I have always liked Pedro Pascal as an actor and performances like this are why. Also, for those who doubted Bella as Ellie I think she’s proven she’s well capable. Not a spoiler but the setting and convo with Ellie and Joel in the bedroom is almost exactly like it was in the game- all the way down to her reading the diary. It was awesome to see! P.S. yes the snow was real-the whole shoot took a year so it could be shot chronologically. They said it was super cold!
I think they’ve always been well capable. Most complaints were that they don’t look anything like the characters from the game nationality & face wise , despite there great acting . Lol
Just a reminder, the reason why Joel got scared of the Dog smelling Ellie is because she comes up as infected on the scanner, so he didn't know if the dog would smell it, too
Remember that black lady with the dreads was from an episode of the walking dead . She played a friend of michonnes that she knew before the apocalypse & ended up turning on her & she burned michonne & daryls backs & had those kids try to tell them .
IDK if you noticed this, but Maria's actress is the same woman who played Jocelyn in Walking Dead! (Michonne's friend from the one Season 9 episode who had the cult of kids Michonne had to kill after she branded her and Daryl)
It actually wasn't a weeks trip. After Henry and Sam's death in episode 5 it skips 3 months to winter in episode 6 so they have technically known each other for about 4 months.
The way Joel kills the scavenger by use of a chokehold that attacks them outside the University is reminiscent of the way the player can take care of enemies in game.
Screen Crush has a good breakdown, and one is the difference in how FEDRA detects the infected from how Jackson guards do. FEDRA used an instrument that turned red while Jackson’s dog trusted Ellie despite sensing her infection.
Great great episode. Like every episode so far. There is a reason why Henry is shown again at the beginning. That was for the fans, because that's exactly how the cut had been made in the game. One shot, then black, then dam. The reason why Joel doesn't teach Ellie much or let her do it things is that she wouldn't be cargo anymore. Such things create a mutual connection that Joel did not want until then. He doesn't want to give her the option to take care of him. Just like Sarah did back then. I mean she did the housekeeping, made sure he wore his shirt the right way around ect. Fortunately, after the quarrel between the two, everything changed. The dog here has noticed that something is wrong with Ellie, but he has also noticed that there is no danger from her. Something Fedra's detectors can't detect. They only know black (red) and white (green), just like Fedra is. Maria to Ellie: "Be careful who you put your faith in. The only people who can betray us are the one we trust." Probably the most important sentence of this episode if not of the whole series. Joel to Ellie: "Dream of sheep ranches on the moon." This sentence says so much. Joel already connects Ellie's dreams with his. But he does not see this so clearly at the time and still tries to prevent the inevitable. Ellie drank from Joel's liquor and it was "STILL gross". That was a callback to the DLC "Left Behind" Elli's flashback episode. Next episode Ashley Johnson (Game Ellie) will properly get an appearance in the Ellie Flashback. This episode was a feast for everyone who played Part 2. we met Dina, properly Jessie, Shimmer, Bison Bar, sheep, kids playing snowball, Astronauts, Jackson see from the inside. Simply fantastic. The campfire scene was not in the game, but was originally supposed to be included. So far, only a concept art was left in the bonus material of the game. I think the scene would have been important in the game because it underlines once again that both Marlene and Joel are absolutly sure that it is possible to produce a cure. Druckman said he can now finally show more through the series than was possible in the game.
pedro has mentioned it in interviews, that he kind of begged Disney to allow him this project, as HBO are one of their biggest competitors. and he said that they let him and it didn't end up being much of a stretch for them apart from the HBO thing, as several actors play din djarin, and a lot of the time pedro just has some voiceovers to record 👌✨ so scheduling wise it wasn't the nightmare it seems to be (I hope that wasnt tmi)
The episodes or attacks with Joel seem to come on when he's emotionally stressed. He was arguing with Ellie, he was arguing with his brother, whatever he was dreaming about was obviously upsetting him. They really should have stayed in Jackson like a week or maybe even two to just decompress if nothing else. Sleep, regularly eating good food, time to heal (Joel's hand is still broken btw), and time not being in a hostile environment would have done the two of them a lot of good.
I know you are a fellow big fan of TWD, did you recognize Michonne‘s “friend” from 914 Scars playing Marlene? Her voice gave her away fairly quickly for me.
I stopped watching the show after episode 3 as my hbo ended but I've kept up from these videos and about 2 other reactors and I'm just constantly disappointed. Which is a JUST ME thing before yall bitch. But the show just glosses over so many important things. I really really hope he plays the game and we get to watch that. As the story is done much better. Again, my thoughts, so if you have complaints, you're justified but be polite.
@Thomas so you even know what you're talking about? First off I watch these on patreon so no, it's not half the episode. And second of all I'm not talking about HIS video glossing over. I'm talking about the show with game events.

I didn't notice while watching but tbh I felt like I knew her from somewhere but couldn't put my finger on it

No infected, but I don’t care. This episode did such a great job with Joel. Easily my favorite one so far.
Great great episode. Like every episode so far.

3:39 yep they shot the winter section of the show in Canada so Canadian mountains I would assume
hey glad to see you on here, another solid episode and great reaction.Hopefully they didn't kill Pedro cause of his mandolarian commitment
pedro has mentioned it in interviews, that he kind of begged Disney to allow him this project, as HBO are one of their biggest competitors. and he said that they let him and it didn't end up being much of a stretch for them apart from the HBO thing, as several actors play din djarin, and a lot of the time pedro just has some voiceovers to record 👌✨ so scheduling wise it wasn't the nightmare it seems to be

Maria reminds me of michonne so much, exact same hairstyle & she used to be a lawyer too. I’m starting to think they used her as a reference
The opening to the winter segment of the game is AMAZING just go watch a few reaction to Ellie's hunting, promise you won't be disappointed.
It’s not just that Joel lost Sarah
It’s the fact that he blames himself for not acting
The episodes or attacks with Joel seem to come on when he's emotionally stressed. He was arguing with Ellie, he was arguing with his brother, whatever he was dreaming about was obviously upsetting him.

Yeah the creator said Joel has panic attacks, I'm really glad they incorporated that into the character even tho it hurts to see 💔
I know you are a fellow big fan of TWD, did you recognize Michonne‘s “friend” from 914 Scars playing Marlene? Her voice gave her away fairly quickly for me.
*Maria
I thought she was hella familiar then I realized that too lol
I thought I knew her from somewhere but wasn't sure
Maria kinda looks like that girl who kidnappes judith in 9x14
I am told it actually is the same actress
I would of took those 4 guys out from the window right away, they only had melee weapons, i like the detail of the dog too
Play the game and you can
Pedro carried this Episode! - Pap Brady
6:22 🤣 if only you knew who that character is pretty big deal 😏
All I know is I didn't see their breath like you see in the cold. I am worried about his health. Wish she wouldn't curse so much.
I stopped watching the show after episode 3 as my hbo ended but I've kept up from these videos and about 2 other reactors and I'm just constantly disappointed.

Your watching cut up videos of the episode and mad that it’s glossing over shit? You realize ur missing half the episode? What
@Thomas so you even know what you're talking about? First off I watch these on patreon so no, it's not half the episode. And second of all I'm not talking about HIS video glossing over. I'm talking about the show with game events.
It’s a pretty screwed up point of view for someone who is married and about to have a child
Lol you’re hair, not perfect for once. 😅
