@OilersSnapshots dude even my 89yo grandma was like, will you come over and teach me the hockey rules? I was like yes of course grandma lmaoooo so wholesome ♥️
I took my whole family to this game. My 13 year old daughter is ABSOLUTELY HOOKED. More "thank you's" and hugs than i think i've ever gotten from her. Absolutely incredible new asset to have in our state.
as a calgarian flames fan who moved to utah, its been real exciting. tons of hockey fans here, tons of people who wanna learn the sport and get into it. its really cool to witness.
I was at the game. I used to work at Delta Center, and experienced many highs and lows with the Utah Jazz. I can think of very few times I have heard that building go as crazy as it did after the Utah goals and Spicy Tuna’s fight. There were several people around me experiencing hockey for the first time. Not just in person, but period. I think they are hooked.
Im just glad Newer Fans are finally getting to see Hockey in Utah. A New Market comes with New Fans. Anything that helps grow the Sport of Hockey i’m happy with. It’s gotta be super exciting to be living in or the surrounding area of Salt Lake City Utah.
BC boy here. I lived just outside of SLC (west valley city, the armpit of Utah) back in 2004 to very early 2007. What shocked me when I would play drop in hockey was how many girls played. And they were AWESOME! They made most of the guys look silly with their skills. Occasionally I would go see the Utah Grizzles play in West Valley City and the hockey was really good. Utah loves hockey and because they are encouraged to breed like rabbits, there are tons of kids that will be asking their parents to take them to NHL games. It should work out well there.
As a yote fan I’m excited for the boys. I’m thinking they’ll make the playoffs as the last wild card spot or miss it by a point. I think they will be a fun team to watch all season long
I have nothing but respect for Utah as a Leafs fan, I hope they do well this year because Arizona just wasn't working out. It seems the new arena and new city is sparking something in them. I also could see a rivalry forming between it and Vegas, my second team
Im a Red Wing fan and will always be one. I live in Salt Lake City for 13 years. I hope Utah the best. See you on October 5 at the Maverick center and March 24th.
I got tickets for when Utah comes to Ottawa.. hoping to see Sokolov on the roster.. loved his personality, sad that he could never take that step to really compete for a roster spot in Ottawa
It was a fun treat to host the Utah HC vs St Louis Blues in Des Moines. They put on a great show. Seemed very appreciative of the fans that came to support as they put on a for fun shootout after the game.
I think Utah not only makes the playoffs but takes at least one series. They were a good team in AZ. Take away that terrible losing streak and that team is in the conversation at the end of the season. Put them in a market where they have a home ice advantage? That will be very powerful for them. Utah is going to be a tough team.
Going to see the Avs play Utah in October and it’ll be my first NHL game as a fan of the away team. Bet Delta center is gonna be filled with Avs fans the same way mullet arena always was. Gonna be electric
My cousin is a Suns fan who lives in Utah and she goes to Jazz games often, and she is always impressed by the incredible atmosphere. She told me that when she’s there cheering for Phoenix that it’s honestly a little intimidating
The fact that the Coyotes were in contention for the playoffs last year at a few points during the season I could definitely see Utah HC getting atleast a Wild Card spot as the mental issues for the team of the whole "where are we playing and are we being moved" are done. Utah has a solid group of players and they IMO could easily finish 4th in the division.
This is such a better situation than Arizona. I’ve been saying for years that SLC should get a hockey team. Every time I go snowboarding at Snowbird, about 45 minutes from SLC, the mountain is full of hockey jerseys. You go anywhere in Colorado, Oregon, or California the mountain is full of football jerseys with a few hockey jerseys mixed in. Utah is going to be hockey crazy.
God i love your videos. Mostly becuase you don't waste my time. 3-4 minutes is such a good length for hockey content like this. Also you have a great voice! Really great narration
They look good early but I like Keller and Cooley may be like that Kraken run 1st year! And who does'nt like spicy tuna when they dropped the gloves in AZ and last night was good vibe in an actual arena.
As a Utahan my whole life I chose the Dallas stars as the team to root for when I was 11 in 1999-2000. They made the cup that year so they left a mark. 25 years later I'm perplexed. I can't just drop the stars but I'm a Utah boy. Guess I'll have to root for two teams. And they are in the same division 😂 this is gonna be weird
