Really neat video; never thought about using closeup filters; planning to explore flowers and food pics now! Thank you for the inspiration! Best, Chats
Thank you for your video. I didn't know that such magnifying filters existed. Is there also a between-camera-and-lens adaptor that will allow you to shoot "close-up" with your Noctilux lenses? I haven't seen any RUclips videos regarding such an adaptor.
It sounds like you are referring to an extension tube? It's really a matter of personal preference to be honest. Also extension tubes might cost more than the filters. Do some research and see what you prefer!
Thank you for posting! I too LOVE my Nocti - I only have the Nocti with my m9 . . . I have never considered using those filters - thank you so much for the suggestion!
It’s quite fun and gives you more options with your Nocti 😄 some people might suggest micro adaptor or extension tubes... I chose to go with the filters because they cost way less and provide more options 😊 have fun!
Wow, today I was trying to figure out how to decrease the minimum focusing distance with my recently purchased 50 Noctilux. I even tried my Leica Macro adapter. This resulted in the a a lot of distance 1 meter to about half a foot (guess). I simply want to shot my Noctilux when I am at ranges just closer than 1 meter. I am going to order the filters this evening. Thanks.
Very nice. I have the Nocti 1.2 on order and wanted to be able to take some macro style portraits. Ididn’t even know that macro filters existed until I saw this. Thanks!
Hahaha most people don't consider closeup filters due to image distortion etc. But with the noctilux being such a unique character lens, a bit more bokeh/blurriness is actually ok in my opinion. Have fun with your new nocti!
Very impressed. Thank you for presenting the macro info and the beautiful close up portrait shots. You mentioned the Leica app, which I assume is the Leica Foto app. What do you exactly do with the app for, say, your close up portraits shown at the end of the video. Thank you again.
Thank you for watching! The Leica Fotos app is helpful for self-portraits as it allows me to trigger the camera remotely. I can also frame my shot by looking at the live view on my phone via the app. After the images are taken, I can also download some smaller jpgs to my phone to share quickly on social media!
Definitely worth exploring! Also won't break the bank. Each filter is around $20 ~ $30 only and you can own the set of 4 for less than $150. Happy shooting! 😄
Hello thank you for such a great video. What are the filters called? Exactly? I would like to purchase some. What should I search for on Google? Thanks
Have you tried using extension tubes? Don't think it affects the optical quality of your Nocti as it doesn't introduce any additional glass into equation
Haha... I've not tried the extension tube on the noctilux yet... it's just the thought of spending $700 more on the noctilux encouraged me to look elsewhere. You can buy the entire set of 4 filters for less than $150 😉
When the lens is wide open, I find it hard to nail my focus, especially on portraits. Can some one share some dos and don’ts please. Leica m10R+ Noctilux 50 1.2.
If you are having a hard time focusing using the rangefinder, perhaps try using the LCD with focus peaking turned on, or use an EVF. I personally don’t use EVFs but I’ve heard good things about them.
um... you could do that but that wouldn't look the same. The Noctilux lens creates a bit of vignette especially at wide open. When you crop, the positioning of the vignette could look off.
For even closer, macro, there’s the Leica M Macro adapter that works quite well. It provides better quality than something in front of the lens.
Thanks! I’ll definitely look into that. A few people have suggested it as well 😊

Thank you for watching! The closeup filters allow us to use our Noctis in different ways. Happy shooting! 😄
Very helpful video. I love the results you got using the filters.

That +4 is breathtaking!
Thank you! Just so fun to try something different 😊

Awesome! I’m glad that this video was helpful to you. The filters are not expensive also so you can easily pick up all of them to try. Have fun! 😊

The portraits are very very nice. There's a separate image reflected in the models' pupils too. Master and pupil ...
Hahaha thank you! It's just fun! A different way of seeing through the nocti 😍

Funny how one of the best video about close up filter is one using the noctilux
I’ll take that as a compliment. Thanks! 😊
@@NoctiGirl believe me, it is
Thank you for the encouragement 😊
Cool!
Thank you! 😊
Since the Noctilux has a 60mm thread can you tell me which B&W filter I need to buy? I’m new to this, just bought the 50mm 0.95 three days ago.

Do you know if a sepia filter exists for the Noctilux 50mm 0.95?
To be honest, I'm not sure, but I wouldn't waste money on investing in a sepia filter. You'd be better off doing that in post production.
Do they make extension tubes for the Leica M?
Yes they do! I believe it's around $750 vs. less than $150 for the set of 4 filters 😉
Thats insane, I didnt realize you could buy these filters for the noctilux, and get that kind of iq, amazing!
super fun and easy! Not crazy expensive too 😄

I need my 50 .95 back from Germany 😣😣😣
Just 9 more months to go! 😝
But what if the camera had a high megapixel sensor, then you could crop and make the subject appear larger…..
