Doc you're a gentlemen and a scholar! I use the 360 mounts on my Sportster's highway bar. I need it further away as I am 6ft. I just got mini floorboard pegs from a company called ETI, that are nice and wide. Even before that, I could set my feet across the main and highway pegs, for sort of a midway rest haha. The more you can reposition the better I've found! Thanks for the info!

i have the mustache bars... they are great to have... they do not look so big and large bent pipes sticking out like giant doors and safe to split lanes in calif with. and when my bike fell over it saves everything from breaking off and it really is a good slender look...

Thanks Doc. I am actually in the market for highway pegs but can never decide which ones to buy. Might just go with the old school style.

I use the pegs designed for the lowers and have them on my engine guard of my Dyna. They come back far enough where I can rest my toes on the highway pegs and my heel on the further forward pegs or my whole foot on the highway peg.

I know some folks love those things. In 54 years of riding I've just never used them, I've always thought your feet need to be on the controls. I have however in my many years as a dealer, slammed my shin bone into several walking through the service department!!! Ha ha.

Hey Mr. Doc! First off, love the videos, very very educational! I also have a question... I have a 2018 Road Glide Ultra 107cubic and when new the dealer installed a Stage 1 with Rhinehart full exhaust. Well, now I want it louder and a little quicker. Is it ever "safe or okay" for the motor to take the baffles out of the pipes as long as it's tuned correctly or, is there a way to make it louder and quicker without putting any extra wear on the motor? Thanks.

Pro tip: Use mounting tape on the inside loop of the highway peg. It will fill any voids that metal on metal can't fill and will ensure you have a tight fit (will also keep the clamp from scratching your engine guard too)

Hey Doc ,on The skull head foot rest you have there the little one is that a shifter peg? Also what are you using for the mount is that shifter linkage?

  • @Wooley689
    @Wooley689 3 года назад +1

I would also add, if you get pegs with the separate little rubber nubs, go ahead and buy extra nubs for the future. My HD pegs are discontinued and I have a missing rubber nub and it is unavailable any longer.

Does Harley Davidson sell stainless steel engine guards for highway pegs? The chrome engine guard tends to get worn where your boot touches it frequently eventually wearing away the chrome.

Hey Doc! I got a weird noise coming from my new pipes and i was wondering if you had any ideas. It’s a 2015 sportster and I just added a set of Bassani sweepers. Other than that the bike is bone stock. After being warmed up, there’s an odd bubbling sound at idle. Sounds exactly like a bike running with no exhaust on at all. Love the content, and keep up the great work!

    • @turfguy420

You lost horsepower over stock with bassani....all you got was noise and less back pressure.
Get a thunderhead if you want power!

Doc I have 06 softail heritage, I’m 6 foot tall and when I ride for 30 minutes I get a sharp pain in my hip. I’ve tried different seats already, factory Harley seats as well as saddle men seats. Is this bike just too small for me?

Hi Doc, my dilemma! I'm 5'1 and an inseam of 29"
I use to be 5'2.5 until 2006. I was in a head on collision riding my 2003 Lowrider to work. After my pelvis break and realignment and healing I lost 1.5" in height. That may not seem like a lot, but its huge. I purchased a 2005 Lowrider a few months ago and I need highway pegs that will allow my shortness reach them. On my previous Lowrider I had modified them for my short stature.
What is your best solution to accomplish this for a shorter rider that wasnt expected to live through the night, That will be 16 years since my accident this year. I'm turning 62 in September,
    Thanks Doc
