I started to play EDH about 6 months... I Had a lot of good old cards and I dont know what to do with all of them.... my friends started to play EDH and i decide to made a deck with omnath... now when I play with that deck, I´m instant target of my friend´s spells.... omnath grows brutally... with seedborn muse is insane... thanks for put it in this video :D
Also, regarding Merieke, there is a big difference between her and a similar looking creature, Rubinia Soulsinger. Rubinia says that you control the creature for as long as she stays untapped. Merieke, on the other hand, has the creature make a "did Merieke untap?" check once you control the creature, so if you put her activated ability on the stack, and before that ability resolves you untap her, you will temporarily avoid the destroy effect. Also, the rules of the stack say: Spells and abilities on the stack resolve one at a time, with a chance for each player to play spells and abilities in between each resolution. As a result, you cna activatge her ability, leave it on the stack, actívate something to cause her to untap (for example activating the first abilityof Pemmin's Aura) and resolving that untap ability before ever allowing Meriek's ability to resolve, and just repeat the process as much as you can and want to, leaving her abilityies unresolved on the stack and an untapped Merike. At that momento all the capture abilities resolve, and the creatures will remain alive. remember, they don't die becasue she is untapped, they die once they belong to you AND she BECOMES untapped. it's really nasty and not many people know about that.
My favorite mono white commander has to be Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant. It's a 2/2 for 2 colorless 1 white mana, and it's ability is quite interesting. Creature ability: "When you have 30 or more life, flip Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant." When flipped it becomes a legendary enchantment that reads: "Prevent all damage that would be dealt to creatures you control."
I have to say I build and tear apart EDH decks all every few months ( i know bad habit but there are so many options and combos to play), I have made 16 of those decks and I they were some of my favorite and infamous decks to play
For my Golgari deck I choose Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord as my commander; it's pretty slow, but so fun when I sacrifice huge creatures and then reviving more to repeat the process.
Animar is really good one for two BIG reasons, protection from White and Black, meaning that about 90% of all the targeted removal spells that anyone would be casting (save for the random bolt or other burn) won't be able to target or kill him, so he's basicly only dying to board wipe, and if you are smart you'll run some way to regenerate him because most of the board wipes I see in Commander are simply "destroy" effects.
Roxaboxen90: Where Magic Lives Love the list, as always. But if you got the chance, would you ever consider doing a revised edition (post- Khans release, obviously)?? :-) Like, a lot has changed since pre-RtR, and I'd be interested to see how your opinion has shifted. :-D
I personally think he should wait for the Khans block to be finished. You posted this 3 months ago, so it wasnt known then, but we're getting older Khans in Fate Reforged and probably more new legendary's in Dragons of Tarkir :D
Jacob Leonard Yeah, I just saw them. XD And I totally agree, it'd make way more sense to wait til we see what the other sets have to offer. :-D Although I'd still like to see the updated list at some point...
Thanks :). I would go to the commander database on MTGsalvations forums (once your in the commander header, link it will be top of the main list) and find their Numot examples.
Both of you are completely correct. As I said, Oona is a better pick for mill, and Grim-grin is an equally good blue/black control dude. I chose Circu more than anything for his flavor and the memories I associate with him, so don't worry, I am not UTTERLY insane :P
My favorite commander would be Intet, the Dreamer. Yeah he can be quite annoying considering you can drop cards like Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur which instantly make your opponents rage for only 3 mana. But he can make the game quite interesting and in my opinion fun. Plus he is an amazing budget commander.
Niv-to-the-Mizzet! I run him with a whole buttload of Wheel of Fortune and Puzzle Box style effects, Manaflare+Howling Mine+Font of Mythos to stay on people's good sides, and of course Curiosity. He can explode out of nowhere, which makes for some interesting interactions haha
I laughed hard when you picked Norin as the red commander. I actually just finished making a Norin deck, and while I didn't win, I did a ton of ETB damage and played some major land hate too. Lots of fun. I also play with Teysa and Drana too and they're just lots of fun.
