Idk why I started laughing when I read, "and starts capitalizing letters before starting a sentence..." It just sounded funny. Also, I noticed he does capitalize an "I" once. He was still using Comic Sans, though.
to be honest, we got off easy. we really broke him, but we didnt do enough damage to warrent him going all-out. considering while you go free, this sans has to go the rest of his life without his little brother. and others, if he wasn't the only casualty. also consider: killing papyrus *overrides* whatever sans was going to say about your progress. so, in any timeline where sans dies, youll see this moment. *including a failed genocide run* that's right. sans was so, so very close to getting up and stopping your near-genocide. but you failed at the last check the game has (mettaton) so he can only say what he said about you killing papyrus a million times before. truely the worst timeline beyond a post-genocide timeline is the timeline where you murder almost everyone, but not enough to where sans can actually do anything. so theres this feeling that everyones going to die anyway, alone and in the dark. and we get away scott-free for it. were bastards.
S i n c e w h e n w e r e y o u t h e o n e i n c o n t r o l -Chara P.S these words are actually said by chara when you declined their offer on genocide
It would be amazing if you did a genocide after that and you told him the code. He would get like more aggressive and say stuff like "you don't deserve that title" or something
so, Sans' pacifist judgment... "that doesn't mean you're completely innocent or naive" so does he know about us flirting with Goat Mom, a gelatin blob, and an airplane? xD
Well, being harmless isn't really a virtue. Frisk staying strong and determined signaled that they are capable of a lot. They're not "completely innocent or naive" because of this.
Sans's dialogue always hits my heart. Especially "do you think that even the worst person can change? that everybody can be a good person. if they just tried?"
@@juannaym8488 Yeah, what I meant by that is that I can't help but think that the reason sans even considers this idea in the first place is because it's papyrus mindset and that maybe sans deep down wants his brother to be right but sans himself is more cynical and so he can't. In a way sans and papyrus act kinda like foils to each other and I find their relationship very interesting and a very important part of their character why I pointed that out. Idk just a thought.
When I first played undertale I saw the trailer saying “spare or kill?” I was thinking “well sparing might give me the good ending but I’ll try to get the bad ending first to show how good the good ending is” so I killed everything I ran into (not grinding like you do in genocide) I talked to sans and when he said something about a “special power” I had goose bumps then said that I should take responsibility. That’s when he said “T h e n w h y ‘ d y o u k i l l m y b r o t h e r ?” I was terrified and knew that this game remembers what you do and does not forgive.
now that I think about it, both the LV 1 w/ EXP and LV 2 judgments are probably the way that they are to guilt people who did a pacifist run, then went back to kill someone to see what Sans says (the later monsters give enough EXP to get to LV 2 I think)
When you think about it. Lv 2? You were SO CLOSE to being good. But you had to fuck it up. Not to mention I already told you what love and exp was. Lv 14+ huh? Lol you're obviously tried to do a complete genocide. You tried to get in a fight right here. But you couldn't even go all the way. Lol noob. My favorite us lv 9. "just because you're half way their, don't think you're 50-50 good. 50 percent. 20 percent. *Those are both failing grades*" I found that badass for some reason
+Kuryree in the demo you can get to lv2 without killing toriel or grinding, so both of those are pretty likely the result of people killing things in Ruins then not killing anyone after.
I find it interesting how Sans is simultaneously the silliest character and the scariest character in the game. Edit: Yes, I find him scarier than Flowey.
Psychology and it's as easy as that. If you're weak, mentally or physically, you try to appear tough, strong, unbreakable or/and threatening so people don't mess with you, to make them scared with your bluff so they chose to avoid you thus you avoid the conflict further. If you're strong however, you don't give a shit what people think, you just act however you want to.
+Jinki JongKey The really scary thing is trying to decide why, at any given moment, he chooses not to kill you. Is it because he genuinely thinks of you as a friend who will do the right thing? Or maybe it really is just because of a promise made to a friend through a locked door, and the knowledge that, after all, ending your life would just mean buying a few more hours until you decide to erase the world. It's like the book lying open in Sans and Papyrus's house: Sans's personality is composed of alternating layers of "chilled-out goofball" and "jaded, hopeless badass". However many layers you pry back, though, you can never make out which one lies at his core.
