- Official Kia update, this software update is available for all new Kia vehicles, watch this video before you update as there are UI (user interface) changes and some features added and some features removed, there is no way to go back to a previous version after you update, make sure you are comfortable with the changes before updating the software in your kia. Wow! What a thorough and very , very, very helpful video! I wish I would have watched your video FIRST before running to the store to buy a bigger flash drive. By the time I got to the end of your video and saw what the upgrade does to the radio graphics, I decided against it. I have a 2022 White K5 also.

I have a 2023 K5 and my user interface doesn’t have all that purple in it. I’ve tried updating as shown and I just can’t get it to work. It doesn’t even recognize that a USB is plugged in. I don’t have built in navigation, though. So are these new updates just for navigation and I have no software updates to worry about? But I’m surprised my user interface doesn’t look like every other low vehicle 2023 Kia K5 EX AWD in Canada
Thank you for taking the time to make such a thorough and insightful video. I like some of the features you demonstrated and I appreciated your before and after screens. Updating the map feature would be the most valuable but I tend to use Google Maps on my iphone since it is quicker and slightly more responsive. I don't like the look of the radio display. I liked the retro look and the design that replaced it is average if not boring. If Tesla can update your car software while you sleep, Kia could have designed a simpler way to download updates without going through all of the steps you listed. Since I don't see enough positives, I am NOT going to download the upgrade.
I’m glad my video was helpful to make your decision, I agree with you, sometimes we update thinking it would be a positive update, however sometimes the updates remove features that we like and that is a big problem because you cannot go back to the previous version.
It seems I have the most updated software in my K5. Do you have any lag problem when using Google maps or Waze through Apple?
So far I have not had any problems
@ I have major lag & delay problem when I’m using google maps. I tend to notice when I have to many apps open it delays my whole apple car play system
@@isaacawana979 it´s so annoying. My other car, a 2017 Explorer, doesn´t present any lag, delay, or anything! How could this new multimedia works so poor?
Do you have any thought about why active sound design don’t work on Kia K5.
I dont use the radio much and my drive mode has never been detailed like your previous version so i think i will get it

Not in this model, the model that has the smaller screen does have wireless car play.
Would this work on a 2021 kia k5 ex? My screen is smaller and would love the interface alone tho I dont care for the rest just want a better look if possible lol
It should work as long as you have an update available.

How to I update it to look like your screen layout? That's what I'm trying to get too. I'm following the steps but my screen doesn't even look like yours does beforehan. I have a 2022 Kia K5 LXS.
mine doesn't have the map/navigation button on the trim. is this not available for my model?

I have a k5 2021 gt line and I did exactly this and its not reading the update on the USB drive...

@@shenoamandigo4731 kia actually ended up sending out the flash drive for the update so be on a look out for it in your mail

Mines says validating update files for a while then it fails to validate. I have now copied and tried 3 times and still says the same thing.

Apple play comes in the same package so everything gets updated.

Do you have the same GT line or other trim?
@@NumberDZ I have the LXS so I forgot gt’s for some reason have a different computer in there. So odd