Utah Uhaul on the move this year. Got me a couple pro fanatics jerseys but guess what team was missing from pre order list... c'mon nhl i need that Utah jersey
I’m a Kings fan and I’m excited for Utah Yeti Hockey!!! However, I am not a fan of the Kings Chevy logo wish it was retired and they just used the Crown
Im in europé.. here it takes a centurie for a club to build, make money, get a fan base.. our leagues in sport are clubs built from workers, iron workers, ship builders, masons.. u name it.. clubs represent your life your work your morals and stands in everyday questions. I don’t know if it’s good or bad, just different! Support IFK Goteborg!!
O'Brien is Deryk Engelland 2.0 basically. nice that the fans of this new franchise will gravitate to him as a boisterous, likeable presence as with Engo. but if the team improves, his career best 14 pts will likely not be seen again as ice time rightly will go to more impactful players.
Remember: Utah is considered an expansion franchise, so all former records and stats do not carry over. Whoever the captain is going to be IS the first captain in franchise history. The Arizona Coyotes franchise still technically exists and is currently considered ‘inactive’
I'm going to say that the first franchise goal being an own goal is what they deserve for choosing sky blue as their team color. (I have a decades-long only semi-rational distaste for that color on sports jerseys due to numerous rivalries of "my teams" across multiple sports). Anyway, hope the fan base enjoys the team and supports them well.
I would love for American teams to spend their first few years with a name like this and allowing it to establish its own identity. Its how thr classic 16 MLB teams got their names
Happy for the people in Utah having a new NHL team, we’re waiting here in Seattle to have an NBA one. It would of been nice if they kept the Coyotes name instead of the boring Utah Hockey Club name tho.
TheChronicFiend I know that Yotes fans have been warning us that he sucks at both fighting and hockey, but imo a culture hero like him is EXACTLY what this team and fanbase needs right now in their new home.
How much of a gut punch would it be to Yotes fans if Utah wins the cup in their first season after relocating from Arizona? Quebec fans can probably tell you all about that
As far as the name goes I think Venom is the best suited, there are at least 6 species of rattlesnakes in Utah. Of the 20 original potential names there are 6 Finalists in the team name contest and "Utah Hockey Club" made the list. How? Were the other 14 names THAT bad? I would have gone with "Utah Battalion", it's got a history in the founding of Salt Lake City and settlement of the State. Mormons agreed to sign up for the US military during the Mexican-American War (1846-1848) in exchange for right to settle in Utah and found a Mormon city as the base for their church. Their regiment was called The Mormon Battalion. The government saw it as an opportunity to segregate the Mormons who were being persecuted in places like Michigan and Ohio, which was fine with the Mormons who wanted a more religious tribal society like the Amish anyway, who are probably jealous they didn't get their own State of the Union.
My son lives in Phoenix. So as someone who had a side interest in the Coyotes I have mixed feelings. I really want to see thix group of guys do well. But this just sucks for their Phoenix fans, and yes there were more than you think.
@@claytonwyatt9780 Yes, he has actually. Just because you don't like him doesn't change that. As for you calling it "sad" that he's my favorite player, do yourself a favor and go look in the mirror.
They should be called the... hear me out now... Utah Hockey Pucks or just Utah Pucks Peter Puck as mascot No Pucks given Go Puck Yourself Go Pucks Go 🤣 Also Pucks V Ducks would be cool lol
UTAH Hockey Club is a very very, very uninspired team name. It cannot get more blend then that. I'm still shocked at how it does not fit the league at all with names like "Penguins" or "Stars"... Can't get over it lol.
I live an hour from slc. To say the locals are stoked would be an understatement
That’s awesome. Love seeing passion from fans in a new market
I live 15 min from downtown. Everyone I know is super excited.
@OilersSnapshots dude even my 89yo grandma was like, will you come over and teach me the hockey rules? I was like yes of course grandma lmaoooo so wholesome ♥️
@@vomitingwithungodlyaccurac3218 That's incredible man. Utah's going to be a fun young team to watch.
i work at the delta center selling the merch and man it was PACKED and it was only the first preseason game.... october 8th is gonna be fun
I took my whole family to this game. My 13 year old daughter is ABSOLUTELY HOOKED. More "thank you's" and hugs than i think i've ever gotten from her. Absolutely incredible new asset to have in our state.
Warm Welcome to the NHL Fandom, then!
Habs fan here :D

