Who noticed the “Welcome Coaster Studios” digital sign
Yep
Mans got clout
I did
Same
yep
Rip. You were a good park
RIP fantasy island😢
I’m gonna sneak into there this summer for one last intake of the memories there
Mike Krzyzewski yeah I wish I could
Idk, that place was kinda crap. Im heading to darien lake. (If quarantine will even be over
Monopoly Man it just doesn’t feel as good once you’ve been to Darien Lake.
This was my childhood park, I remember going there with my grandparents a lot. This really breaks my heart as I had always thought I could go there again. It’s where I got over my fear of rollarcoasters and the giant swing ride. It just made me so happy. I really wish it had a better chance
Good News! It’s reopening in 2022 with a new name (Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World)
@@JeremyCoasters That’s awesome!
I went this year for the first time ever. And I have always lived 2 hours from it. I have driven by it 100s of time going to Niagara Falls. This year I got the season pass for 29.99. How could I not go!? And Taylor, your thoughts were exactly the same of mine. I was shocked at what I was missing! Great little, well big/little park!
Who remembers the days of when Tennessee Tornado was in Taylor's top 10?
Ah the good old days
Damm Taylor making us think we are getting a flying dinosaur review
Exactly
Well I’m from the future he did
0:21 wild mouse looks too intense for me
veryffff wild mouse 1
It wasn’t intense.
veryffff it’s called the crazy mouse🤦♂️
Whose here after the sad news
Apparently one of the actors in the western town is buying it and is attempting to reopen it for 2021.
Wow, a blast from my past. Went there in early 70's, have old family films from 10 years earlier. The Fairy Tale section was our favorite as little kids.
Great that it is still around.
Now it’s gone🥺
Why??..What happened??..
You got mad clout with that sign.
A few minutes from my house, worked there in 2018. Nice little park. Apex just bought the place 2 years ago, so it’s kinda in an awkward transition phase into a more modern park, which is great. I couldn’t agree more with the restrooms, Apex has been re-doing a lot of spaces at the park, hopefully that’ll get done soon.
Yeah I was really surprised when they announced it was closing. It looked like they were putting money into the park last time we went
RIP my sweet baby they can't hurt you anymore
Dang, that sign was so sweet. It's a shame what happened to the place ;(
They just closed for good yesterday
-DEFUNCT-
Coming back in 2022 as Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World!
The thumbnail kinda looked like phoenix at Knobels
I've been to Niagara Falls multiple times but never heard of this park
Lessardo ya it’s close to Niagara Falls, but it’s not THAT close, you would have to drive a little ways to get to it but I’d definitely say it’s in the Niagara Falls “area”
It's in grandisland
@@rockeeetttt yeah, you are correct...i grew up in WNY. Fantasy Island is about 12-14 miles to the parking area near the Rainbow Bridge, so while it is close on a macro scale, you still need a car and about 20 min of drive time.
We went there a lot as a child. It was my favorite place to go. This was in the 70's.
NOTICE. This park is no longer defunct. It reopened in 2021 under the name Niagara Amusement Park. It is now owned by Gene Staples, the same guy who owns Indiana Beach and Clementon Park in New Jersey. It will be fun to see what he does with this park in the future.
Being a truck driver, I’ve only seen the rides section while driving by on I-290. I had no idea that was only half the park.
Been there multiple times as a kid. Just a few miles from where I live. I've been to Darien Lake quite a bit more though. Fantasy Island has been through a lot of hard times. It's good to see it well taken care of now.
I’m here to get some screenshots because I’m remaking the park in planet coaster to honor it. I went just about every year for 35 years plus.
3:32 welcome coaster studios. Nice! Getting some recognition!
I live so close to the park and I remember hearing ads for it on the radio growing up. My family just never found the trip across the border worth it. I would consider going the next time I’m in the Niagara area though, especially if I combined it with a day at Marineland.
So sad they closed it
I worked at this place last summer. And now that it's closed, I can say that the bathrooms, except for the ones at the back of the park, never improved. They were so hot, never clean and only at the very end fixed the faucet in the single sink. This is the bathroom in the BBQ place you talked about. Overall, this place pretty much went down as time went on. So many things happened on the inside that the public didn't really know about. And I wasn't too surprised that it closed down
I work this park for 3 years both as grounds/bathroom attendant and ride op. Yeah the one in the bbq shack was always hot humid and the floor really needed a rework and not just adding to the 4th coat of paint. The other two bathrooms (at least when I was assigned to them.) were more modern and kept clean.
