I’m picturing my wife’s face as I explain I need to replace our 1 year old 4K TV with a £1500+ 4K TV. I expect I’ll be playing 60fps for at least the next 4 years.
I think you are fine. To be honest, the bigger jump is from 30fps to 60. Not as much from 60 to 120fps. The few games I have gone back to that went from 30 to 60fps - yes, this was so very much needed.
60 to 120fps- Call of Duty's Warzone is possible at 120fps on the Series X, and on the LG CX I frankly did not notice a real difference (I played it after the update to 120fps, without knowing, and did not feel a difference).
Waste of money bro. There’s cheaper tvs
@A Dude so I need to put a monitor in front of my TV? 🤦♂️😂🤣
You need the LG nano86 hdmi2.1 the absolute cheapest next gen TV 579 on sale black Friday
People who want 4k 120 fps only have tvs to choose from right now.
I have an older LG OLED, and I had thought of plugging my Series X into my PC monitor for 120fps, but decided I didn't want to half the resolution and lose HDR. 60FPS has always looked great to me.
Yea my Samsung QLED doesn't do 4K 120Hz it does it at 60 smh

That's for sure man. I play on a 144hz display on pc, so i'm kind of used to it. But last week, I played Valhalla for the first time on xbox one x at 30fps. The next day I played on Series X at 60fps and it's so much better. Also tried Cold War multiplayer with 120hz mode activated, at first I thought it was as smooth as 60fps, then I switched back to 60hz mode and god.... It's so much smoother at 120fps

I installed a 2tb ssd in my xbox one x so my load times mostly keep up with the series x. Problem is that future games like halo infinite are only gonna play at 30 fps on my console, so ssd be damned, I still have to upgrade my console :(
To the people saying they don’t notice a difference in FPS must not be playing on an actual 120hz tv or monitor. I have the series x and I play on a AOC 32 inch 144hz monitor and I can confirm it’s definitely a whole new experience. Playing halo at 120fps is a game changer.
I play on a AOC C27G2Z you can play 120 fps 1080p but not at 4k
I CAN TELL But I rather have 4k60fps over 1430p120fps

@King Aamon my bad I was mistaken the Xbox series x was live on Wal-Mart today there now sold out but search up on RUclips there's RUclips's like linus Wilson and jake redael who have video on this

To clarify a couple of things.
1. You need an Xbox Series X or S, One S or One X can't do 120fps (even though they can display 120Hz, which is a bit different scenario)
2. To run full HDMI 2.1 spec such as 4K120 or 8K60 you need a compatible TV. HDMI 2.1 also supports Variable Refresh Rate.
3. However, you can also run games at 120Hz/120fps on a monitor without HDMI 2.1. Your max resolution in this case can reach only 1440p on an older version of HDMI. That's also usually without HDR support. But such gaming monitors often come with FreeSync which is equivalent to Variable Refresh Rate. I'm using an Acer VG270UP.
So if you are looking for a cheaper way to get into VRR or 120Hz, Xbox Series X|S fully support gaming monitors! This may be a factor for you if you're a competitive player.
But in all honestly I preferred my 65inch HDR compatible TV at 60Hz, as that was just enough for me. The difference between 120Hz and 60Hz is nothing like between 30 and 60Hz. Yes, it is better but I enjoyed picture quality far more than ultra high framerates.
Correct me please. I have an xbox box seriee x. And i recently bought a lg c1 "gamming" tv that supports hdmi 2.1 and 120hz at 4k. Does that mean i can run the game on 120fps on 4k? Or must i down the resolution to 1440p to achieve 120fps?

@@null643 it can support it because in the xbox options I can set 120fps
@Foaad Hisham It's still very slight and to the extent each persons notices will also vary.
120fps is great, but if you don't have a TV capable of 120Hz then you're good with 60fps. In some single player games I prefer the higher quality graphics/ray tracing to 120fps. Competitive shooters and racers are best exploited in 120fps, but a solid 60fps is still great.

