I wasn't too interested in MTV when it first aired on television, but boredom and a rainy Saturday found me watching. I saw Martha Quinn and immediately wanted to see more of her quirkiness. My wife, on the other hand wasn't too thrilled with me watching a music video channel so it became a covert operation! Martha Quinn and my wife could be sisters, as they both look so similar. That was 40 years ago, so take that into perspective. Those days will be forever missed.
I like that Martha Quinn didn't just go along with having a bouncy, little, yes-nodding interview and disputed several things. Hence, Joan Lunden was told to go to commercial, just like she was told to bring up irrelevant aspects.
Unplugged was awesome especially in the early 90s when we needed a change from all the big hair electric bands. However yo MTV raps was stupid. They should have given those guys their own channel. And yes using videos have been on television in Europe and especially in England for years that's why most of the videos that first came out on MTV were British videos.

I used to wake up to Paula Abdul's album because it would put me in a better mood when I was in the Army.
Martha was great she always reminds me of my cousin looks-wise and mannerism wise. She does have a great voice for radio too.

Micheal Jackson threatened a Lawsuit if MTV didn't play his trash . He single handedly ruined MTV .
BS..MTV killed themselves by turning away from strictly music..Had they stuck with just videos, they'd still be around and popular!!
