Ask The Haitians to leave and give them a Dead line to do so. Don't just put the Haitians under arrest in custody while walking in the streets, then send them back to their own county, Unnoticed. When their kids are stuck at school or at home alone. Apartments are full of their belongings and there are no ways for the Haitians to get their belongings back. Dominicans We are Humans from the human race same race as you are, not dogs animals and we don't eat cats even though in your eyes we are, and do. Just Runaway slaves.

The Dominican Republic can’t absorb millions of immigrants. Can’t grow or raise food fast enough. Housing demand, electricity generation, water systems. Can’t build schools and hospitals fast enough. Train teachers, medical staff, and all workers to cater to the large influx. Add transportation, logistics, store space, ports, roads, etc. supply and demand causes imbalances, scarcity, and inflation…affecting everyone and the poorest the most. Tax payers subsidies education, water, schools, healthcare, transportation, fuel, and all social services. No country can grow fast enough for a mayor influx. There are more Haitians on the island, and the DR must control the influx. Many Haitians don’t have identification and one mayor reason they leave Haiti is crime. The DR doesn’t know who comes in. The DR has helped Haiti more than any other country. Why should the DR expected to solve or even help something they did not cause. Saying “racism”’is absurd. Only Haitians can solve Haiti’s problems. No one can tell me millions of Haitians can’t manage a few thousand gang members. That they can’t create a democracy and develop a country. Haitians expect others to solve the problem in Haiti. The Dominican taxpayers can’t pay the current influx and if left unchecked, absorbe 50 percent or even more people in the economy. The DR taxpayers have sacrificed plenty to build a country. They vote and reduce corruption each year. They work and invest. They are a growing democracy and country, and the “invasion” is causing great harm. One can speak of Haiti’s “unfair” history, but know the DR and Haiti had similar GDP in the 1980’s, way after their history… Haitians instead of criticizing the DR, look inward and build your country.

Where are the videos showing deportations from other countries, like Jamaica? Why don’t you ask your government to take in at least 500,000 of the more than 2 million illegal Haitians roaming the country, many without any form of identification or documentation from their own country. If you’re so compassionate, why not start an adoption plan in your neighborhood and encourage your friends and family to adopt a Haitian family and bring them to your country?
It’s easy to criticize a neighbor for removing an intruder from the comfort of one’s own home. Enough is enough with all these saviors and internet mouthpieces criticizing the deportation of illegal Haitians, yet no one steps up to say, ‘We’ll take a few thousand to help relieve the burden on your education and healthcare systems. If no country is willing to take them, why do we have to? Let’s see how many your country is willing to take in or how much it is willing to donate for the Haitian cause. I’ll wait.

What is your country doing to help the Haitians people?
Haitian occupation. From 1822 to 1844, How can such actions be considered those of a "good neighbor"?
Please review the historical facts and consider what Dominicans endured during the Haitian occupation. From 1822 to 1844, Dominicans were subjected to various oppressive measures: they were forbidden from speaking Spanish in certain areas, the Haitian regime sought to alter their constitution, and they were restricted from practicing their Catholic faith. Additionally, large tracts of Dominican land were seized, and the Haitian government took control of the nation's administration.
Dominican Republic declared independence from the Republic of Haiti on February 27, 1844 and ended on January 24, 1856. During this period, Haiti invaded the Dominican Republic over 15 times, leading to numerous conflicts in which the Haitian forces were eventually defeated. How can such actions be considered those of a "good neighbor"?
The Dominican Republic fought Spain in a number of conflicts, including the Dominican Restoration War and the Spanish annexation of the Dominican Republic: Dominican Restoration War This guerrilla war was fought from 1863 to 1865 between the Dominican Republic and Spain.

@@Manuellopez-wb2rd in fact, when CARICOM wanted to leave “racist Dominicans” out and permitted “poor Haitians” left in, they paid the price that Dominican Republic has been paying since Haiti became a free Republic, in fact not so free since France imposed a fee for that freedom that they claim they fought for. After being expelled out in 1844, there were unnumbered attempts from Haiti to take back the country and all battles were won by the Dominicans who by the way, didn’t have to pay fees to Spain, England, France and United States for the many times that they tried to invade the country, opposite to Haitians who had to pay to France to be recognized as a free country, and just in the decade of the 80s they finished paying the money to France. In other words, they bought their freedom, while we have fought and conquered ours with blood shedding and sacrifice. Nobody helped us to be free. What is more interesting is that we have had presidents of Haitian ascend, at least four and none of them wanted to unified the island under one nation (wonder why) now, how many presidents of Spanish ascend or Dominican ascend has had Haiti? NONE. There was a time that Frederick Douglas came and visited both countries, when Dictator Ulises Hereaux of Haitians and Saint Thomas parents was the president de facto in DR, and he proposed to Hereaux to unify the two countries to which Lilis opposed terminantly and explained his reasons, and when Douglas went to visit Haiti and saw the much hatred and bitterness that they carried and openly displayed, even Douglas changed his opinion and agreed that Haiti didn’t have a solution being the way they were and still are including towards other blacks and mulattoes. Haitians see themselves as “superior” to other black countries and nations of the World, including African Nations because they brand the glorious revolutionary wars that they fought against the cruel white French domination that they fought for decades to become in 1801 the first Black Republic of the World, when most African Countries and American Black Countries were comprised of slaves and tribes. In other words, they are the ones who have lazed themselves and have made enemies including other Black Nations. It’s something that Frederick Douglas himself noticed during his short visit to Haiti

In fact, the Dominican Republic is one of the few countries in the world to have won independence twice, first from Spain in 1821 and then from Haiti in 1844! It's not as though Haiti never did the DR any wrong. Furthermore - there are certainly black Dominicans, and they are not being deported. However a light-skinned Haitian will be deported. It's not skin color, it's nationality, so the narrator should stop lying. Haitians in the DR work mainly in the sugar cane industry, which is seasonal; and in construction. However, there has been an increasing tendency for Haitians to settle in the DR, instead of coming to work when there is a demand. Dominicans feel, with some justification, that their new Haitian neighbors have behaviors that are less than desirable. ::shrug::

The Haitian Independence Debt was the result of the economic (and border) agreement that Haiti signed with France in 1825 to gain its independence from France. France agreed to recognize Haiti as an independent and sovereign country, in exchange for Haiti paying France a fee of 150 million francs, to compensate France for the loss of property, plantations, and slaves that it suffered as a result of the Saint-Domingue Slave Rebellion.

Many thousands vs hundreds of thousands. DR might not have the resources for everyone. I believe in a nation's sovereignty. France needs to pay back Haiti for the excessive freedom fee that was charged to Haiti. France made Haiti pay 150 million Francs for its Freedom vs The United States purchasing essential the size of half the land mass of the United States under the Louisiana purchase for about 15 million Francs. At this point France needs to take in a few million Haitians or pay them