A lot of people don't realize that while their TV reports it can do 120fps, a lot of these TV's were shipped with 60hz panels. Also, anyone watching these stupid side-by-side comparisons for FPS on a video that isn't 120fps anyway is an idiot.
Thank you for your videos man, much love from Amsterdam
Been having a hard rime deciding between 1440p and 4k .
If you play competitively and want the little edge, then get 1440p then you could probs boost the frame rate, but if you love visuals, get 4k
Well on competetive games you'd probably use the extra fps, but on more scenic and slower games the 4k will really let the games shine :)
Not probably boost, you WILL boost. The series x can only run 120fps 1440, NOT 4k unless you have capable tv (98% of you don't, since 98% of tvs out in existence dont have HDMI 2.1)
Games 1440, media 4k. Problem solved
Do not buy the series s if you own the Xbox one x...4K is major, get the series x! It’s really nice, and fast...games look great, played Mafia 3 not too long ago and it looks crisp! 2k21 looks great, not that easy to do layups l😂
thank GOD i decided to go future proof for my TV. Went the the LG C9 OLED. Can't wait to game in 120FPS ughhhhh
I play in 120hz and wouldn’t say it changes my competitive edge that much ! With warzone and desync I love the way a guy can slide in and cause I’m preaiming the corner/door I lose as he’s already shooting me before I see him !
Can’t wait to get my series X, I was able to get one through Walmart!
Dude I won an Xbox series X at an event at my school. I can’t wait!
That's great! :) I still have yet to get one and want one so bad.
For anyone that needs an affordable TV Thats supports 4k 120hz/hdmi 2.1, HDR, AMD freesync premium. The LG nano85 series is a good one. I use the 49inch. Roughly about $500-$600 depending where you buy it from.
I'm just gonna be content with my 1440p 144hz monitor for now. And I'll wait for the prices of 4k 144hz monitors to drop down in a couple years.
I vouch for this!!
After getting the XSX I switched from an 82" QLED screen running 4K / HDR @ 60fps to a 32" curved monitor running 1440p @ 120fps.
Even though the former looked and felt good there is no way it can match 120fps, the latter is silky smooth. Love to have the combination of HDMI 2.1 / 4K / 120fps / HDR / BIG all in one but that's not going to happen for some time!
can you get 1440p at 120fps on a series s? thanks
Lg C10 Lg CX will do all you want at any size.
You need a mouse and keyboard to take really advantage of 120fps.
I’ll stick with PC (GTX 1080Ti - I7-8700K - 16GB DDR4 -etc.) for my 1st person shooters.
I use my Series X for non 1st person shooter games as the game pad / controller just isn’t ideal for these types of games. Direction changes aren’t quick enough to justify really high frame rates with a controller. 60 fps seems pretty optimal in this case.
What we need is the "Your games will look and play better on Xbox Series X" to actually be true! Whether it's 3rd party Devs not optimising their games or not, this needs sorting.
Yeah, they need they need to optimize it for xsx , when ps5 is better optimized becsuse the ps5 game devs stayed with the same devkit, while xbox game davs got a new devkit, but over time both ps5 and xsx will significently imrove
Optimization for both consoles is the same for 3rd party games
It's literally been 10 days since the launch of the console. As a Series X owner myself, I understand your frustration. But, I do think you need to manage your expectations a little bit. We probably won't see the tech and hardware utilized and fully realized by developers until at least the Summer. The specs are there, and with time, the optimization will come, along with 1st and 3rd party titles that make use of the toolset.
@@spicynachos2762 Not generally.
I really dont notice a difference and I was playing ori @ 120. Seemed the same to me. Just the 4k visual was better than the 1080p I had with my xbox one.
I've tried games that run at 120fps on both settings and notice virtually no difference. Personally I'm happy with 60fps, which means being able to run the X through my soundbar, which doesn't support 120fps pass through.
It is possible, some people have slow image perception.
The difference I realise is my performance is better on MW2 on 120fps
30 to 60 frames is cool but 60 to 120 is amazing. It's almost as if you are moving faster and smoother. I play 1080p 120hz cold war on my series x. I see small difference from 2k 120.. if anything I lose the smooth 120.
I think most of us are used to gaming at 30fps
30FPS Walking Simulator
That's criminal. Gaming is so much better at 60, let alone 120. You console gamers have no idea how bad you've had it, but thankfully you're getting better options now.
Yea it's just that he said most of us are used to 60
My thoughts exactly..went and played wipeout on PS4 30fps and it’s really good, I don’t yet know what the fuss is about..but I’m willing to find out.
Depends what the game is. I play on pc and there are some games I lock to 30fps out of preference, even though my rig can handle them 100+ on max settings. Racing and shooting is 60 minimum. Witcher 3 is unplayable at 60fps for me. Just looks awful to my eyes. Need it at 30
Only issue is as soon as you play a game that's locked to 60fps on a 120hz tv (Older COD titles & BF 2042 for example) the motion frame rate drop is appalling, soon as you move the camera it's down to 34-40fps 😤
Are there any 4K 120+ hz HDMI 2.1 monitors yet?
@@cmpc724 Depends on what you consider major difference, but the Series S does 1440p 120 so I thought if I have the series x I should probably take full advantage of it. You can definitely tell a difference though.
I would but there’s a huge problem with frequency timings on monitors and the Xbox series. FYI NOT ALL 120/144hz 1440p MONITORS WILL WORK. It’s quite common after seeing many threads and subreddits on this, and happened to me. So be careful when buying a monitor guys.