Like the video alot my opinion for blur I'd pick talrand sky summoner and red kamahl pit fighter talrand is epic making instants and sorceries two for ones and kamahl is prrfect for doing commander damage u can throw lightning greaves or other various things that give him shroud or hexproof and beat down on alot of things
I have a Progenitus deck. The best thing to do, at least for me, is to both play defensive (Propaganda, Windborn Muse, Collective Restraint, etc) and play friendly with other players (Braids, Gate to the Aether, etc). Get tons of mana ramping (I have 38 lands, plus artifacts and creatures that fetch lands), and anything with Exalted also works to buff him. Fist of Suns is a must too, and yes, it is possible to get Progenitus out turn four.
great vid man, the great thing about mimeoplasm is that not only does he work well with reanimation he is also graveyard hate so he is awesome graveyard control. Unfortunately, you need to remove 2 creatures rather than up to 2. Just my 2 cents. Also, Azusa looks pretty fun for mono green, Yeva can be pretty crazy, and if you got haste outlets jolrael is insane (thinking powder keg, nev's disk, etc etc...)
You are quite correct, she is a fine general. But if you notice what I said in the beginning of the video, I said these are the ones I would run, and I would not run Jhoira.
I've tried talking my g/f into turning her jolrael deck into a yeva deck but she prefers jolrael. I don't see why because she's playing some pretty good beatsticks and ramps crazy amounts of mana.
Sigarda for selesnya? An interesting choice to be sure. I prefer captain sisay myself. I need sigarda? Sissy calls her from my deck. Need a boardwipe? Sisay has myojin of cleansing fire on speed dial. Need land? Sisay says karametra or nissa to the rescue. Is there an army of tokens posed to stomp you? Sisay, please bring out elesh norn. All I can say is Sisay + seedborn muse + yeva or elvish piper makes a nasty army.
i'm building a derpy/fun-themed merfolk blue deck based around thassa. I could see purphuros + a goblin theme working too (lots of little creatures pinging everyone)
If it would be updated, I hope Narset would show up. It is truly the strongest deck I have ever built, which wins at around turn 5-6 every single game.
The french name Marieke which is one letter off is pronounced in english like this: Mah-rey-ache. So that is one close possibility. In Duth they also have the name Marieke, again with an A instead of an E, and they pronounce it: mar-E-K, the capital E and K meaning how you say the letter. So, you could give the first syllable a "ir" sound like in "mercy". mir-E-Kay
i built a prime speaker zegana edh, i like animar, and the scion of oona ... but the prime speaker with either teferi or the prophet of kruphix is really fun. i put in the psychosis crawler with teferi's puzzle box and the consecrated sphinx.... i think im gonna make a oloro, ageless ascetic edh deck bc of all the board wipes ud never have to cast him from the command zone to get any utility out of him
I go for Sensei Golden-Tail for mono-white. Mostly because the flavor of him training all kinds of things into samurai is too awesome for me to pass up. Wouldn't say he's necessarily as strong as Eight-and-a-half Tails, but he's tons of fun. I really like Zedruu, though not really for a strictly group hug strategy. There are a lot of things you can do with her colours and abilities. The main thing I like about her is that she's a "build-around" general that isn't necessarily so important to your strategy that everything falls apart when she goes away. But Numot is really good as well. I don't use him, partly because my playgroup hates land destruction. Also what do you think about Aurelia? I like her a lot.
My friend has a norin deck, its so sick, pretty fun to and it messes shit up hahaha. Ive made a mimeoplasm deck with cards that was just laying around, and im starting to think to drop sedris (it hurts :( ) for him, and use the good cards i have in the sedris deck for the mimeoplasm. But ive done some cool things with sedris tho.
here is my list of favorite commanders grixis:Mishra artificer prodigy bant:phelddagrif esper:zur the enchanter jund:prossh skyraider of kher naya:marath will of the wilds ceta:riku of two reflections necra:ghave guru of spores ana:damia sage of stone/sedisi the brood tyrant dega:tariel reckoner of souls raka:ruhon of the fomori rakdos:rakdos lord of riots simic:prime speaker zegana dimir:lazav dimir mastermind azorius:isperia supreme judge orzhov:vish kal blood arbiter selesnya;trastoni selsesnyas voice boros:brion stoutarm golgari:sisters of stone death izzet:nin the pain artist gruul:ruric thar the unbowed blue:azami lady of scrolls white:eight and a half tails green:yeva natures herald black:chainer dementia master red:zo zu the punisher pentcolor:karona of the false god
tcot0663 why is mishra on this list? Mishra should never be used as a commander as EDH is a singleton format. My personal favorite is Marchesa, cuz nobody likes playing against crazy life gain decks
I have seen some decks with him, but often he is IN the deck, not the commander cause he is so expensive and hard to play. But really, it's about fun so if you wanna, go for it!
ghave (which you pronounced wrong, you gotta pronounce the e at the end) is actually a terrifying commander and anyone I know who plays will remove it at first opportunity, similar to nekusar or zur. He's good.
