Undertale - List of "fun" and "Fun" Events

- Upon start-up of a new file of Undertale, or upon doing a Reset or True Reset, the "fun" value in your Undertale save folder will be a random number from 1-100. This is your natural "fun" value. Certain values will trigger unique "fun" events, such as the occurrence of a unique phone call, the appearance of a unique NPC, or a unique room change.

Here's a couple of corrections I used to have on the video in the form of annotations before RUclips removed annotations:
- Sound Test Room can only show up after defeating Papyrus.
- You don't need to complete a neutral playthrough for Goner Kid to show up, the update that allowed capital "Fun" values to occur also removed that restriction. - Игры

In most playthroughs of the game, he isn't even there.

my headcanon is that toby purposely created gaster to add a false sense of mystery and horror, to cause the fandom to start stirring and speculating, as a direct response to the fnaf fandom, only for it to turn out gaster was just some grossly incompetent scientist who fell in the void and now offers eggs to travellers across space and time during trying times.

something about clam girl i haven’t seen many people mention:
in the nintendo switch version of the game, she has extra dialogue in the pacifist epilogue, saying that the time when you’ll meet her neighbor’s daughter suzy “…is fast approaching.” after this she proceeds to turn into a grayscale version of herself and blips off with the same sound the gaster followers do.
for context, the switch version of undertale was released roughly a month before deltarune chapter 1; i’d say this was very, very likely a teaser for it.
Seems like it. The dialog about you likely being in the underground because of her might mean something for deltarune's story
@@ashtar3876 She probably means you came back to Undertale before playing Deltarune
oh my goodness i didn't know that
Toby confirmed everything that is from deltarune did not exist in undertale so i do not think this is true
@@imaadi6282 I thought it was only confirmed the dark worlds don't exist in undertale so that just means ralsei, lancer, etc don't exist but the lightners like kris and susie do
“It’s a poorly drawn picture of three smiling picture. Written on it… don’t forget.”
This is only achievable after learning about Clam Girl’s neighbor, “Suzy”.
In Deltarune Chapter 1, your party consists of three primary characters: Kris, Susie, and Ralsei.
The end credits of chapter one plays a song sung by Laura Shigihara, titled “Don’t Forget”.
Deltarune was an idea conceived of by Toby Fox years before Undertale’s release, so it’s possible that this was a hint for what would be coming in the future.
Also, Clam Girl is also a Gaster follower, also known as a goner. At the beginning of Deltarune, Gaster makes the player create a “Goner”, before discarding them and starting the game.
Bro. It makes way too much sense
There's a further connection to Suzy and Suzie in the Undertale Switch release. In it, the pacifist dialogue with Clam Girl mentions that, quote, "The time you'll meet her is fast approaching" with her turning into a Goner as she says it. This was specifically changed in the Switch version, which came out a few months before Deltarune if I remember right, so it was almost certainly planned.

Call me crazy but I’m starting to genuinely believe that the reason that gaster wasn’t in the main plot of Undertale and only exists in Easter eggs is because he’s actually super relevant to deltarune. What if there’s a reason why both he along with the other reference to deltarune, like “Suzy”, can only really be found in fun value encounters? Toby already had a start on the story of deltarune while making Undertale, so I think it could make sense he hid Easter eggs in because of that. My long-shot predication is that there’s gonna be some plot twist in deltarune that makes all those encounters make sense.

In that Clamgirl one, I knew that Toby had planned Deltarune years before Undertale even came out, none of us realized it then, but now “Don’t Forget” carries a much deeper meaning

