- Most people know this park for their Intamin Mega-Lite, Kawasemi, and their now closed wooden coaster Regina. This is just the tip of the iceberg. This amusement park SUCKS...and we're gonna talk all about it in this video!

QUICK FIX: It cost 4,800 YEN to get in, not 48,000 YEN. My apologies! It's still about $48 (as opposed to $480 lol)
You're awesome Taylor! Love your channel, been following since El Toro review 😊
You can sleep in Japan for a week in a nice hotel for 48,000 Yen haha
I agree with Samuel Wetzel 👍
"But if u like dirt, you'll love this park." - Coaster Studios 2019 I would have loved to see this at the end of the review XD
thats rediculous no wonder its dead
I could do better with 2 minutes in planet coaster
Teddy Digno Career or Sandbox mode?
Out of all my hours playing RCT3 and putting junior coasters in my park, I’ve never seen the exact lady bug coaster in real life .
Same! I was think that when it was shown
Same! Didn’t think it was real lol
I agree
Me too!
I can’t believe Six Flags New Orleans currently has more rides than Tobu Zoo
Lol those aren’t even operating. But true though
Only three rides from Six Flags New Orleans were able to be salvaged. 2 coasters and 1 flat ride. The rest is just continuing to decay in the Louisiana heat.
@@tigerrocks503chase8 that boomerang probably would be able to still run. What flat ride was saved though?
Zach Coaster crazy The S&S drop tower which is now Sasquatch at The Great Escape
The shade.... 😨
@@ValleyThrills oh. Thanks!
It’s literally the Marineland of Japan:
No rides
Empty
Expensive
Depressed Animals
And they both have a ladybug coaster!
Basically the Japanese version of Marineland
I work at a Japanese company here in the States. From what I understand, a common issue with Japanese businesses is they cannot/don’t want to adapt. A mixture of sticking too much to old heritage and self pride can blind the executives from the things that are blatantly wrong. My guess is their business model worked in the past but they got comfortable, didn’t keep up with the times, stopped making money and fell into disrepair.
this park makes la ronde look amazing lmao.
La ronde is amazing wdym it’s home to Goliath a 10/10 coaster but if the wait time is why you think it’s bad I understand
@@epicsmiley3598 🤨
Getting closer and closer to the Tokyo DisneySea review. This is good.
Unfortunately it’s the last japan park i’ll be reviewing😬 so it’ll still be a little bit!
@@CoasterStudios number one bucket list park by far. I'm eager to hear your thoughts.
@Zombie Hunter he visited both Disney parks in Tokyo.
Regina wasn’t too bad the first time I went. The following year - the second half of the ride just crawled. Barely made it back to the station. Jupiter was much better. As for the looping mouse - closed on my first trip. On my second - it was a blast!! Fairly smooth (like most Japanese Togo’s) but that loop was so small, the forces were insane! Fun ride. But, I do agree - I’ve been there twice. There is no need to ever go back. Btw - be glad you didn’t eat there. Just sayin’. 🥴🤢
glad we chose to avoid eating the food! The looping mouse from what I heard was actually pretty solid, so I'm kinda sad its not there anymore.
Tobu Zoo: the Elitch Gardens of Japan
Airtime Thrills #SixFlagsAmerica
La Ronde: Hold my poutine.
Hello Airtime Thrills. Just wanted to let you know that I love your channel and i would like to know which parks I should visit as an American coaster enthusiast
Noah Berlin for American theme parks, look no further than Cedar Point, Kings Island, Silver Dollar City, Dollywood, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Great Adventure, and Over Texas for starters definitely!
@@noahberlin3953 what Quacken said, plus the 2 Busch Gardens parks are must-dos
I feel like you guys looked like those Guests on Roller Coaster Tycoon that pay to get in a park, have no interest in anything the park has, and leave after 5 minutes haha
Ye americans are kind of dumb sometimes
To be fair, at least he spoke about it truthfully
I visited the park in 2012, it's a good thing you didn't see the zoo portion, it's very apparent the animals are not well kept.
