Sounds like the beginnings of a good fanfic! I try not to think about ALW and Sarah’s relationship when I watch POTO or LND, it makes everything so uncomfortable and cringe. Especially LND being post breakup... I like to think they escaped to New York together, not Coney Island though. Erik would’ve gotten his shit together and learned to live a fairly normal life with his family, writing and performing with his wife, son and daughter (no 10 yr gap means more kiddos 😁). He’d probably open a music school and Christine would still be an actress. I imagine Madame and Tante (aunt) Giry visiting often too

I mean. . . shit. I just watched the Australian pro shot, deciding I needed more than just clips. But crap, I could only see the flaws, the wasted potential, then there's THIS! They make me believe in the melodrama, the way they look so desperate to touch yet the weight of a decade sits between them. I don't mind the claggy lyrics as much, I feel the soar of their feelings in the music. There were good parts in the Australian one, but I couldn't get into it, lost in the emotions of the characters. Here though! LND is a divisive musical, yet I can't help but swirl in delight at the humor, the camp, the history, the melodrama of it. I think if they leaned more into THAT or fleshed out some characters then they would've had a MASSIVE hit. Make it more rock! Make Meg and Phantom interact more instead of relying on previous material, give Gustave his own song (all on his own) to show his delight with the odd, have Raoul's meeting with Hammerstein to engage with is character early on and contrast with the Erik and Christine's meeting. Heck, this could be such a fun number showing how far Raoul's fallen yet trying to make things right. Hammerstein or some other producer could've also acted as another antagonist especially since it's hinted that Meg uses her body to gain funding for the Phantom's Act. Alas, what could have been! At least we have this delightful treasure to watch again and again beneath many a moonless nights 🤣
YES! There is so much potential here that with a couple more rewrites would have given the show a much smoother transition from Phantom to Love Never Dies. I think they should have delved into the idea that Raoul secretly KNOWS that Gustave is not his kid and THAT is why he became a drunk, his song (Why Does She Love Me) should have been about THAT instead of him whining about how pathetic he is…it would have made him more sympathetic to. They should also have delved more into the Giry’s relationship with the Phantom, given us a REASON why Madam Giry has grown cold towards Christine (when in the original show she was more motherly towards her) and fleshed out exactly what Meg wants from the Phantom, does she want him romantically or does she just want his attention…is she trying to become Christine 2.0 but then Christine comes back and throws a wrench in the works. ..this should have been explored more because I don’t think any of this was made clear enough. And fully understanding Meg, and giving her a better song (bathing beauty is annoying and doesn’t add anything to the story) where she can tell us what she wants from the Phantom, what her dream is would have made the ending even more powerful if we can see him literally push her aside for Christine. I keep hoping Love Never Dies will eventually get a rewritten one of these days and maybe a mini revival because the music is too stinking good for it not to have one.

I dont know but i dont like this . I mean the video is great and perfect quality but i dont like LND after the changes. It just feels like they are rushing the singing and forcing some moves. Like they want to get off the stage ASAP. I mean im a big fan of Sierra and Ramin and Poto&Lnd but this version for me doesnt do it