something about "meat factory" just being those low notes is incredibly unnerving
Two words that also don't sit right together.. 😧
I'm thinking it represents Gaster's story. Normal life, machinery and invention, disaster and sudden panic, and his current state. Hence why you're able to scroll through the songs in both directions upon listening to Gaster's theme. He can move through it all now, whereas before it was just an innevitable tragic series of events.
The name "meat factory" is also pretty horrifying if you think about it
I think Goner kid is from a reality where he died by falling from the bridge. In pacifist, if you don't save the kid, he says stuff like "I was almsot a GONER". And I think that the umbrella thing it's to say to us the player that he is the same kid to which we share the umbrella, and not just a similar kid.
Now if this other reality is connected to Gaster I dunno, but it seems that Goner kid knows about his sad tale or just the fact of not existing in this reality
Actually this is pretty interesting to read and I think you are on to something
@@petermultiverse2867 What I think it's interesting it's that this video has 13.928 comments and people still read them :)
Haha yeah!
@@petermultiverse2867 Anyway, the umbrella might actually have the opposite meaning: this kid does not recognize the umbrella, and that's why he says "what?" and then the following sentences only mean "at least it's not raining"
They might be different characters also because Goner kid has different head scales and he seems to have an electric plug behind his head instead.
First obvious thing that comes to mind is The Matrix, so maybe it means that Undertale is a different layer of reality simulated? We are thinking different realities but maybe they are... overlapping realities? Like a simulation in a simulation, and those grey people come from higher layers, the simulation is "Gaster creation" and "he got shattered in his creation".
There is an implication in a twitter post by Toby fox (look for toby fox broken machine on google) of "some people not having a good outcome unless the machine is repaired, which cannot be repaired". So maybe they are in a layer of simulation UNDER them, stuck, until the machine can be repaired, but nobody can.
I agree with this but I thought the umbrella was representing what he said. As it isnt raining the umbrella was useless, the world functioning perfectly without it.

The flower person in waterfall speaking of Suzy + the letter with 3 people and “don’t forget” is basically a free pass to Deltarunes secrets if we can figure it all out and combine Gaster with it. Perhaps the future chapters will give us context.
PLUS, theres that bit with Alphys where mettaton is teasing her about someone liking her (i think its if you choose you as an option) and she says "ive done research on this! I feel like Clam Girl was a hint about Deltarune.

About "Suzy"?
In the switch version, in the pacifist epilogue, she'll say 'The day when you'll meet her...", turn into a gaster follower (greyscale with an eyeball in place of her head) "...is fast approaching." Then she disappears.
The switch version came out September 15, 2018, and Deltarune came out a month and half later, on Halloween 2018.
Toby Fox has also said that he actually came up with Deltarune BEFORE Undertale was finished, so even in the original version, it's likely a reference to Deltarune. (Thought Toby may have changed the spelling of Susie's name)
what is so interesting is the fact that the dialogue in sans's back room will change
i think this is slight proof that the strange monsters on those photos are delta rune characters
maybe we will see more of sans in chapter two??
"In life's grand scheme, she (someone named "Suzy") might be why you came here in the first place".
In Deltarune, Undertale's "younger sibling", a girl named "Susie" is the main reason why we ended up in a fantasy world full of monsters that are trying to kill us but that we can also befriend.
Toby, you annoying dawg, you're freaking killing me!
Clamgirl is honestly such a cute and wholesome character, I wish she was always there! It's weird to say this but that character's words actually helped me a bit in my life

That's true.
7:12 paired with the music is so haunting. “Please forget about me.” “Please don’t think about this anymore.”
Btw, so from what I gather, gaster fell into the core and somehow was scattered across time and space. And, this might be unrelated, some experiment went wrong. While usually people imply it was him falling into the core, it doesn't mean that's what it was. So my theory is, gaster fucked up some sort of experiment that fucked up the time space continuum, hence why we can save load and reset. They then fell into the core, and due to the failure of their experiment, whatever it was, they were scattered across all time and space. We know he exists in deltarune as well, because of the naming process. And most people believe he was the one who had you create a vessel only for it to be discarded, as well as the one behind the tree. The vessel might still be used, just not by you. So, the question is, will the pieces of gaster scattered across all of reality be gathered once again? And if so, what then?
The channel game theory had a nice... Theory.
Actually the reason why we can reset is because of our determination after the events of asreil and charas death asreil became flowey and got a little bit of determination so he killed and killed every monster timeless times
@@Datoneguy_9343 Asriel is the player before us. We can reset, because the timeline is messed up, and we have dt. The one most likely who messed it up would be gaster.
@@Chara_the_god asreil is a monster…. Not a player / human only Asriel in Flowey can reset
@@Datoneguy_9343 monsters are capable of being players, not just humans. Before the events of the game, flowey was the player. This fact will never change.