Lol u sounded so depressed when u were talking about this park, cant blame u cause it even looked very erie and wasnt in a beautiful location
It wasn't very Erie to me personally, it looked more Ontario
@@Nitrolord forgot i wven commented on this vid, but no this place looks depressing
@@bukemdukem1870 I was joking about your spelling lol, you spelled "eerie" as "Erie" and Erie is one of the great lakes. Another of the great lakes is Ontario
@@Nitrolord oh lol i see wym, i thought u were disagreeing with me that this place is very miserable
3:49 Christ! Even the Ferris wheel wants to leave that place
If he has any of that audio recorded he should totally post it. It sounds hilarious.
It’s like all the life just got sucked out of that park
If it closes, send the mega lite to Six Flags St. Louis, please!
Or better, Great Escape
Tobu Zoo: I'm the worst park in Japan???
Six Flags La Ronde: Welcome to the club
I really go flashbacks to La Ronde. Sorry you didn't like Tobu Zoo, Taylor. I guess a park to skip if I decide to check out Japan.
"You could have made a movie about an abandoned theme park while it was open." most classic critique ever - loved it
This is the plot of the brilliant anime Amagi Brilliant Park.
Great zombie hideout 👍
😂😂😂
Guessing by the title this will be an interesting video
No rmc Regina George :( we will miss You Regina .
They demolished it? What a waste of lumber....
Regina actually got a revamp in 2023 and is now operating again as Regina II.
I’m from India and it has only one main amusement park and I thought it’s the worst in the world but after watching this I feel good atleast we have a b&m floorless, premier launch coaster and mine train etc pls visit it Taylor if u can
What park
I'm pretty sure it's "Adlabs Imagica"
ugh. going to SFA would be like going to cedar
point after this.
Whenever I go to Japan, I always go there as my grandmas house is 10 minutes away. It sucks because Regina was always packed and the park was always packed whenever I went.
Sorry to hear you didn't have a good time there. When I visited in 2016 I had a great day there - but both Kawasemi and Regina were operating. We actually experienced a minor earthquake while riding the latter.
If anyone is reading this, the park isn't entirely bad and if you're nearby, it is worth a visit.
the 3 dislikes are from the coasters
Visited this place in 2015, then it was already in a bad state. But there were quit a lot of people and queue's that day, Kawasemi had a 20min queue on two trains. Regina 15min on two trains. And good that you skipped the zoo, we did went in and left devastated. So depressing to see animals in physical and mental pain, will never forget that poor elephant, depressing. We also left way earlier then planned.
Hey Taylor, remember when you were gonna go to idlewild in PA and it was closed? As someone who lives 15 minutes from there, a lot of Tobu zoo applies to idlewild, with the expensiveness, removing rides, and everything being run down. Their vekoma wild mouse is practically SBNO, so be glad you didn’t go to idlewild, because it is absolutely terrible lol
Is the silver ticket award coming soon?
This place needs to improve itself by being the Disney’s Animal Kingdom of Japan!
it has a loooooonnnnnggggggg ways to go if it were to ever reach that standard!
You know in horror movies where there’s filming done in a run-down, creepy theme park at night? This place would be perfect for that.
Totally random story time, and I hope this doesn't seem weird.
Last night I had a dream where me and my wife went to Six Flags Magic Mountain, which I've never been to in real life. We walk up to west coast racers, and there's taylor! So me, the wife, and taylor go ride west coast racers. As the ride starts, I had a realization and I looked at the wife and exclaimed "honey! I forgot to pack anything for this trip! I forgot clothes, I forgot everything!" So there we are, on a new roller coaster, just having this plain yet random conversation and taylor is just like " uhhh ok-k yeah what is going on? Guys you're on a coaster what are you doing!?"
Lol random but just had to share. I think I watched the west coast racers video last night, probably why I had that dream.
Haha
They wont go out of business because with less people coming they can make the lines short and sell parts for sweet dolla
Makes Six Flags look like Disneyland
Please review Castle Park in Riverside, CA, USA. It's an old park that needs work, but has a lot of charm.