Taylor, there's a small park in Ligonier PA near where I live called Idlewild Park. It's a kids park and it has a place called "Storybook Forest" and is very similar to what Fantasy Island has.
As someone who lives 15 minutes from that park, he shouldn’t go there. It’s so awful
@@SkyrushFanboy I'd imagine that you'd think that if you're over the age of 12
Yeah I’ve been going there since I was a toddler, and it genuinely baffles me how the GP locals enjoy going to the park.
Something irritating is that the locals around here always say “someone fell off of wild mouse” Like nobody was ever injured on that ride! It’s surprisingly smooth for being the only vekoma wild mouse in existence haha. Unfortunately it’s never open. Thanks trashlewild. I’m surprised rcdb doesn’t put it as SBNO lol
Idlewild is the best children’s park in the country (not counting Disney), and its Storybook Forest is the best of its kind in the States. And Idlewild in general is a very charming place. Don’t listen to the naysayer here.
Of course, they’re all blown away by Efteling.
If you remember, he tried to go there over the summer but it was closed. That was right before he went to Kennywood to ride Steel Curtain and then he went up to New England
Can you do a ravine flyer II review
Big newish ride comin! Time to go back!!!
Really sad that they’re closed now. Used to come here every summer as a kid. Huge family tradition of mine
Parents used to take me every year when I was a kid so I've been going to Fantasy Island since the early 80's. Just went back as an adult 2 years and still a fun park. I was there in the summer and the waterpark is actually ok. Good wave pool and a few fun slides. the downside for me was the price which is almost the same as Canada's Wonderland. I live in Hamilton Ontario so about the same distance to go there or to Canada's Wonderland and there's certainly no toss-up as to where I would go.
You should come back this year when it reopens as Niagara Amusement Park and Splash World
Use to go here every summer back in the 80s and 90s while visiting fam in Buffalo.
I live on grand island I always went there during the summer it’s awesome
This was my home park and when it closed I was pissed at Apex because it got me into coasters and I spent lots of my summer there with my family and friends
As someone who worked there the 3 years Apex was in charge, Apex pretty much was made captain of a sinking ship. Apex tried thier best with the revamped kiddie land and bringing in many events but yeah it had a lot of issues, like long list of issues that caused the wave pool to be closed for the '18 season and the big slide being torn down.
That was unexpected
Nice seeing your friend alec again
I grew up on Grand Island and Fantasy Island was my favorite place as a kid. On Feb 19, 2020, it was announced that Fantasy Island has permanently closed and the owner is selling off the rides. :( it’s a sad day. It may not be the most spectacular amusement park, but it was our little gem. Thanks for the nice review (except the bathrooms lol) and I’m glad you got to visit before it shut it’s doors :(
Nyyankeegurl02 ya it’s sad
I'm the overnight security there (yep still there, will be until they've divested all the assets). It was always painful to come back after my nights off and see more and more of the place packed up. Truly is a ghost town now. The Coment and the ferris wheel is all that's left outside the waterpark.
@@JakobKaine_BrickJAK Do you happen to know if Gene Staples intends to add Cascabel to this park?
@@urbex_coasters Unfortunately, I'm not in the loop with the new park owner.
@@JakobKaine_BrickJAK The park will operate again. It's a sister park to Indiana Beach and Clementon Lake Park, Silver Comet will definately be part of the lineup seeing the work Gene Staples has done on other wooden coasters. The waterpark has already reopened, Silver Comet and the dry park will likely return in the spring. It is announced the park will get a new coaster as well, I'm guessing it's Cascabel from the closed La Feria Chapoltapec Magico in Mexico City (formerly Laser Loop at Kennywood in the 1980s, which is only about 4 hours from this park) knowing Gene Staples bought both of the Schwarchkofp coasters they had there.
You should go to Seabreeze near Darien Lake! It's pretty small but doing both the water park and the dry park is definitely part of the experience.
You know its a small park when they advertise that Coaster Studios is there
I’m so happy it’s reopening
Went here every year as a kid since I was 5. Was super upset when I found out it was closing.