Have to say, even though this is a year old video and a lot of my fav generals would have changed (granted I just started playing in Feb), my favorite blue general would be Arcum Dagsson.
What do you think about Thassa/Purphoros as commanders for mono-blue/red decks? They come down fairly early, dodge some removal and have relevant effects prior to turning online with devotion.
Well, I don't think I'm doing it "wrong," It's based around his Tokens-Counters synergy, running things like Cathar's Crusade and Avenger of Zendikar. It's more along the lines of a stronger version of the Counterpunch preconstructed deck, what the Abzan colors now embody. But I do see the Bant and Naya token armies strategy. A friend of mine has both a Gahiji token army deck and a Roon ETB token generator deck. I prefer to make "strong tier" decks that are powerful but can be shut down rather than "god tier" decks that combo like mad and draw hate.
what are your thoughts on azami lady of scrolls and tomorrow azami's familiar I personally think tomorrow gets overlooked more than it should what do you think?
Everyone has their own opinions. You have yours, I have mine. I think Animar has better evasion, protection, cheaper and more effective synergy, and is better costed. But that's not to say Intet is bad in any way if someone wants to use her. This video is my opinion.
+Ol'Chickens Distillery Excuse me, but how is Jhoira any better? :D You cast her, suspend MLD/boardwipe spell and Eldrazi, few turns later protect those spells on the stack with countermagic and you win the game.. not much anyone can do about it either
Karn is good to turn artifacts into creatures then do direct damage to them sending them to the grave. ...at least that's what Ive seen him being good at.
ok i agree for most of your opinions.... BUT 1. Animar is usually super dumb creature combo deck while Riku is super fun and flavorful. 2. Kaalia is a dick general that is OP and is really un-fun. 3. Numot is land destruction, which is not cool for a casual format. 4. I like Kresh better but I don't have a good reason other than awesome flavor. 5. Mayael is dumb OP and it costs like 3 less mana than it should. 6.Edric's ability IS too overwhelming and people DO freak out. 7. Basandra is bad 8. Grimgrin is so much more fun than Circu and is really flavorful. 9. This is a good thing: Love your pick of Eight-and a Half Tails 10. Vendillion Clique is $50 bucks which is definitely not for EDH
Kaalia is a wuss anymore, even in the most op control shell I can usually off the deck by turn 3 or 4. But with that being said I agree with you. The downfall is these decks cause people to build stuff that is more terrible.
A friend of mine has a Tariel deck which works pretty well and is fun for everyone. Akali decks are almost always unfun for the group. Maelstrom Wanderer and Animar are very similar in this respect.
SkyAngelrache My Tariel deck runs around single-target kill spells and some discard, then Tariel brings them back for me. Throw in Athreos, Iroas, and Mogis for utility (or beats if you get the devotion), the M11/M12 Titans for aggression, and the M15 Souls for fun. Who says you need to have Kaalia for Dega?
my animar deck was too good. animar is one of the most powerful commanders there are. i was 1v3 everyone else was doing things and i purposely did not attack efficiently so i didnt win right away and i still won incredibly hard, i was winning turn 7 no problem quite consistently and i didnt like winning so hard in edh. and my ghave deck is my first edh deck and has gone through so many changes. it went through an infinite saproling phase with earthcraft, juniper order ranger, and blasting station but it was too much of me just trying to tutor that combo so i changed it to a hardcore fatty recursion deck and its pretty god damn scary.
***** she is only fun if you are playing her. For everyone else kaalia is one of the least fun things around, its basically a show and tell just for you every turn. Whenever i see a kaalia player i either mulligan my hand until i have removal for her or i come out swinging hard to take her down before she enters.
Jordan Klein Im late to the party, but I have to agree. Kaalia is not fun at all to play against, especially because of how difficult it is to deal with her once she's out. Most Kaalia decks have a way to instantly get her working and if you kill her, some bs method to get her back. You know you're playing a cruel commander when you try to set up a game and everyone doesnt want to play simply because she's there.