This is the saddest video ever. Did you purposefully turn the saturation down?
so which is worse: tobu zoo or la ronde?
I’d rather go to La Ronde
At least La Ronde looked colourful!
@@HudsonDiTomaso and it had SOME good rides!
La Ronde is *better* than Great Escape!!!
The ticket collector at tobu zoo (gets on walkie talkie) (in Japanese) guys, the enthusiasts are here, we’re dead
No way
Lol
The colorgrading matches the parks atmosphere perfectly. Looks really, really sad.
Even Kawasemi looks bad. (And I know that the Mega-Lite is very nice -> Piraten @ Djurs Sommerland)
taylor tobu zoo used to also have a huge steel coaster known as mount rocky coaster
You should do re-reviews of a lot of parks you’ve done old videos on!
Love how you desaturated the video to make it feel even more depressing and eerie.
How can you do an entire review of Tobu Zoo without mentioning the legacy of Grape-kun?
Maybe the audio on the Ferris Wheel is supposed to be a metaphor for a day at Tobu Zoo
I went to the park the November after you did and I happen to go on a super busy day. I didn't have a terrible experience or anything it's just that the park was definitely more zoo than theme park. I did spend the majority of the day in the zoo section and got my rides on Kawasemi. It was a decent park to me but I wouldn't be upset if I never went back.
Won't lie, I had totally nostalgia for the ladybug coaster from it being in RCT.
Dang lol thanks for the honesty!
That is the most depressing theme park I've ever seen in my life... and I've been to Marineland
Would be interesting to see your thoughts now that they decided to refurbish and save Regina and make it Regina II, seems like they’re trying to breathe a bit of life back in now
Definitely getting a "post-apocalyptic" vibe during this Japan playlist. Scarcity of living beings, and a camera lens filter that's too dark for cloudy, rainy days. Final Verdict: LOVE IT
But then I'm weird, because I've loved dreary days since I was a kid. Actually hated waking up to sunshine.
This park makes La Ronde look like Six Flags America.
You mean great america, or America?
You know what....this makes La Ronde look like any of the decent Six Flags parks.
Can film a movie about an abandoned amusement park while it was open. Speaks volumes
"didn't even look like the animals were having fun"
As opposed to that crazy zoo in San Diego. They're having so much fun. Polar bears doin blow. Those damn tiger orgies. And don't forget the crocodiles get fed lost children.
This reminds me of the day my school was holding a craft event and nobody showed up expect me and my friend and then we recorded a horror documentary.
What
Thewarf321 How empty the park was it reminded me of a memory from school.
I've heard that the park is closing this year because of "high maintenance cost" looll
Tobu Railway summoned Tokyo Sky Tree as a sacrifice for Tobu Zoo and Tobu World Square.
A wild mouse with a looping? Now I actually want to ride such a coaster. Are there other wild mice with loopings?
Hopefully Mack will take that into consideration with the next wild mouse, if they’ll ever build another one.
Whaaaaat they are closing Regina? I am glad I got on it last summer.
I thought the park was super pretty and the weather was good. Stayed all day, rode Kawasemi like 5 times and saw all the animals. The ferris wheel is a story but I forgot what the story was about. Something to do with a farm or something
Kawasemi is great, Regina was rough, but not unbearable, and I did get some airtime. Now the Ferris wheel is called The Cheese Wheel, and yes, from what I’ve heard, it told a story about how cheese is made. Wished there was an English translation of the story. There is also a movie theater show that had some 15 minute Power Rangers like action movie. A pretty weird park, but at least it has Kawasemi. Regina was recently retracted by GCI after being closed for several years and is apparently much smoother than it used to be.
@@derekp308 yeeee I might go this month to ride it
I didn’t even know about this place when I was in Japan. Glad I didn’t I guess.
When is top 25 best coasters 2020. Coming out
This is what la ronde could become if six flags doesn’t sort it out this is more abandon then the park in abandoned by Disney
You probabbly get asked this a lot but worth asking: What kinda of Camera do you use? and what kinda of LUT?