Andrew Cunningham (SPOILERS) I think he doesn't kill you because he gave up trying to change the time lines, he knows you can reset/load, so he thinks that his actions are useless. The others think he's lazy but he just lost hope... That's what he says when he fights against you in the genocide run, and if he tries to kill you at this moment, it's because he knows you're going to destroy the world : "seing what comes next, I can't afford not to care anymore". He says something else too : he decided to befriend you because he wants to make you happy, so you're satisfied and you stop resetting.... Maybe he's acting in the neutral/pacific run and he actually hates you... It wouldn't be surprising
I Tripped over a Thunder Stone I am not, the higher level you are the less invincibility frames you have and since his attacks only deal one damage you will be always taking 2 damage per turn.
Akilah Felix but is that really supposed to be decided by you? to me, it *loox* like you think overusing jokes isn’t *punny.* sure, they can get old, but overuse shouldn’t be the *determining* factor in what puns *strike your funny bone.* you aren’t making much *sans* to me, it’s a bit *comical.*
This just proves how sans is such a brilliant character. He is sooo mysterious and he knows everything. He is that kind of character that makes you drop your jaw. I just love him so much.
+Evie Doodleberry That scared me just watching it. Sans has only ever scared me so bad twice before. Once with his "You'd be dead where you stand" line, and once just before entering snowdin town on a genocide run, with his first "you're gonna have a bad time" and then vanishing.
Sans only scared me once. No, not the judgements. No, not the MTT Restaurant. Snowdin, after aborting a Genocide run at the last possible second: "you want my advice? if you wanna fight my brother..." *"D o n ' t ."*
Man, it was one heck of a doozy when I entered this game blind. In ANY game like this, I always look for and killed enemies. Always proud when I leveled up and gained exp. "If I was in a video game, I would always be searching for power >:)" So determined to finish any game too. Then this game appeared... I was shocked when this appeared. "But nobody came" I was actually feeling uneasy, but I continued. I killed everyone in the ruins and snowdin. I was so curious about the two skeletons. I liked them. I fought Papyrus...I never wanted to kill him and I couldn't. "What would happen if I spared him?" I asked. I never really paid attention to the mercy option. I spared him and continued. Then I noticed the atmosphere of the game changed. I decided that I wanted to spare everything now. I sped through the game, just wanting to finish it. Sans judged me(2:34)... I couldn't let it end this way. I reset, did true pacifist, and boy I did not regret it. It was absolutely worth it. I also learned more about the story and found mini secrets, since the first time I played it, I was not interested. After I defeated Asriel, I even went back to say "goodbye" to everyone. Undertale was truly a game I never experienced until now.
I don't remember quite well(unfortunately, at the time, I didn't know how to take screenshots), also, I was an easily scared 10 year old back then, so...). But, if it ever happens again, I'll take a screenshot.
DestinyTheDemon I think that it happened because you can only change your name throught modifying files and flowey says your nane after you abort the genocide run. About the second one, that's because the save file is the same until you replace it with the new one.
I was gonna make a comment saying how surprised I was with San's formal talking and then he said "You've killed over 3+ people, that's probably bad, whatever. Don't do that."
@@IdntknowWhy maybe sans only wants you to let toriel live and papyrus live and be happy, so you don't kill toriel nor papyrus and to make papyrus happy don't kill undyne but bad things will happen if alphys suicid*s, undyne will not train anyone and papyrus will be sad SO you don't destroy mettaton, you let toriel papyrus undyne and mettaton live and sans will be happy
This is because he knows that if you fought other monsters it could've been a self-defence, but in Papyrus' case it's not, you killed him in purpose and you're clearly a murderer (And of course he's his brother, but the main point is what I said above)
probably cuz he knows everything will be reset in the end and he became sort of nihilistic upon having to relive the same thing over and over, but he still cares about his brother
Even though i'm a fan, i never knew that "You Dirty Brother Killer" was actually Canon. Go ahead, call me an idiot- I NEVER KNEW! I never heard him say that till i saw this video
Call me heartless (you may be right) but I killed papyrus because I was frustrated. I didn't know if you failed enough, he lets you go. Anyway, when he said that, I stood up, and walked away saying NOPE NOPE NOPE FUCK THIS IM OUT!
