    The tire guides work great when polishing as well so the cord does not get stuck on the wheels.

    Josh also talked with these folks. Looks like some interesting bits to add to my arsenal of car care. Thanks for creating and sharing your content with the rest of us.

      They have many good products that actually work and are innovative. They think about problems and make solutions. Thanks for watching!

    Ben you may be a genius and not even know it. Using a half height bucket with the walls and letting them protrude out like that could actually be really handy. I know I'm often looking for a place to throw my mitt or a towel for just a second where I know it'll be okay.
    You may also know you're a genius good buddy but I'm totally trying this out when summer greets me again and I'm not stuck doing rinseless stuff in 50 degree Utah weather.

    Great video as always, but products seem overly excessive. I’ve personally switched to multiple microfibers towels as wash media. Guaranteed clean water, only 1 bucket, and no guards required.

      That’s always a good way as well. There are many ways to do it.

    I got those Detail Guardz hose guides when they first came out. My problem is that I always forget to use them! I mostly do rinseless washing now so when I do decide my vehicle(s) need a traditional wash, I always forget those darned hose guides. I need to throw those things inside my traditional wash bucket so I remember but they are very useful when I do remember to use them (LOL). The Guardz themselves (the original bottom grit lock piece) are some of the best grit mitigators other than the Chemical Guys company specific dirt guard. They have these conical type cones that really help to keep the dirt underneath the guard itself way better than the original dirt guard which I threw away because once you go to these bad boys, you'll never use another one again probably and see how much the design has advanced. The original was a good idea but I think people realize now that a LOT of the dirt would just come right back up through the wide gaps in the grating. This has been shown on various videos on RUclips over the years. These Detail Guardz Dirt Locks were apparently scientifically designed to keep as much as the dirt below the grating as possible but there is always a small amount (even on these) that will get back through the grates. These devices are mainly about MITIGATING your dirt in the bucket as best as possible and for that, YES, they are extremely effective. I actually rarely need to use the Dirt Locks anymore due to going rinseless about 80% of the time and I just throw five plush microfibers into the rinseless solution and never return to the solution with a used towel. Works beautifully.

      Agree about the original Grit Guard ones. Good idea but I feel like they don’t work well. CG ones are nice and these Dirt Locks are good. I love the wheel guides and they are useful for many other chores involving a cord as well.

      Are you still doing rinse less with multiple Mitts or did you find anything better thanks

  • @om3973
    @om3973 Год назад +2

    It seems better but I have grit guards and I use multiolecwash mits so it seems cool but for me word be extra tempting for wheel bucket but I barley havecany dirt in wheel bucket when I am done

      It’s just extra safety in any bucket for any surface you’re washing. Great quality and design. I’ll be playing more with these very soon. Trying Rinseless and other things.

    i wish the side panels they made shorter versions. I like my colored CG buckets but they are shorter buckers so those side walls are to tall. I have the detail guardz bottom but cant use the sides

    • @DetailingBreakdown
      @DetailingBreakdown  Год назад

      Should be ok just scrub on the bottom of the side walls. But I understand

    • @05xrunner
      @05xrunner Год назад +1

      @@DetailingBreakdown unfortunately the top of the grit lock on the bottom to the top of the bucket is about 10"' so the walls would stick about 3" out of the bucket and that would look weird

    • @DetailingBreakdown

      @@05xrunner I have 3 gallon clear buckets and I totally get what ur saying. Who cares what it looks like, still works the same as a shorter one would. Just do u and not worry about others. Have fun.

      I have two of those CG buckets as well. Are the Dirt Lock and Scrub pump compatible with those CG buckets? The CG grit guards aren’t the best😅

    • @DetailingBreakdown
      @DetailingBreakdown  Год назад +1

      @@bkp2527 I don’t have chemical Guys buckets so I’m not sure. I would assume the Dirt Lock would be as they now come with the special rubber grommet that is adjustable on the feet.

    To me no matter what we are still using dirty water road film etc. i know using multiple Mitts is the safest way was wondering if anyone had come up with something that there is no chance of scratching or marring the paint.

    Do you think this system is worth it for the Legacy sponge or the big Red sponge? I rarely do a conventional contact wash.

    • @DetailingBreakdown
      @DetailingBreakdown  9 месяцев назад

      If I had to pick I’d use one of these mitts. Between the 2 sponges u asked about I’d pick the Legacy but I’m not a fan of the sponges for traditional washes.

    Waiting for someone to design a bucket with a pump/filter built in to cycle through and clean the water. Prob be pricey but worth it if worked.

    Just don't forget to remove the tire guides before you move the car 🤣 Don't ask me how I know!!! They actually stood up to that and didn't just break, they just twisted a little.
