable. You hit the nail on the head though trey... The are pricing of guitars for what you get is ridiculous...yet the actual guitars they do sell that have fishman pickups are pushing 2k.
@@kevintestagrossa these are my thoughts exactly. I bought an Opus FF8 back in March that on paper wouldn't have been horrible but the abomination that showed up at my door after being delayed over a month for "Quality Control" was just inexcusable. Receiving the shipping label to send it back from them was also a nightmare. I can't see myself giving them any sort of positive press or buying another guitar from them for a while just because of how shitty the experience was overall. Even if these new models are improved Id still much rather give my money to literally any other company. Fuck Legaturd.
@@ktxdgqtx yeah literally for 1k you could get leagues better with kiesel for example. I was surprised there were grover tuners on this guitar trey has aha.
Shame so many people have had bad experiences with them. My experience was great and it’s one of the nicest guitars I’ve owned. But then a good friend of mine spent a few hundred more than me and got what I’d call the guitar equivalent of a “lemon”... so, they seem to be really hit and miss.
Hmmmm looks like your pricing is a little off. Cheers! www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-ESP-M1000M-NS?src=Y0802G00SRCHCAPN&adpos=1o2&scid=scplpESP+M1000M+NS&sc_intid=ESP+M1000M+NS&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI166-idja4AIVlBh9Ch2aTAytEAQYAiABEgLeW_D_BwE
I just went through a wonderful 4-5 week process of ordering a Legator Ninja, returning a Legator ninja, then patiently awaiting my refund so I could use that money for a guitar that wasn’t an unplayable piece of shit. I just can’t support this company, came with broken parts, tool marks, unplayable setup, scratches, mislaid nut, the list goes on. I’ve owned 35 guitars over 21 years, it was the worst I’ve ever owned/played. Not an exaggeration.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience with our company. Please feel free to email me at info@legatorguitars.com to see if there's something we can do to help. Thank you

Anyone notice Warheart feel in the intro sweeps? Overall nice 90's melodeath vibes in the demo song!
Jere Tiitta I felt some Vital Remains there for sure!
Absolutely. Was looking for someone to point that out.

Your playing is amazingly improving Trey! Wow!
Your playing has improved drastically trey!!!
IKR
the sweep picking part sounds like BTBAM's alaska!
The song kinda sounds like “Jester Race” era In Flames
I was always more of a Whoracle/Clayman guy but I'll take it!
Came to the comments to say the same thing LOL. Guess I know what I'm listening to tonight.

The pickups sounded great..
Not thin at all..
Great demo !!!!

You definitely should. The newer models are honestly night and day, the QC has vastly improved.
@Wooly Bully thanks for reporting back and definitely not just gloating about your insanely expensive collection of guitars that most of us will never play much less own.
Wow that's a deadly guitar too
And deadly playing again
Damn just real deadly!
On the plus side, this guitar is now in the >$400 range due to their clearance sale. If the quality is there then even better.

love that song after you introed the video. Its the style I want to do. Heavy but with lots of styles
The intro sweeps reminded me of Alaska by BTBAM
Just bought the bright orange 7 string version of this
I heard that dean theater lead on the neck pick up.. nice job
Ha Silverchair riff. that's a throwback... nice ; )

Thanks Trey
Damn that demo song is catchy
Love your playing, Trey!

I find myself wanting to try one..gah.
ayayayayayayay sounds like Legator still has a bit of learning to do
now that you mentioned it, the satin neck does look cheap. i thought it would look something like schecters blackjack models
YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAH IM A FREAK. OF NATURE!
The attack of the green dwarf! Run for cover!
God this guy is an awesome lead guitarist
Quick question for anyone. What's with some players with the wristbands on their guitars. Does it serve a purpose?
You can move it throughout the neck to mute strings, usually for tapping
Damn, this demo is good!
Lol. Nice touch with the Silverchair 🤣🤘🤘
In flames vibes
Gear gods and Jared dines should write a song together it would be sick!
Can the pups be replaced with standard humbuckers or do I need a custom set?
I think regular humbuckers don't work, could be wrong tho.
I'm also curious.
You need customs, or just use EMGs or Fishmans
@@wavesz Do EMGs/Fishmans work because of some rail system instead of pole peaces or is there some other technology behind it?
@@josuastangl7140 Yeah they work well, i think it's because they don't hace the pole magnets like most passive pickups brands

Rhapsody of Fire opening?

legator guitars feel great just it sucks how they always have blemishes
Nice In flames influenced demo!!!! Very nice playing, cheers dude, from Greece.

Nice, btbam vibes!
That riff gave me a7x vibes no offense. Great demo.

I'm surprised all the people that think the leads are close to BTBAM .... Its children of bodom kids .. came out waaaay before 'ALASKA'
Agile guitars are winning
Not sure if this was said but sounds like it went out of tune after that hard jamming.
$800!? Are they high? You can get an LTD with emgs for almost half that price.
With multiscale ? Nope
@@olivierjsp Exactly I get people don't like legator but assuming the guitar is actually good I think it is a fair price.

Every Legator I have tried is garbage. Like I can’t believe people play these things. So much work to make things feel and sound good.
Sorry to hear, I hope you get a chance to try some of our new stuff! : )
i have a client who bought a legator then returned it because the paint job was terrible, it costed $1000

Why's that? This is the first time I've really looked into this brand so I'm pretty neutral on it-- any info would be appreciated :)
Tune that thing...yikes!
$800? Pass.
Had me until painted neck 🤮