That wasn't me that was..... err MY DOG yes my dog and lesser dog were playing and starting to eat papyrus's bone yeah... totally wasn't me chara who's chara never heard of them
Sans' pacifist judgement is one of my favorite video game moments of all time. Sans' words are suprisingly deep, and the music accompanying them has a certain mysticism to it. You get the feeling through the whole thing that, no matter what happens next, your journey wasn't in vain. That no matter what challenges faced you, you stayed determined, and , though your stats didn't increase, you became a better person nonetheless. It's inspiring, really. Just like much of Undertale is. But for some reason, this moment stuck out to me the most.
Judgement Hall is one of my favorite moments too. I personally like the neutral route better though, it just impacted me more. Knowing a lot about the game before hand, I decided I ended up killing most of the standard monsters, but spared all the bosses I could, except Toriel and Mettaton, because it wasn't really very clear what I was supposed to do to spare them. I never felt all that bad, after all, it was just self defense, it wasn't anyone really important, and I did occasionally spare low level enemies if I knocked their health down a bit, plus it was my first time through, so I needed the extra health. But when sans told me to think about what I'd done... it hit me hard. 'I shouldn't have done that, it was wrong' I thought. It hit me surprisingly hard. Sure, in the pacifist route, he says all kinds of nice stuff about you, you did good and all, but the feeling that you could've done better, and honestly really wanted too, that really stuck with me, more than the feeling of a pacifist or genocide run. In a genocide run, I felt terrible, sure, but I was deliberately being evil, I was almost role playing, putting up a front, distancing myself you could say, and in the pacifist, I was a goody goody two shoes, which is great and all, but it's easy to be 'perfect' in a video game, much harder in real life, and thus less realistic in a sense. Not saying I don't love the pacifist ending, I do, but I feel like sans judging me in my first run really hit me more. (it was also my first time, so I'm SUUUURRREEE that had NOTHING to do with it XD!)
@@juandavila8487 Yeah, or just watch a video like a coward so you don't have to kill everyone and feel super depressed the next day when you realize what you just did. (like a coward, as in what Flowey says about 'I bet there's someone watching this right now, but they're too scared to do it themselves')
I remember killing Papyrus during my first time playing (to this day, I still feel bad and wonder what the hell I was thinking). I went through the game often thinking about it, then when I saw Sans in the judgement room, my heart dropped. Because I'd watched videos online, I assumed I was about to fight him, but hearing him ask me "Then why'd you kill my brother?" was probably a lot worse. I already felt horrible, and he just took the hammer to fully bang the nail in. It's amazing how many emotions this dude can make you feel.
so you weren't scared of me huh? welp I don't have a problem with that . just turn your volume up when I give ya a jumpscare .. you'll get triggered |=)
To be honest, I think the Chara jumpscare is much more scary than this, the buildup and the fact that the goddamn game flickers on your computer makes it scarier.
When Sans said "Then why did you kill my brother?" and the 'famous' words "You dirty brother killer" with the total-black eyes, I actually said out loud "NOPE! not gonna kill ANYONE if he's going to send chills down my spine like that!"
+Venomous Greed (Riot) Hehe.. Don't be such a BONEHEAD my friend, we all know that Sans only PUNishes the bad guys and shows his gaster-blaster-master skills to the dirty brother killers I3 hmmm tibia honest then I think we could learn a femur things about not letting Papy pasta away by our hands from Sans... It wouldn't be nice of us to leaf him sans a brother!
My first run was blind, I truly didn't know anything about undertale. I had killed Papyrus and most of the monsters along the way. I didn't know a pacifist route existed, i just played the game as I would any other. When sans told me to reflect , I suddenly felt very bad. Without thinking , I had behaved like a 'monster'. When he alluded to a special power and with which the responsibility to do good, I started to cry. He was right, and i felt so terrible about it. And finally when he finished with 'so why did you kill my brother?' Then left; I sat in the room for five minutes just sobbing. My mind was blown. I think referring to it as 'the game breaking the fourth wall' really doesn't do it justice. To me, it did not break the fourth wall. Almost the opposite in fact, it went deeper than any the game I had played. It organically included the ability to reload saves in a thought provoking way. Breaking the fourth wall makes a story seem less real, but this made it feel *more* real.
