Black caviar CF’s had black interior prior to 2010. After 2010, they changed to burgundy interior just like lambskin.
Also, CF’s made with soft caviar (smaller/finer grains) or untreated lambskin will never have edge stitching. Soft caviar is available in seasonal colors only. Classic colors like black and Beige Clair are made with rigid caviar and therefore have edge stitching!
It’s kind of crazy that customers now have to do quality control for Chanel. I got my classic flaps, years ago, when flaws were uncommon.

So recently i bought a second one and i notice that my first one had a loose stitching and i never even thought it was a problem. 🤦🏻♀️ So i took back to the Boutique and they fix it in store. 😅

Thank you for showing the (I believe) My Perfect bag. Every single one I saw in the boutique had this creasing by the turn lock. 😬😬 Really wanted to like that one but I think that style is prone to that type of creasing because many of the photos I saw online had the same defect. Really have to be careful with these seasonal pieces as they sometimes do not have the proven quality of the permanent range. Great video and super informative 💗

Hi! Great video and tips. I did speak to a Chanel SA who informed me that the Chanel black classic flaps are available in either interior black or burgundy. It’s just the interior black is sold out. The newer black Chanel classic flap in rose gold hardware interior is black as well.
Yes some seasonal classic flaps have coloured interiors. But the “classic” range (black with gold or silver hardware in small, medium/large, maxi, jumbo) all have burgundy x
@@VivvyInVogue Interesting right? I guess that is how they mix things up. I think they brought back the black interior option back in 2021? The CA or SA said at this moment if available I can choose the black interior option which I love. :) Thanks!

Hi! I just got a caviar medium classic flap at the boutique in Vegas several months ago and my CC is not perfectly centered from top to bottom. I never really noticed until I stumbled upon some you tube videos. At least it’s centered left to right if that makes sense
Most of the seasonal bags have fraying leather on the straps. Apparently they don’t glue the edge of those down like they would with their rev collection (black & beige). I checked all of the same 3 seasonal bags in store & all their leather straps frayed slightly

Hi. Thank you so much for this video. Could you tell me about the zipper pull inside the classic channel?? Mine has No markings of the brand on the zipper. I’m getting nervous about the authenticity of the bag. It was purchased in Feb 2019 in Paris. If you heard anything about the zipper pull has no markings on the year or in general? I tried to search online and didn’t find much info on that. Pls help! Thanks!❤
Thanks for these tips. Thank goodness I haven’t encountered any of these with the bags I own. My only complaint is that a few of the chain links are twisted and that drives my OCD up the wall 🤦🏽♀️

Qs, i was offered silver hardware. Im such a ghw black bag person. Would you advise holding on to this bag till i find a one with ghw. Im not sure how this all works with chanel bags.. i have no experience

Omg yes I swear I looked like a crazy person getting low and all these angles checking out to see any defaults in a bag lol. The SA even brought out a magnifying glass and even I was like ohhh ok maybe I won't use that bc I don't wanna be that detailed but it was nice of him to bring it out lolololol. I just bought mine from paris this Tuesday then found out a tiny popped stitch in the back where you have two stitches in the back, near on the right and left corners, when i contact the SA there she said it where the final hand made ends! So what do you think should i return it?

Please note that when you have a black interior , it does not mean it’s fake! In fact the original interior color of the classic flap was actually black not burgundy
Very true in the old vintage models but anything new bought from store or bought second hand from someone claiming the bag is new or recent should have a burgundy interior
Thank you so much for this video! Do you have any considerations for the lining? I just got my first Chanel medium flap and noticed the burgundy interior on the bottom of the bag does not sit flat and has sort of an air bubble. Have you noticed this on any of your bags?
Hi hun this is inevitable as the classic flaps have two bags within one another. It’s not something that concerns me personally but if it does you you’re welcome to try find a bag that doesn’t have that issue. I find most do though
Hi Vivvy. I want to get the classic flap in black. I absolutely adore the black lambskin with silver hardware but I am afraid that it is delicate. So my heart is with lambskin my brain with caviar. What would you advise? Which one would you propose?
I’ve seen both in store . Lambskin goes well with gold hardware and Silver goes well with Caviar . I got mine on silver caviar because of my platinum and white gold jewelries and silver watches . And silver goes with a lot of outfits . It looks very luxurious. You should get silver in caviar. Lamb skin is beautiful when it’s fresh out of the box but once you acquire scratches in time it looks worn down ., caviar holds up really well

I just bought a new CP and the chain seems to get stuck a bit when you pull it from single to double strap. Does it run smooth over time?
Personally I think that commonly happens when you try to pull the chain when the flap is closed. It is very smooth and easy when the flap is open. My bags are exactly the same :)
The red/purple color you're referring is called 'burgundy'

That’s such a tough question because I truly love both but if I could only have one bag for the rest of my life it would be the small classic flap in black with gold hardware x
i dont know if there’s a “perfect bag” especially these days that there are limited quantities in store...i’ve been in my local boutique twice and not even a single classic in their inventory and they cant even tell when are they going to have them in stock,i was even told that the list are looooong(i live in the US)...looks like the game now a days if they happen to have one in store is take it or leave it ....preloved market are way overpriced as well,5 or 6 years old bags with so much imperfections aRe priced near new....maybe in the good old days where stocks are unlimited,unluckily it is different now a days....
I was on the list in two boutiques (in two states) but they removed their lists completely in November. They said it is first come, first serve from now on. Chanel is not doing lists any longer. They are trying to implement this in all stores. Not sure how that will work out. Do I have to build a camp around the local boutique in order to check the availability every morning?

I'm surprise you didn't mention the burgundy "inner" bag. I would look to make sure that the inner bag sits flush against the black outer bag. Many bags have air bubbles on the inside because when the artisan sews the inner and outer bags together, they don't stretch out the leather and make sure the burgundy leather sits flat.

I just received my mini square bag and the bag and leather is fine, but the stupid chain is messed up! It was all crooked and twisted because some links seem twisted which also causes the leather inside to twist. It was not like that on my other bag. I can't believe that with the price increase, the quality has gotten worse. I'm not settling! I'm so disappointed.

Only caviar has stitched edging.

Chanel do not have factory in Italy they have made for them as other luxury brands. All the shoes and Chanel haute de couture are made in Italy as they have the best artisans.

Paying $10,000 plus for a purse is sooo incredably stupid!!! They're all made in China these days and often times the really good fakes are made in the exact same factory, on the exact same asembly line as the authentic ones. I have a friend who actually used to work for a high end designer company in China. His job was selecting which factory to use to produce the designer product. The factory that is manufacturing the authentic product just produces their order for Chanel, or Hermes, or whatever, and then they just run through an extra 1,000 bags to sell on the replica market. THE HIGHER END $500 PLUS REPLICA BAGS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME EVERYTYHING. NEVER EVER WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A REAL DESIOGNER BAG!!!