Nice review but for me Silver Comet is far better than just “solid.”
Doesn’t matter anymore lol
@@TheCycloneHunter Reopening in 2022. Gene Staples is a good owner.
I have sad news, back in February 2020, Martin’s fantasy island closed due to financial issues. This is also sad for me and my cousin because we had great memories there. My cousin was there several times but I was only there 3 times.
R.I.P Fantasy Island
DUDE they use to have a old west shoot out show back in the day lol Black Bart was always the bad guys name and they would get people from the audience to watch but this was in the 80s and 90s when it use to be packed then it totally went downhill
Taylor, have you thought about riding Leap-the-Dips at Lakemont Park in Altoona? I grew up in Pennsylvania but never visited the park. Now it is tough as I am living in Florida with limited transportation. Your reviews help me out when I visit a park or a ride/attraction. Many times my opinions on many ride are like yours.
I need to combine this with Darien Lake soon.
Please clarify this park has been purchased and is in the process of being refurbished. "Urban Explorers" have trashed the park making the work needed more significant than it needed to be.
I am completely devastated that it has closed. I went basically every year since I was a toddler and I’m 27 now. So upsetting.
You should come down Long Island and go to Adventureland it’s a cool little park with a Mack Spinning Coaster. Great Review of the park, I hope to check this and Marineland out if I go to Niagara Falls
You should also try Six Flags Great Escape again
That's got to be some real humility right there to not even talk about the fact that they had a sign with your RUclips channel on it welcoming you to their amusement park like you were a king entering a kingdom.
I mentioned how awesome the staff were, didn’t I? We were treated very nicely.
@@CoasterStudios now if only every amusement parks staff was like fantasy Islands, that would be great!
As of today, it was announced that Fantasy Island will be closing its doors for good.
I find this park most comparable to Lake winnepesaukah, because a lot of things are similar between the two. You have the solid woodie, the wild mouse, and a wacky worm, along with many carnival rides. When you combine the Waterpark, they are near identical, albeit lake Winnie is worse because it isn't as nice and water isn't free.
3:35 did they actually have that on their electronic billboard
Bukem Dukem yes
@@CoasterStudios damm they knew u were coming
@@CoasterStudios That's awesome lol
Taylor is a celebrity.
They probably approached him to do a video review. Nothin wrong with that
I did SF Darien Lake, Fantasy Island, Marineland, and the Canadian National Exhibition all in the same day!
ur stupid then because 2 of those u should atleast have a whole day to do
Tbh Technical Park loop fighters are my fav flat.
Good bye Fantasy Island. Many years ago, I mean over 50, we went there with our grammar school class. I remember seeing the Wild West shoot out show where a guy was “shot” and fell dead off a roof. I seem to recall also that we were on t.v. too. Like the class was sitting in grandstand type seating and we were on t.v. Does anyone know of what I speak?
Mike Losi they did that show until the end man.
@@ScallopHolden I'm asking about the TV part.
@@mikelosi2874 it was not like that when i went. we were all deputy recruits
@@ScallopHolden I do remember being deputized as well.
Didn't know this place even existed... The only park I've been to near this section of New York is Six Flags Darien Lake...
One of my home parks :P
Do a video where you go to darien lake fantasy island marineland and great escape in 12 hours. Must ride one ride. And eat something theee
It closed down sadly
I never wanted to hear this was closing this wooden coaster was my first real coaster
R.I.P.
Awesome update can you do a review for Darien lake
Darien Lake review will be coming soon
RIP fantasy Island
Have you been to Enchanted Forest in Oregon? If you liked the front of Fantasy Island, I think you'd like Enchanted Forest. But I get that it might not be high on your priority list since it isn't really a coaster park.
I have not! I'm sure I'll get there one day.
0:13 Nice.
I gre up about 4 miles away and it's definitely a locals park.
Not a lot of people travel to go there and it's made for the younger crowd.
