Makes me glad I enjoy SPL. Started when I was 17, I’ll be 47 later this month, I can appreciate a nice SQ system, but have zero interest in having it in my daily. In order for me to be “blown away” you’ll need to shatter that windshield with me in passenger seat 😂.
I did a sq system in the same truck with about 1/8 of the cost! Front stage speakers mounted in kick panels and doors, with custom-built center console incorporating backfiring 8-inch sub,&4ch amp. It is imperative to keep the front stage drivers in kickpanals facing in at 45° with 6.5"midbass in doors. Passive crossovers used on all front speakers and that's about it the system had very good staging and about 110 DB output with flat response.. .
Back in the early 90s it was using two Audio Control 1/3 octave mono EQTs, a Audio Control ESP-2, and A LOT of time with speaker placement. And a fridge full of Snapple iced tea. I think we gave up on the ESP 2 as a center channel unit.
Yeah, I can't wait to hear one of their demo cars with the status gear. I have heard good things about it. But heh, it's Alpine. I will be getting the same 3way component as shown in this video.
I wouldn’t necessarily label them as a SQ woofer but what they did improve from the last Gen is they don’t bottom out. The previous Gen would bottom out quick in a sealed box.
Why is this card not using the new Alpine technology? Like to optima C8 DSP with a built-in amplifier. You can use your phone to set the staging but you can also use your phone as a microphone if I’m understanding correctly for a basically built-in RTA because you can see the acoustical signal live inside the car and you can adjustthe global Ekuban to fix that curve or reach a curve that you may prefer
How is the off axis sound. Would need to be in my lower doors or flat on the dash firing into the windshield. A panel pods are not a option. Would be using audio control dsp amplifiers. Thanks
What a sound Alpine is one of the best in the market, without a doubt. Tnanks for give an oportunity to hear that sistem, cause i can't hear it in person.some traks extra and it would be perfect the video.
Thanks for the comment. We left out that be air there is no way a mic could pick up the staging and detail that this system produces. But if ever your local stereo shop gets this truck there you have to check it out!!
So are coaxials always better when going for clarity? Or only when you are doing the super high res audio? Cause I thought components were better for the most part
In the video, it was mentioned that Android phone users can play Hi-Res music via Bluetooth Audio (with LDAC) over the HDS-990 interface. I have the HDS-990 installed in my vehicle, and the red Hi-Res indicator light does not come on when I play a Hi-Res track (via Qobuz) over Bluetooth Audio. I have coaxial RCA cables running from the HDP-D90 to the HDS-990. Is there a settings adjustment I need to make on the HDS-990 so Hi-Res music files play over Bluetooth Audio? Thanks in advance...
@Denis-dx Thank you for your response. When my Bluetooth Audio (HD Audio) settings on my phone are activated, I have the following setup... Bluetooth Audio Sample Rate - 96kHz 24/32 Bits Per Sample Bluetooth Audio LDAC Codec playback quality - 990kbps I'm assuming the red Hi-Res indicator light on the HDS-990 isn't supposed to come on in general when playing a Hi-Res track via Bluetooth Audio (under these settings)?
Seems like a lot of components in the signal chain black box to HU to amp to channel 13 and 14 to sub amp? seriously? no doubt it sounds good, but way too many extra and add on components here.
Yeah ummm i dont like knowing how much that crap costs, just makes me sick to reallise how much i actually paid for that same system with audio frog speakers instead of alpine
ILX 507,509,511 all these head units are awful there are a lot of connectivity issues with carplay and bluetooth as well i wasn't able to connect hands free and bluetooth audio at the same time from an Android device either only one is working ( either HFT or Bluetooth audio only one is getting connected and working stable) I've even updated the firmware to the latest version 2.30 and checked but vain the problem still exists Kenwood dmx series is much better than this unit and especially this audio control knob RUX-HO2 is a pain in the ass to get connected to the head unit overall this Halo series is a half baked cake.
The setting of this video was a casual conversation but I defiantly need to work on not commenting over what the other person is saying. Note taken. Thanks for the feed back.

You can get suuuuuuuch a better SQ setup for 10k+... no matter how much you polish a turd it's still alpine.. even the F#1 system is pretty damn unimpressive
I could listen to this man talk for hours. I know nearly nothing about this stuff but I'm a sucker for amazing sounding system. Thankyou

I came to beakers a few years ago for the Aplime demo truck. The guy was super chill and a nice guy and he knows his stuff.

Definitely don't sound as good as this alpine truck
I can't wait to hear the Alpine Experience week!
Love my alpine status they look good and sound great

Great video as usual man, thanks!...would you consider the new Alpine R2 line of Subwoofers to be more focused to SQ?
I wouldn’t necessarily label them as a SQ woofer but what they did improve from the last Gen is they don’t bottom out. The previous Gen would bottom out quick in a sealed box.
If i were to spend $8,000 on stereo equipment i wouldn't tolerate hearing about hardware limitations. this is just bananas
Every hardware has limitations. That's just 📠
11:58 Is there a tuning curve from Alpine?
Would have like to have seen the interaction of the 509 and 990. What’s controlling what.

I wish. I'm from Portugal, but i would love to have that oportunity.
But a professional mic does make a diference.
Stay on this track. Congrats.

can you do a shoot-out on Alpine iLX-511 vs Sony XAV-9500ES, pros and cons on both units and best overall.
That would be a good one! We’ll see what we can do
Just curious, I believe if you have this setup but do not have the sound source. The soundstage cannot demo out right?

Make sure your LDAC is set to optimize music, that's a transfer speed of 990k. LDAC supports three speeds, it's only the top speed being High Res

To anyone, please don't aim mids and tweets that way... Especially tweets!
12k ? Sundown help😂

How do u like audio frog ?

Damn harsh words. 😔😔what do you recommend?
That's why you can't even recommend anything.