Undertale is just a bucket of emotional manipulation. Don't get too drawn in. I did. That did not go well for me. I was criticizing how bad of a person I was for a month. Dark times. XD
Negative? It was a wonderful experience. Yes I was crying because it was sad, but it was really good. Its hard to explain. Why do people enjoy being scared from horror movies? For the thrill. I guess, there's something enjoyable about an intense emotional experience from a story. It makes me love all the characters more too.
***** Comparing enjoying emotional stories to masochism is clever, but a little unfair. I think there's a big difference between getting sexual arousal from physical pain and enjoying emotional stories. Also, calling the people enjoy emotional stories weak reeks of pretentiousness and narcissism. You're referring to my guilt specifically, the guilt is why I was emotional, not what was enjoyable.
***** The guilt was a contributing factor to what made it emotional. And I enjoyed the emotional experience. The two cases are same to me in this scenario.
My brother is playing this game totally blind. I've tried to steer him away from killing as many people as possible, but I still think he's going to end up around LV 10-14. I can't wait to see the look on his face when he learns what EXP really means.
Wow, same was happening w/ 2 Friends, i could stop one, he Made a reset and started pacifist, but the other just was like he liked Saw monsters turn to dust Sans gave him a Bad time :)
@@jojogacha974 he only says that if you've been through the trial before and come back just to see his new reaction, if you kill the toad and other monsters he'll say it's ok it was self defense

". . ." *"T h e n w h y y o u ' d k i l l m y b r o t h e r ?"* -Sans, if you killed his brother (why would you do that ? Papyrus is the nicest person of the underground)
7:50 and 8:23 show why silence is honestly the scariest thing ever. Whenever it’s silent, I try to ensure there’s at least some noise in the background. These moments DON’T help!
Flowey: Here's some advice: Don't let his (Papyrus) brother (sans) find out anything about you. Let's just say he's caused a fair share of my resets. It might not be the exact quote, but Flowey was basically warning us of Sans' wrath if you push too hard.
You got it almost completely right. Also for anyone who doesn’t know, that’s what floweys says after I think 4 or 5 resets at the end of the game if you didn’t do flawed pacifist. (Flawed pacifist being the neutral route you have to complete to go on and do pacifist)
I wouldn't blame Flowey for being terrified of Sans, especially the idea of Sans having nothing to lose and unleashing his wrath on the whole underworld
A Person flowey can feel fear, it just takes a lot to bring it out. Fear isn’t exactly an emotion, it’s more of a reflex like pain. And while I would argue that all emotions technically fit into this definition as well, fear is the first one I would put into the “reflex” category. (Also the whole story on flowey discovering that he can reset wouldn’t make sense if he couldn’t feel fear.)
@@gamoviestudios1388 He actually asks 'why am I shaking?' at one point. I won't say when for spoilers' sake, just in case someone hasn't completed that particular route. But well observed; I wondered if that was just a rare bit of bad writing on Toby's part, but I suppose without a soul, Flowey literally can't feel fear properly.
i did the pacifist route on my first time without knowing... I was just listening to Toriel who said "Try engaging a friendly conversation" and that's what i did.
@@-Solidwater i've also done a failed genocide. of course, it was actually my second run since i did pacifist first but then i said "okay i'm gonna do genocide now" and had no idea i was supposed to grind monster kills
After giving you one of his codewords, Sans ends with the phrase, "See you later." But it's time travel, and you presumably get better, and therefore faster, at the game. Wouldn't he therefore be more correct if he said, "See you earlier?"
