I can't get enough of this film. Certainly, a hidden classic.

I think I love this even more with the warbly sound that makes me feel like I'm watching it in school. Thank you.

I can be as fastidious as a beaver - as Winston Hibler, the narrator, described one - in that I fondly recall watching this fascinating Disney documentary at our Lutheran Pioneers (similar to Boy Scouts but with a stronger religious component) Christmas party in the Seventies. It was on 16mm film and shown on our congregation's 1940s Ampro film projector with the take-up reel under the supply reel.
The wavering sound quality on this copy - is likely from an aged 35mm or 16mm copy. Neither it nor the scratches in the film diminish God's wondrous and beautiful creation or the nostalgia of my youth and childhood.
    Thanks for posting it!

We were shown this many times in elementary school as a "filmstrip" in the 80's and it was a favorite of many. This is my first time seeing it since then. Ahhh the memories.

My wife and I were in college and it was our first date. Fond memories will always be cherished in early 1964,

Sound-pitch correction would be appreciated, but it's wonderful to see this memorable film from my elementary school days in the 1960's. I never forgot the otters!

The sound has been distorted, to probably avoid infringement of Disney copyrights. Disney never lets anything go. They reissue the same (upgraded) films every 10 years for the new crop of youngsters.

@@plashadpobedy or it could be that’s how the vcr was that played it. As we’ve recently found out If you record on say, vcr 1 and then try to play it on a different vcr. The second vcr might not (so call) be able to read the recording correctly of vcr 1. Which means,it might be a tracking issue. If that’s the case, then you’re stuck with this outcome, unless, you can find a vcr to play it correctly. As you can clearly see the green tracking lines in this video at times. Though it’s weird as I’ve never seen vertical tracking, only horizontal. Then, never green! Lol

      Sadko ϟ Садко ...
Greetings from Seaside Oregon, USA where our children have forgotten how good they have it and how truly blessed they are.
Too bad there's not some sort of Exchange program where when one of our kids misbehave we can send them to Siberia and you can send your good kid over here so we can try to spoil them rotten because they deserve it. And vice a versa.
My friend, wouldn't it be nice if all of our children could grow up with Beaver Valley in their heart. No nukes, no
      divorce lawyers and no hatred.

I've seen other beaver documentaries where a young male beaver hooked up with a widow and her young. So glad they don't kill the baby like other species. They take care of it like it's their own.

Those otters are hooligans. Beavers are workaholics, now I know where eager beaver comes from.