I think fantasy Island should open up again, I went to this park and took our children to this park, then I took our foster children. I am know 74 years old. I’m looking for a amusement park that has shows and other things for older people like to do and see. This park that had shows was great it had the train that went from the camp site to fantasy Island, it was so much fun and lots of good memories for young and old. I would love to see this open again with shows. Other parks have just rides and games, water slides. We need all that too, but shows and something really exciting and new to add on. I think the country show with the shooting cowboys was good. But maybe more different shows. Magic, dancing, singing. Darian lake got rid of all the shows it got boring. I like going there, but I like having more of a choice where to go!!!! So B please open the park back up!!!!!!!
They're talking about opening Back the Water Park section of the park and maybe put new rides there if everything gets fixed but it's going to be under a new name.
Q: How do you get there?
A: Ze plane! Ze plane!!!
Closed!
This place was my childhood but now it is all gone that did open it again but it is horrible now
I have gone to fantasy island a few times.
I thought this park was saved? (Or am I thinking about Indiana Beach)
Sad thing is. The park is now permently closed. And many are vandlizing it
Gotta RMC those restrooms
I live not even 2 hours away and still have never been :(
Who noticed welcome coaster studios Taylor why didn't you touch on that
On a scale of one to ten how well do you think that the park experience was? Also, I noticed that they had “Welcome Coaster Studios!” Banner on their digital sign. How did they know you were coming?
They knew I was coming because I had contacted the park beforehand to let them know. They gave us a tour of the place and were very kind and generous!
Coaster Studios that’s really cool Taylor! I’m from the Williamsburg area, and I was wondering if you will be at the opening of Pantheon?
Depends on when it opens. I will be there if I can.
Coaster Studios cool. I am hoping to be there because I’ll get out of school for the day haha. I like roller coasters pretty much about as much as you, but maybe a little more.
Its officially closed now :(
When are you reviewing Sesame Place?
@@DoswarePictures Cool. How do you know this?
I rode The biggest Rides OMGIT's amazing And I'm only 9
Seeing the word defunct appear hurts
I like like 5 mins away from fantasy island I went there all summer 😂😂😂
The park intends to reopen in 2021
now its closed :'(
rip
The remark at 5:16 is prime r/agedlikemilk material, just saying.
Idk Kennywood is my homepark and their restrooms are pretty horrible 😆
Now it's closed
Are we going to see a coaster parody on Silver Comet?
No
@@CoasterStudios 😔 Figured I try and ask. Looks like an underrated coaster though.
Bathroom justice shall prevail!!
Rip fantasy lsland😢
It’s back now, but has really weird hours
They’re reopening F.I. in 2021.
Lol Marineland as a big park? Meh Six Flags Darien Lake and Canada's Wonderland is the way to go 😁
Just because a company says the park is “permanently closed” doesn’t mean another company can’t come and save it and calling it defunct Isn’t logical at this time.
several rides have been torn down, the only hope is that someone buys Silver Comet so it can go to another park, it was for sale, don't know if anyone bought it or not.
Dragon Mountain Fanboy who says nobody can’t buy the park and put new rides in? Silver comet didn’t get sold and is also no longer Apex’s property, when their lease was terminated in April 10th, they forfeit the remaining assets on property.
Dragon Mountain Fanboy rides leaving mean nothing. As long as silver comet is still standing (which it is) is all that matters. Rides can be replaced and it’s probably a good thing that those rides left due to them being unsafe and deteriorating in recent years. Just because someone says it’s “permanently” closed means nothing. Even if the park didn’t come back, silver comet wouldn’t go anywhere due to apex no longer owning anything on the property.
@@dylanpuccio3448 I wouldnt call them unsafe, thats a baseless claim. No way is the park reopening in that spot, its struggled for years, its not like Indiana Beach which was actually popular. Besides, Silver Comet is probably done anyways, I can't see a park wanting a 20+ year old CCI... im just glad I got to the park last year before it closed
Dragon Mountain Fanboy oh they definitely weren’t kept up with in recent years at all... It’s not a failed amusement park, it’s a failed company running the place into the ground. I’d rather have an amusement park than having an eyesore in the middle of grand island, and it’s already been vandalized. I’d prefer to see an amusement park rather than having kids breaking in and getting hurt. The place was ran under the same person prior to apex for 22 years, and had no problems. When apex came in there were so many issues that a local news station had to be there 2 years in a row, with people demanding answers.
WHO WOULDN’T WANT TO RIDE DRAGON MOUNTAIN!
Jeremy Epner everyone and marineland kinda is weird