I saw this comment from TV Tropes that summarises why Sans gives each grade for you. 2:33 First, the best possible judgment you can get is only if you have killed nobody. This is not necessarily a True Pacifist Run though, because a player might still mess up and kill Asgore or Flowey, and even if they don’t, they’ll still get a Neutral ending if they don’t go to the True Lab. However, killing Asgore or Flowey would be rather out of character for the player at that point, since they have learned how to solve their problems nonviolently. 3:27 Approaching Sans with more than 0 EXP, but still LV 1, will make him disgusted with you. After all, it’s pretty much impossible that any player would do this without intending to, considering that there is no reason for a Neutral player to stop killing before having leveled up unless they already know the twist in advance, so Sans knows you’re just doing it to see what he’ll say. 4:10 The same applies to a LV 2 player, with Sans saying “who gets to lv2 on accident?” Killing any monster outside the Ruins will put you above LV 2, and within the Ruins, you will reach that level in at most five battles (and that only in the unlikely case that they are all Whimsuns) which is less than the number of encounters you’ll have just making it to Toriel’s house. The Exp. curve just in the Ruins means that you’d likely get just enough Exp. to reach LV 3 unless you deliberately stopped fighting while still in the Ruins, which no first-timer would ever do. It may not be strictly impossible to reach LV 2 and no higher by accident, but it’s so unlikely that there is no need to consider it. 4:38 Being at LV 3 gives the player the only judgment other than 0 EXP that isn’t a "You Suck" Speech in disguise. This is because someone playing the game blind will almost certainly be at this level when they reach Toriel and first start being shamed for killing monsters, so once they reload and find a way to spare Toriel, they will likely be a pacifist from then on, avoiding any unnecessary kills for the remainder of the game. Since the player still killed someone, Sans still doesn’t give them a good grade, but recognizes that they weren’t doing it on purpose and so can be forgiven. 4:58 Between LV 4 and 9, he says that the player deliberately killed at least some monsters, but admits that it may have been in self-defense, so he isn’t sure how to judge them. It’s actually somewhat hard to reach New Home with a LOVE of exactly 4, due to how much Exp. monsters in later areas give out, so the most likely way would be if a player level grinded in the Ruins and, not knowing about the Genocide Route, was horrified upon first seeing the “But nobody came” message and hearing the distorted music and resolved to spare everyone else (including Toriel, who dies in one hit if the conditions to begin the Genocide Route are met). As for LV 5 through 9, a player will be towards the higher end of that range if they just play through like a normal RPG and kill all their random encounters but don’t go out of their way to grind. Undyne alone will put them at LV 7 or 8, and since sparing her is something you would need a guide for help, and she is the first monster to actually try to kill the player, it could be considered self-defense. And of course, killing a random monster outside the Ruins (doing this in the CORE gives enough Exp. to go from LV 1 to 5) is only likely to happen if one is doing it on purpose, since one would have to know how to spare by then. 5:27 Between LV 10 and 14, Sans says that you’re failing and that you’ve probably already heard his judgment before and just want to hear them all, and at this point, he's right. Killing all the bosses won't give you enough Exp. to reach LV 10 on their own, and even the encounters in the Ruins and Snowdin are a drop in the bucket compared to how much Exp. is required to level up at this point, so you must have been killing most of the Random Encounters and even start to seek some out just to kill them. Though a player must have spared at least enough monsters to avoid fighting Undyne the Undying (and thus, Mettaton NEO), their excessively high body count means that they don't value other lives and only demonstrated restraint to avoid fighting the Genocide-only bosses. 6:47 Most players don't know this, but it is actually possible to reach LV 15 or higher on a Neutral Route. Doing so by aborting a Genocide Run in Hotland will still have you fight Mettaton NEO and set your LOVE to 19 regardless of kill count, but just killing 40 monsters in Hotland is enough to do it even if one was a pacifist up to this point. As such, since you were either trying to go for the Genocide Route and failed, or killed a bunch of people in Hotland for no real gain, Sans says you suck at even being evil, and are certainly a horrible person regardless. And of course, if you actually killed everybody, then Sans realizes that you cannot be reasoned with and must be stopped before you destroy everything, and since judging you would be pointless, decides to make you suffer. 7:04 and 8:02 Outside of the genocide route, Sans will always specifically mention it if Papyrus is dead, asking the player whether someone with a special power has the obligation to do the right thing and based on the answer, either asking why they killed his brother or calling them a dirty brother killer. Obviously, Sans is upset here because his brother is dead. But he has a point in specifically mentioning Papyrus. Papyrus is the only boss who, regardless of the player's actions, will always eventually spare them. For other bosses, the player might not know how to progress and will resort to attacking to end things. This can include Papyrus, but Papyrus is a unique boss in that he'll choose to end the fight quicker if attacked, thus being sparable before you're able to kill him. The player is essentially given three options: attack and be spared, show mercy and be spared, or lose to him and be given the option not to fight at all. Regardless of your own actions, you're given the option to end things nonviolently. Thus, by choosing not to, you've intentionally rejected the opportunity to do the right thing.
