Thank you so much for the tutorial!! I’ve made a few of these now and wrote down the pattern for my own reference, so I figured I would share it here!
    Chunky bucket hat pattern
    - slip knot
    - Chain 4
    - Insert hook into 1st chain and pull a loop through to make the chain into a ring (NOTE: you can also do a magic ring here - I find that easier!)
    - Row 1: chain 2, 9 half double crochet into center of ring (10 total including chain)
    - Pull tail to close ring
    - Pull up a loop through the chain
    - Row 2: chain 2, half double crochet (HDC) into preceding chain, increase with 2 HDC into each stitch (20 total), skip chain and pull a loop through the first V to close the gap
    - Row 3: chain 2, HDC into first stitch, then 1 single HDC, 1 increase for remainder of row (30 total), close gap
    - Row 4: chain 2, increase every 5 (4 single, 1 increase), close gap
    - Row 5-8: chain 2, single HDC around, repeat trick to close gap at the end of each row
    - Row 9: chain 2, HDC into front loop of first stitch, then 1 single, 1 increase around, do trick to close gap at the end
    - Row 10: chain 2, HDC into first stitch, then 5 single, 1 increase around, close gap
    - Finishing: chain 1 and mark the stitch, slip stitch around, final slip stitch into first stitch of row, weave in ends

Leaving this comment in case anyone had the same issues I did!
My crown section (first three rows) was only 11cm (4.25”) wide. Amazingly, the lovely content creator listed measurements of every section (TYSM!!!) and so with many trials and error I found the best course of action. Essentially I added a row between row 3 & 4. This new row consists of the exact same start as every other row counting the chain 2 and first hdc as an increase, then hdc 3 in a row, then another increase, then hdc 3 in a row and so on. I then continued the hat as instructed but alas I ran into a similar issue with the sides.
My sides measured 7.5 cm or 3 inches. So to get to the listed measurement I just added two extra rows of hdc in every stitch like the rows before it. And of course I had an issue with the brim as well.
I tried creating the brim as the video showed, but because I had added an extra row in the crown I had a lot of extra stitches so my brim came out wavy, which was very cute but I wanted a brim that was straight. So I created the first row of the brim just as instructed but instead of increasing I just put one hdc in each stitch. I did this for a total of 3 rows, then for the fourth row I worked in single crochets increasing every other 5 stitches (5sc, increase, etc.) I did the very last row as instructed and my hat turned out perfectly! Thank you to the OP for the wonderful tutorial! 💛

Great pattern! Easy to follow and while I redid the pattern a couple of times for a proper size adjustment and the rows appear a tad smaller (using the same hook btw, 10mm) it still resembles a bucket hat! I’m excited for the end results!