There were some pretty low numbers at one point for the jazz... nhl coming to Utah changes the entire scene, ill never forget energysports areana 😢
im impressed. 6 goals in your first game is terrific.
I see what you did there

Most importantly, new owner. That’s a huge part of what had been holding them back previously
The own goal was great, "Ya can take the Hockey club out of Arizona, but you can't take the Arizona out of the Hockey Club."
Im a Red Wing fan and will always be one. I live in Salt Lake City for 13 years. I hope Utah the best. See you on October 5 at the Maverick center and March 24th.
Same here and Im a stars fan! We even got season tickets. Cant wait to see them play here!
Yotes were my dark horse last year. They give my team fits when they play. Looking forward to seeing an Utah v Colorado rivalry grow.
It doesn’t matter how well they do, it’s fun to have them in the league
I got tickets for when Utah comes to Ottawa.. hoping to see Sokolov on the roster.. loved his personality, sad that he could never take that step to really compete for a roster spot in Ottawa
Great for the city. Great for the fans. Great for Utah. Great for hockey.
I really just can't see their sweaters without thinking of Winnipegs
Yeah, they're like a cross between the Jets and the Rangers.
They going to playoffs for sure. Utah location giving these players a huge jolt this season
It was a fun treat to host the Utah HC vs St Louis Blues in Des Moines. They put on a great show. Seemed very appreciative of the fans that came to support as they put on a for fun shootout after the game.
Did they play Slipknot at all?
Super happy they had the game on local TV
So happy to have an NHL team 30 minutes from home
It was nice to see them play well fought entertaining game and awesome that was fan support right out of the gate.
Those colors in the uniform underrated
SEATTLE GOT COMPETITION FOR THAT NEW FRANCHISE DARLING SPOT

UHC 5-2 win in their inaugural season game!

Utah got such a good deal getting the entire Arizona cast. Arizona was a stiff team last year, gonna be even stiffer this year in Utah.
Holy. I remember Louie Erickson's 1st goal in Vancouver... an own goal. It cursed him. Hoping Utah doesn't suffer from it!
They look good early but I like Keller and Cooley may be like that Kraken run 1st year! And who does'nt like spicy tuna when they dropped the gloves in AZ and last night was good vibe in an actual arena.
It's not an expansion team...it's just a relocated coyotes team. Nothing like the kraken situation
I hope a playoff appearance
Can’t wait to get into hockey

All in favour??
I like the Utah Uteruses!
LET'S GO HOCKEY CLUB! 👏 👏 👏👏👏
I was at this game, the place was absolutely buzzing
I wish utah stuck with the coyotes color scheme but it seems they wanted colors that would work for a mammoth/blizzard/ yeti team name.
They're trying to go matchy-matchy with the Utah Jazz NBA team (same owners)
I think that was spicy touny
Kind of fitting the Jets 1.0 have Jets 2.0 esque colours lol

The league did them so dirty in AZ.

Utah will be fighting for 2nd to last place with the Ducks or Sharks this year.

woo, go hockey club! lmao
Relax...that was a pre season game against the Kings.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the Calgary Wranglers have cooked 2 NHL teams so far this pre-season, including Mcdavo' and Draisaitl.
Jackson George Clark Susan Smith Melissa
Welcome to the NHL, Utah???
We do realize this isn't an expansion team, right???? 😂 ..... or are you talking about the people who reside in Utah???
Now they just need to stop sending teams to die in Arizona/Phoenix.