It's things like this that set a new standard for gaming everywhere, I think. Advanced programming that really calls into question the nature of gaming itself. Whether you are a good person or not, or what you become when you play a game. Even, perhaps, showing you a mirror for how you act in real life. Whether you dismiss people at first glance, or if you see everyone as caricatures, or if you truly see other people as no less or greater than you.
That “But you...” drop with the music coming in always gives me chills. It’s such a wonderful moment of the player realizing that it’s going to be okay
This is the speech he gives on the neutral part of the pacifist run, since you have to do a neutral and then go back to get a true pacifist. When you restart and go back and do the true pacifist end, he's not in the hall anymore because he's with all the other peoples, if I remember right. Is this what you mean? If so it's completely normal... I think.
I love the level-based ones because seeing them all like this makes you feeling like the player's slowly moving toward genocide, and it's quite interesting. Toby's brilliant, and thank you, creator, for making this!
I remember taking Toriel’s advice and just talking to all the monsters I met. It was a fun challenge trying to figure out what I needed to do to get past them. I even tried talking Asgore down before I was told there was literally no other way to get past him than fight
nobody gets on lv2 on accident. get outta here. lv3. 3 is an ok number. i'll give you a c+ Sans likes 3 more. A triangle has 3 sides You know what symbolizes a triangle? That's right. The Illuminati. Sans = illuminati confirm. or Sans might be GabeN in disguise and release HL3 for us.
Dat Weird 69er I never got that. Lv 3 is higher than 2 meaning you had to kill more people to get there. Sans is super pissed off at two but he let's you go at 3 without flipping a bone. Sans's Judgement doesn't make any 'Sans'
So I wanted to see if I killed everyone but Papyrus if he would say something different. Since he didn't I decided to kill no one but Papyrus and see what happens. It was then I realized I am a horrible person.
its not really important but there's also dialog if you talk to him at lvl 0. you obviously have to change the numbers in the files but it made me laugh when I was playing.

"Nah, I'm out of material." LMFAO!!! If you SERIOUSLY didn't get it... He speaks in the Comic Sans MS font. Some comics (like moi) run out of "material" at some point. His material is not only funny and childish, but also funny when it's nonexistent. Now go get a sense of humor.
ExplodingGames also (unless genocide) he knows nothing is permanent as you will just reset but genocide completely erases the timeline before Chara bring it back in exchange for your SOUL
“Then why’d you kill my brother” I’m watching this and it’s almost midnight. THAT sent freaking chills down my spine holy crap. Now I will get no sleep 🤨
He’s not strong, he’s just deceptive. He’s literally the weakest monster in the underground as well as being quite out of shape since he tires out and gives up. You can kill him in one hit and his basic attacks do the lowest damage. It’s just that he’s just so aware and bored of his surroundings that he decides to change the rules since it’s his battle such as dodging so the fight can last longer and a poison attack (Karmic Retribution/KR) so his attacks damage you faster, urging you to finish the fight even though it can go on forever.
7:49 Chills. Like multiple times over. Worse than "you're gonna have a bad time" or "should be burning in hell." I've NEVER had chills like that before.