Ugly looking park, nice looking video.
My camera gear can be found in the description for this video! I use a variety of LUT’s- too many to name in one comment!
Lol, we have our like local park in Kazakhstan (Almaty) the entrance is 10$, but it's still crowded as hecc, and definetly better, than tobu zoo
I have to mention that Regina is already getting refurbished by GCI and is going to reopen in spring 2023!
Update: it was already open and it's running faster than before!
this looks like the most depressing park anyone could ever have the misfortune of going to
So when is the Sesame Place or Stricker's Grove review coming
I think he did one already didn’t he?
Ultimate question. Which park would you rather go to; Tobu Zoo..................or La Ronde?
La Ronde
Seems I was the only one who loved this park! It’s my favourite Vlog on my channel 😄
You low key made the lake look nice
man I havent seen a park look this deserted since Six Flags America :p
Off topic, but sucks that you missed Toshimaen. Apparently, its closing this year
We visited the front entrance of the park with the intentions of going in, but decided to leave because it was raining and all of the rides inside were closed. We said we would just come back later. We never did.
This zoo is nice in person. Especially when there is illumination during winter. I think the creator just made the video look eerie or sad
The park felt erie and sad. I didn’t have to do much to the footage to make it look that way.
What's the wooden coaster in some of the shots?
Regina
The Japan version of Marineland!
Regina’s coming back!
Do a parody of Tobu Zoo and do all the coasters.
Hi Taylor,
Which one do you hate more, La Ronde or this?
I'd rather go to La Ronde than Tobu Zoo
Wow It’s really THAT bad.
I went to the zoo to see the cute penguins, I saw them, I was happy.
@Coaster Studios, How on Earth is Tobu Zoo is just as bad as La Ronde.
I’d rather go to La Ronde again than Tobu Zoo again
So, speaking of la ronde, a few years ago i participated in a french improv contest for school, and the subject we were given was "take us to la ronde. My entire group was confused, so i told them about the atrocities committed at la ronde. After that we changed the subject to "lets NOT go to la ronde"
Not a great park but kawasemi is worth it. I think the empty trains made it run slow, my later rides on fully loaded trains were that incredible, super intense ejector air and awesome laterals.
I’d go there just to ride Kawasemi and that’s it
Always looks rainy
Was it overcast every day you were in Japan? Seems so depressing never seeing the sun in all these videos on Japan parks.
it was overcast almost every day
tobu (musical artist) reference
Entry is 1700 yen.
You can't do anything. But it's still only 1700 yen to get in.
The unlimited rides are +3100 yen.
Kawasemi pay as you go is 1000 yen... if that's all you want to do, then you have to ride it 4 times to make the unlimited pass worth it.
So if you really think everything is crap, then you can just pay entry... look around and do the "free" stuff, do Kawasemi once or twice, and you get out at 2700-3700 yen. No reason to pay for unlimited if you're not going to do enough stuff.
Considering location I'm not in any rush to get there though.
Also, the "should have been busy day during the summer".... maybe. Their school scheduling is a bit different than where I'm from at least. Most kids are in school until late July or early August. Hell season for Japan amusement parks is Feb/March and then Nov/Dec.
So which do you think is worse? La Ronde or Tobu Zoo?
Tobu Zoo
Too bad it turned into this. This park used to be very good 10 years ago with the Regina still standing and the mouse loop still giving people whiplash. Too bad all the good stuff closed and the animals fell into neglect
This is like a really bad flamingo land
Those are air conditioning on top of each of those wheel.
The park in Zombieland was more alive than this one.
Not gonna lie, the fish at 5:37 in the green water kinda grossed me out🤢
thats kinda sad though
That’s the kind of park I’d rather go to work instead.
I think this was the park The Joker bought.
That's too bad
I completely understand why you don't like the way this park looks/feels; however I find it extraordinarily hauntingly beautiful.
At least LaRonde had people.