Harvester Sorrow Blue isn't hard to beat if you just blue un-counterable, pro blue, creatures. Fatties aren't a big deal because they all die to doomblade. Reanimator decks all suck because grafdiggers cage exists. Sure aggro decks can be stopped, however when your general's ability is to cheat whatever the fuck you want into play, its fucking annoying.
I agree with a good chunk of your picks given your criteria. Im myself love Rafiq but he just gets hated on way to hard no matter how you play him IMO. Same thing for Azami and Niv. But your know who I find lets me play both and enjoy wizard tribal? Nin, the Pain Artist. She plays an interesting political role in games bc yea I kill you creature but you can draw cards! Then I cast cerebral Vortex...and you get mad lol.
For Blue and Black, I use Oona. In order to get enough mana to use her, I make 50% of my deck lands and mana rocks.
Woot you're using the Apocalypse's enemy color names!!! I thought I was the only Magic player in the world to still remember and use those. Kudos!
To be honest, I DID have to look them up to remember them all :P But I was playing then as well :)
I was wondering why he was using those names looks like I gotta do homework 😂
I started to play EDH about 6 months... Mayael player here, represent! I'll mostly build a thraxi deck after, that or Sion.
Scion is a blast... One of my first EDH decks, still run it, friends love to borrow Scion to play
love the picks!!my favorite is Ghave , one of my first generals
I have to say I build and tear apart EDH decks all every few months ( i know bad habit but there are so many options and combos to play), I have made 16 of those decks and I they were some of my favorite and infamous decks to play

For mono-green I like to use pulukranos, world eater. His monstrosity effect is awesome.
I have a Progenitus deck. The best thing to do, at least for me, is to both play defensive (Propaganda, Windborn Muse, Collective Restraint, etc) and play friendly with other players (Braids, Gate to the Aether, etc). jolrael can hit an opponent's lands so disk/powder keg would be awesome tech for her
You are quite correct, she is a fine general. But if you notice what I said in the beginning of the video, I said these are the ones I would run, and I would not run Jhoira.
Great video, happy to see Drana in it, although id pick sen triplets for esper =P
thanks, i am new with commander so i dont know what to begin with, i am seeing your tutorial of how to do a commander deck!
OMNATH is very fun to play with. I love it.
i have a deck with him in it, he is fun to use
Yeva natures herald turns a mono green deck bouncy and kind of blue, the sickest green general for sure
I've tried talking my g/f into turning her jolrael deck into a yeva deck but she prefers jolrael. I don't see why because she's playing some pretty good beatsticks and ramps crazy amounts of mana.
Will there be an update on this video one day perhaps? I mean there are so many new commanders out since the release of this video :D
Completely based on my time - I have a lot of other cool videos in progress (halted due to a larger spike of work stuff). If I can I'd love to :)
Roxaboxen90: Where Magic Lives
Sigarda for selesnya? An interesting choice to be sure.
I prefer captain sisay myself. I need sigarda? Sissy calls her from my deck.
Need a boardwipe? Sisay has myojin of cleansing fire on speed dial.
Need land? Sisay says karametra or nissa to the rescue.
Is there an army of tokens posed to stomp you? Sisay, please bring out elesh norn.
All I can say is Sisay + seedborn muse + yeva or elvish piper makes a nasty army.
Now of coarse Sisay can grab you Paradox Engine.
i'm building a derpy/fun-themed merfolk blue deck based around thassa. I could see purphuros + a goblin theme working too (lots of little creatures pinging everyone)
If it would be updated, I hope Narset would show up. It is truly the strongest deck I have ever built, which wins at around turn 5-6 every single game.
Both solid, though Purphuros really needs a build around. Thassa pretty easily fits into most any mono blue strategy.
The french name Marieke which is one letter off is pronounced in english like this: Mah-rey-ache. So that is one close possibility. In Duth they also have the name Marieke, again with an A instead of an E, and they pronounce it: mar-E-K, the capital E and K meaning how you say the letter. So, you could give the first syllable a "ir" sound like in "mercy". mir-E-Kay
Merieke represent!!!! :D My play group banned me from playing my deck for her lol
i built a prime speaker zegana edh, i like animar, and the scion of oona ... but the prime speaker with either teferi or the prophet of kruphix is really fun. i put in the psychosis crawler with teferi's puzzle box and the consecrated sphinx.... i think im gonna make a oloro, ageless ascetic edh deck bc of all the board wipes ud never have to cast him from the command zone to get any utility out of him
A new update for this video would be cool! good stuff though, I love me some rafiq the freak and mayael
She is definitely one of the more powerful Boros commanders, have seen some pretty scary decks with her :)
I would pick Momir Vig for Simic, Kemba for Mono White, Rhys, the Redeemed for Selesnya, and Bruna, Light of Alabaster for my Azorius.
spot on analysis i believe.