One of the reasons why i love this game is because when you kill it makes you feel guilty which is very rare in games he knows what you've done and what you're probably going to do and I honestly think in my theory he has been fallowing the player since the start of the game like remember how you meet him? “I’m not gonna judge you, just because you’re a terrible person who belongs in hell-“
in his defense, you killed his brother
to be honest, we got off easy. we really broke him, but we didnt do enough damage to warrent him going all-out. considering while you go free, this sans has to go the rest of his life without his little brother. and others, if he wasn't the only casualty.
also consider: killing papyrus *overrides* whatever sans was going to say about your progress. so, in any timeline where sans dies, youll see this moment. *including a failed genocide run*
that's right. sans was so, so very close to getting up and stopping your near-genocide. but you failed at the last check the game has (mettaton) so he can only say what he said about you killing papyrus a million times before.
truely the worst timeline beyond a post-genocide timeline is the timeline where you murder almost everyone, but not enough to where sans can actually do anything. so theres this feeling that everyones going to die anyway, alone and in the dark.

@@moon4236 I don't know if it's exactly the same. Papyrus believes in this idea, whilst Sans questions whether it's true or not
@@juannaym8488 Yeah, what I meant by that is that I can't help but think that the reason sans even considers this idea in the first place is because it's papyrus mindset and that maybe sans deep down wants his brother to be right but sans himself is more cynical and so he can't.
Wha
Sans is so funny and so scary at the same time...
+Andrew Cunningham
if you fight him at level 1 he's pretty easy cause of invincibility frames
+Otter The Cat It's not nice to lie.

Patrick R well u can learn alot about him in genocide
Yeah, I had tears in my eyes when he told me that I did the right thing, no matter the situation was... It was not in vain, that was really inspiring.
9:48 really deep
Judgement Hall is one of my favorite moments too.
I personally like the neutral route better though, it just impacted me more.
Knowing a lot about the game before hand, I decided I ended up killing most of
the standard monsters, but spared all the bosses I could, except Toriel and Mettaton, because it
wasn't really very clear what I was supposed to do to spare them.
I never felt all that bad, after all, it was just self defense, it wasn't anyone really important, and
I did occasionally spare low level enemies if I knocked their health down a bit, plus it was my
first time through, so I needed the extra health.
But when sans told me to think about what I'd done... it hit me hard.
'I shouldn't have done that, it was wrong' I thought.
It hit me surprisingly hard.
Sure, in the pacifist route, he says all kinds of nice stuff about you, you did good
and all, but the feeling that you could've done better, and honestly really wanted too,
that really stuck with me, more than the feeling of a pacifist or genocide run.
In a genocide run, I felt terrible, sure, but I was deliberately being evil, I was almost role playing,
putting up a front, distancing myself you could say, and in the pacifist, I was a goody goody two shoes,
which is great and all, but it's easy to be 'perfect' in a video game, much harder in real life, and thus less
realistic in a sense. Not saying I don't love the pacifist ending, I do, but I feel like
sans judging me in my first run really hit me more.
(it was also my first time, so I'm SUUUURRREEE that had NOTHING to do with it XD!)
@@juandavila8487 Yeah, or just watch a video like a coward so you don't have to kill everyone and feel super
depressed the next day when you realize what you just did.

It wouldn't be nice of us to leaf him sans a brother!
Sans can be the most serious character in the game, and then he ends up saying stuff like "Stupid doodoo butt"
He clearly is serious when he needs to be serious, but otherwise he's just that one pun guy we'll always remember.
Dark times. XD
I was like fucking depressed or some shit. XD

Lil Phoenix flowey CAN’T be scared of him. No soul, remember???
I just kept running away. Apparently I was supposed to have a smile. I was just annoyed by them. XD

After giving you one of his codewords, Sans ends with the phrase, "See you later." But it's time travel, and you presumably get better, and therefore faster, at the game. Wouldn't he therefore be more correct if he said, "See you earlier?"
It's later from your point of view.

Good thing papyrus is there to set a good example!
This game is five years old and Sans saying “then why’d you kill my brother” still sends chills down my spine, it’s so unsettling.
Oh man 8 years old now
I saw this comment from TV Tropes that summarises why Sans gives each grade for you.

This is the speech he gives on the neutral part of the pacifist run, since you have to do a neutral and then go back to get a true pacifist. but as a boss hes pretty damm strong