Every single Deltarune reference:
- Clam Girl mentions a girl named Suzy, pretty obvious reference to Susie
- After interacting with Clam Girl, you find a note in Sans' lab with a drawing of three characters (most likely Kris, Susie and Ralsei), and the words don't forget, referencing the game's ending theme
- Gaster's Theme is named mus_him in the game files. The track which plays during the vessel creation sequence is named ANOTHER HIM
- The person who called the wrong number attempted to call someone who's name seems to start with G, and considering the implications of the Fun values, it's obvious they were trying to call Gaster. This might reference Spamton's backstory
- While two other Gaster followers resemble monsters you can encounter in Undertale, the third one's regular variant can be met in Deltarune, and in the library of all places
- Entry 17 references a growing darkness, it might be possible it's describing Gaster discovering dark fountains
I think it's safe to assume these were supposed to foreshadow Deltarune
for the wrong number one, I'm pretty sure in the japanese version, there character is pronounced "ga". the first person that comes to mind with their name starting with ga is gaster, so you might be correct it was gaster.
@@spamtonthingit’s basically comfirmed who else name starts with ga and is related to fun value and it’s definitely not the goners
if we talk about every single even without fun values, then we can talk about shop guy (i forgot his name)
he talks us about the delta rune and the angel
i think it’s not foreshadowing, but rather building upon the mysteries of the previous game
5:10 I met Clam Girl on my first pacifist playthrough and didn't even realize she was rare. Lol. On my second playthrough, she was gone
The sound test thing, especially Gaster's theme, made me shiver. Holy crap.
Its fascinating how easy it is to make disturbing music.
indeed.
"My neighbors daughter is about your age. Her name is Suzy."
Susie???
In the switch version of the game, when you talk to clam girl during the true pacifist epilogue, instead of her normal lines, she says “So you never met my neighbor’s daughter, do not despair, because the time you will meet her” *she then turns into a gaster follower version of herself “is fast approaching” *then she disappears. The switch version was released shortly before deltarune and that line change caused a lot of theories and hype for another undertale game. I’m convinced that it was what she was referencing and Suzy and Susie are the same person, or at least alternate universe versions of each other.
@@caltheuntitled8021 that and that poorly drawn photo of 3 people + ‘don’t forget’ is an obvious reference to Deltarune. Especially considering it only appears if you talk to clam-girl.
Since making that reply, I have found out that the switch specific dialogue with clam girl only happens when the fun value is exactly 81. She will still give her normal dialogue when the fun value is 80 or 82-89.

photon is a light particle
and in entry seventeen when it says photon readings negative
it means there are no photons nearby
the person writing in the entry is in a void
well obviously because everyone says gaster is in the void
If there was no light it would just say photon readings 0, but it says photon readings negative. This could mean that the person is in a place that is full of something like "anti-light", so yeah, void. Also, "dark, darker, yet darker", if there's no light in there it can't get any darker because it doesn't make sense. And in the real world there's no light and dark, there's only light and no light. Kinda like with temperature, there's actually no warm and cold, just warm and less warm. Or no warm.

Fun fact (no pun intended.): if you play on Nintendo switch, and you are on the true pacifist route epilogue, Clam Girl will say “So you never met my neighbor’s daughter. Do not fear! As the time you will meet her…” Clam Girl then becomes a goner npc, and becomes grayscale (of course, it’s a goner) she then finishes the sentence with “is fast approaching.” She then disappears with the same sound effect as the 2nd gaster follower and Gaster himself. This outcome only appears if you play on the Nintendo switch edition, you are on the true pacifist route epilogue, AND you have a fun value of EXACTLY 81.
omg i would love to see it! did someone make a video about this?
@@Mark-xy9ol yes, they did.
5:46
This one piece of dialogue changes if you are playing this game on the switch and the fun value is 81.
After Clam Girl says don’t despair, instead of saying there are infinite opportunities to meet Suzy (Who is actually Susie in Deltarune), she instead say “The time you will get to meet her…
…Is fast approaching.”
When she says this, Her sprite changes to a greyscale version with her face instead being an eye, revealing herself to be a goner. The music will stop and after ending the dialogue, she disappears with the sound bit that is heard when Gaster and his Followers disappear.
I didn't know that. must be interesting for the future chapters of deltarune (Undertale but the letters are scrambled)
@@RushedDaysThe Switch version of Undertale released right before Deltarune did, so this new Clamgirl dialogue was a hint to that connected with a previously existing Deltarune teaser.