Great picks, except I def would have chosen Kresh for jund, and Sen Triplets for esper. I have a custom art foil Teysa I like to use as a general. :)
But ive done some cool things with sedris tho.
here is my list of favorite commanders
grixis:Mishra artificer prodigy
bant:phelddagrif
esper:zur the enchanter
jund:prossh skyraider of kher
naya:marath will of the wilds
ceta:riku of two reflections
necra:ghave guru of spores
ana:damia sage of stone/sedisi the brood tyrant
dega:tariel reckoner of souls
raka:ruhon of the fomori
rakdos:rakdos lord of riots
simic:prime speaker zegana
dimir:lazav dimir mastermind
azorius:isperia supreme judge
orzhov:vish kal blood arbiter
selesnya;trastoni selsesnyas voice
boros:brion stoutarm
golgari:sisters of stone death
izzet:nin the pain artist
gruul:ruric thar the unbowed
blue:azami lady of scrolls
white:eight and a half tails
green:yeva natures herald
black:chainer dementia master
red:zo zu the punisher
pentcolor:karona of the false god
tcot0663 why is mishra on this list? Mishra should never be used as a commander as EDH is a singleton format. My personal favorite is Marchesa, cuz nobody likes playing against crazy life gain decks
ive actually changed my views on Mishra hes a good combo control general
Just look Gaku's "Heads I win, tails you lose" on MTGsalvations forum commander section. You'll see what I mean :)
I have seen some decks with him, but often he is IN the deck, not the commander cause he is so expensive and hard to play. But really, it's about fun so if you wanna, go for it!
Both are solid, though Momir is definitely more control/stax type. I like Zegana more, though I believe this video was made before her release.
Maybe. I still love him he's so fun. I haven't lost a game of heads up yet.
I once used Kresh to deal 110 damage, definately a fun card when you build a token deck around him
ghave (which you pronounced wrong, you gotta pronounce the e at the end) is actually a terrifying commander and anyone I know who plays will remove it at first opportunity, similar to nekusar or zur. He's good.
Talrand, pheldegryph, and jarad are my generals right now
I personally did, but he can be a lot of fun (my bro uses him). He just isn't one I would pick at first choice.
Have to say, even though this is a year old video and a lot of my fav generals would have changed (granted I just started playing in Feb), my favorite blue general would be Arcum Dagsson.
So is my brothers :)
Oh yeah for sure i wasnt criticizing!! Just kinda throwing it out there:p i love both!
Treva the renewer makes a pretty good commander for bant.
Black-Blue Zombie Tribal/reanimator: Grimgrin, Corpse-Born
Merieke Ri Berit was going to be the commander I chose if I ever made a commander deck.
I like rafiq a lot, I have a uril deck, but it needs polishing, kiki-jiki is good too, but i know some people don't like him/facing him
What do you think about Thassa/Purphoros as commanders for mono-blue/red decks? They come down fairly early, dodge some removal and have relevant effects prior to turning online with devotion.
Momir is most definitely for combo decks.
When I saw Ghave I immediately thought Doubling Season and giggled.
Jehovah OMG why the hell didn't I think of that?!? And I have an Ashnod's Altar. -_-
Well, I don't think I'm doing it "wrong," It's based around his Tokens-Counters synergy, running things like Cathar's Crusade and Avenger of Zendikar.
Icy Manipulator is a must in the un-pronounceable esper deck
thx good video , i appreciated it
Vendulian CLique and tunnel vision. yeah THAT sounds like a great time....
Oh, I know, you have a great deck :)
I agree~but everyone folds to kaalia.
Blue Azami ofc!!
noran the wary is epic in my porphoros deck XD
what are your thoughts on azami lady of scrolls and tomorrow azami's familiar I personally think tomorrow gets overlooked more than it should what do you think?
