I made this with what I had on hand (some minor substitutions like peas instead of spinach). Family approved and loved the depth of flavors! Always love your recipes!

4th time making this tonight, one of my favs! So quick, so easy and so flavorful. I use mild Italian sausage - already seasoned so skip all the beginning steps, follow directions till the end. The other times I made it, it froze very well - even the pasta! Like freezing anything, has to be 100% cooled down to avoid condensation and then you don't get freezer burn. This time I added a little more cream and pasta water, scooped some out during the simmering and poured over my freezer portions. Haven't had them yet, but I don't see how this could hurt. Great recipe! Thank you for sharing

Awesome recipe, Kaleb! I think it would work to add chicken tenders at the time you add sausage, too. Love the lesson on pasta water, too. It also makes the recipe lighter as I'd probably just add another pint of heavy cream but this works beautifully. Thanks so much!!

That looks amazing. Are there any issues reheating it since there is heavy cream? Just add a touch more cream or water when you reheat? I can’t wait to make this and adjust the recipe to one. It will still be more then enough for me!
I would add nore cream and maybe butter to reheat.

Does this freeze well? Glass containers to freeze leftovers have helped me stop wasting food & cut back on eating out...I hate eating thr dame leftovers fir a week, but I love pulling them out in 2 weeks or a month from the freezer!
I like to make my own sausage too
you basically made sausage gravy italian version ...could put that same dish with bisquits and an egg. I like peas or asparagus with onion pork gravy

I would not use oregano especially not dry oregano which is for me strickly for pizza not pasta
Basil, parsley even thyme, i like for white sauce or nutmeg...but never oregano
Fennel is absolute must though for sausage

Pork is amazing! I am sure you can substitute with a chicken sausage or even replace the pork sausage with another vegetable 🥦 to make it a plant based meal. Lots of options or substitutes for a pork sausage..
