What an inspirational young lady and to have a chat with Dame Kelly Holmes before she flies out to Paris must've been so exciting for her! Go on Phoebe, run for you and enjoy the experience! :)
Slightly odd the report didn’t mention we also have the number 1 and number 2 ranked athlete on times in the world (and Phoebe beat the no 2 at trials….)! Never known GB to have such strength in one event at an Olympics. 1-2-3 possibilities….
Good luck to all of the Athletes 👍 And I just want to see them all run to the best of their ability! And this girl is so young with so much potential ( and yrs ahead of her to get stronger& fitter) And I do hope Keely Hodgkinson releases her inner Demon's ( she seems so laid back) and turns on the turbos!
@@russell10 The result of the final could be so unpredictable as there every chance that three of the athletes will want to take the lead, Gill, Hodgkinson and Moraa then try and dictate the pace, especially Moraa. Let's hope there are are no collisions and trips ala Athing Mu!
@@Logans3Run it could well be unpredictable but I don’t think keely will want to lead. And we know Jemma’s plan is just to stick in Keely’s shadow so Gill or Moraa will have to lead I think or it’ll be slow
Wow ! What a phenomenal achievement , particularly at her young age … and being photogenic as well - all the Sports companies will be lining up for her parents’ signature (as she is not of legal age yet )!
I expect she's getting offers of athletics scholsrships from major US universities. Being a varsity athlete at a big time program at a US uni is a fantastic experience.
Allez Phoebe !
Let's hope that she does really well in Paris but we must not forget that the times that she has achieved to date do not put her anywhere near Keely or Jemma. she may 'only' be 2 or 3 seconds slower but that is quite a lot in distance. I would really like to see her get a medal and she may do so but I think that she is more likely to do well in 4 years time
That's about right and level headed post. Hope Phoebe gets to the final. Then if it's a fast 1st lap Moraa did 56 sec at world's then Keely, Jemma and Moraa are most likely ahead of her. If it's a slower first lap 58+ secs then Phoebe has a better chance of a medal as 2nd lap she is very strong 58.88, Moraa 60, Keeley 58.30. However Moraa needs to run fast in the first lap 56 to win, unless she makes a mistake and thinks doing 58 will win, because Keely and maybe others will beat her in the 2nd lap. Anyway see what happens is easier?
@@nicolad8822 Sure. It would be nice if Phoebe could get to the final, she should do, but don't know how tough the semi finals are going to be? If she does she could do well.
You should understand that she hasn't run in a fast race as such, when she run 1:57 it was gun to tape pretty much, she even passed the pacer. She beat Jemma on a fairly windy day when track times were slow. I'm certain in the right race such as the London Diamond league she would be a good two seconds quicker.
@@user-lt1nj7nq4zI understand very well. 1.57 was higher 1.57.86 so 2 seconds off this would be some accomplishment 1.55.86? You need to appreciate that she is still very young, she hasn't got that speed training of Keely, Gemma and Moraa. Don't forget the U18:World Record for her age is 1.57.18. If Phoebe gets to the final 800m and she should do it. She needs to run more eveningly with the first lap around 57.50sec or 58 sec. then she will get her overall best time whatever that will be?
She looks like a sensational talent, if she can keep training hard then the sky is the limit. I know it is early days but with her height and Jeeley and Afa Moe maybe 1500 is her distance to eventually replace Laura Muir.
Clearly didn't follow it in actual timeline, I imagine her parents showed her a RUclips video when she was young and getting into athletics by which time the video would have been perhaps 6-8 years old.

This is the type of girl who should be a role model of other young girls growing up. Not the 'reality tv' brainless wonders

Anybody else think that Kelly, who is now 54, is beautiful and looks barely 40?
Nah. She looks great but she looks her age. Doing it gracefully rather than stretched and pumped