Nice vid btw :)
Animar is my commander. Now that this video is out i feel like i made a meta deck
Everyone has their own opinions. You have yours, I have mine. I think Animar has better evasion, protection, cheaper and more effective synergy, and is better costed. But that's not to say Intet is bad in any way if someone wants to use her. This video is my opinion.
my favorite 5 color general is reaper king :)
For Dega colours, I've never seen Zurgo Helmsmasher spelt that way before
NIV mizzet has a 2 card game over combo!!! in blue and red!! i had him and changed for jhoira(still have him on my deck ) but that is not fun
+Ol'Chickens Distillery Excuse me, but how is Jhoira any better? :D You cast her, suspend MLD/boardwipe spell and Eldrazi, few turns later protect those spells on the stack with countermagic and you win the game.. not much anyone can do about it either
I made a thraximundar zombie tribal style deck
My first commander was scion of the ur-dragon, i didn't even know that he was good when picked him.
Everybody hates my scion deck now
Karn is good to turn artifacts into creatures then do direct damage to them sending them to the grave.
...at least that's what Ive seen him being good at.
zur is absolutely insane and i can only see him or sharum for esper
For golgari, i like jarad.
I love Rafiq. I did build around him. He's broken. I get hated out alot. I have been playing rafiq for 6 months now.
numot and rafiq are a very good choice. i have a numot, can you tell me the interactions of numot as a general?
nice video dude ty
Edric is fun and friendly and not scary at all.
Did you rule out Ruhan with rule 1? He's so much fun!
Well, I appreciate the support and comments, as always :) I am glad you enjoyed it!
Just played a guy today in edh using mayael and just getting all the big eldrazi's with annihilater and such
ok i agree for most of your opinions.... BUT
7. Basandra is bad
8. Grimgrin is so much more fun than Circu and is really flavorful.
9. This is a good thing: Love your pick of Eight-and a Half Tails
^
A friend of mine has a Tariel deck which works pretty well and is fun for everyone. Akali decks are almost always unfun for the group. Maelstrom Wanderer and Animar are very similar in this respect.
SkyAngelrache My Tariel deck runs around single-target kill spells and some discard, then Tariel brings them back for me. Throw in Athreos, Iroas, and Mogis for utility (or beats if you get the devotion), the M11/M12 Titans for aggression, and the M15 Souls for fun. Who says you need to have Kaalia for Dega?
As I said, to each his/her own :). Bot of those are cool, just not the ones I would pick.
my favorite for boros is Gisela, though i do actually with my play group could actually cope with her...
I don't know...he is good, but so is Savra. They do different things, but I think both are good choices.
my animar deck was too good. animar is one of the most powerful commanders there are. i was 1v3 everyone else was doing things and i purposely did not attack efficiently so i didnt win right away and i still won incredibly hard, i was winning turn 7 no problem quite consistently and i didnt like winning so hard in edh. and my ghave deck is my first edh deck and has gone through so many changes. it went through an infinite saproling phase with earthcraft, juniper order ranger, and blasting station but it was too much of me just trying to tutor that combo so i changed it to a hardcore fatty recursion deck and its pretty god damn scary.
KAALIA IS THE OPPOSITE OF FUN. YOU MAKE EVERYONE GROAN WHEN U PLAY HER
***** she is only fun if you are playing her.
Jordan Klein
my friend have a Kaalia deck. she is no match vs my mono blue, mono black. she's not that hard when you keep her under control.
Harvester Sorrow Blue isn't hard to beat if you just blue un-counterable, pro blue, creatures. Fatties aren't a big deal because they all die to doomblade. Reanimator decks all suck because grafdiggers cage exists. Sure aggro decks can be stopped, however when your general's ability is to cheat whatever the fuck you want into play, its fucking annoying.
is it but again Kaalia is no match vs my 2 decks
For boros imo i like Kalemne personally the best
ghave is like a mini planes walker
Powerpuff girls all the way (Bruna, Gisela and Sigarda)
Ceta- Surrak Dragonclaw or maybe Yasova Dragonclaw
I agree with a good chunk of your picks given your criteria. Im myself love Rafiq but he just gets hated on way to hard no matter how you play him IMO. Same thing for Azami and Niv. But your know who I find lets me play both and enjoy wizard tribal? Nin, the Pain Artist. She plays an interesting political role in games bc yea I kill you creature but you can draw cards! Then I cast cerebral Vortex...and you get mad lol.
Marath will of the wild
Interesting opinion on Dimir. Circu is rather weak in my eyes since you have only 1 copy of any given spell in EDH...
My Commander is the all migthy Sliver Overlord xD