Black Ops Cold War on the other hand is at a constant 120 FPS and I don't even need VRR on because it's already so smooth.
I still can’t play Cold War.. And I’m on my replacement Series X from MS already. The first one I had bricked after the first day.
No way that sucks
I do and its Awesome! With auto HDR and quick resume to boot.
My Xbox friends are always surprised how quick I can start a game😂 I love the quick resume feature
Too bad there's no perfect display for this. LG CX was so close yet has VRR issues and gamma curve issues. Waiting for the LG C1 at this point.
Seriously, TV's are so behind. What's worse is that they've advertised 120hz for years - but straight up just lied about it. My TV said 120hz, but the actual panel on it is only 60hz. My TV said HDR, but it doesn't have LED dimming, or support WCG.
I almost bought a CX, but the crushed blacks and it's inability to handle film-grain was the kill-shot for me. Then you look at a Samsung QLED and it get's so bright and like.. wasn't that half the point of HDR? Bright fire, for example.
How can i see the difference when 60/120fps is compared when i only have a 60hz screen?
1:34 can really see how 120 fps is so much better than 60!
Also would I be going wrong in changing the GB settings on my Xbox in what my monitor gives me, in terms of visuals/graphics, there's an option that says what Gigabits you can choose...??
I’ve tried to use mine on the tv that can’t handle it and it’s worst what
what basic info do I need to look at before buying a monitor what features do I need to know before I buy any help ?
Wonder what the resolution is tho to achieve 120 FPS. 1080p? Or 1440 with lowered graphics?
Will series X run more consistent frames on 120hz with 1080p? or 1440p?
Thank god my monitor already has 144ghz @1ms my xbox could utilise is before just need to actually be able to secure a series x.
hey, u guy's got any idea on stock availability timings?
@King Aamon say that again
Just got a monitor and a xbox for the first time and 120fps omg I can't go back now
The part where you chose 120hz is not in my settings anymore as i pressed something and now is gone. And also says my tv is not 120fps capable, but it was yesterday. Any ideas as its driving me crazy
120fps on a controller is not worth the visual trade-off needed to get it. if you think you feel a difference it's placebo effect. On PC with a mouse it's different because the input method is so precise.
So my tv can run both 4K and 120fps, but won’t allow me to do so simultaneously. Is there a work around for this
So on Xbox series x 120fps graphic be at 1440p? Not 4k
What monitor do people recommend for 120fps?
Hopefully I’m not to late to get a response but my question is I have a q800t so when placing my Xbox series x in 120fps mode. My tv always shows a output of 120fps when I look at the info. So when I go into a game and it doesn’t offer 120fps am I playing at 60fps or am I playing at 120 since my tv output is at 120 at all times also by doing this am I losing ray tracing feature
yeah but you can't get RT on COD Cold War unless you turn it off in settings, then you forget to turn it back on
LG CX is 4K at 120 I think it’s capped at 40 or 42 gb/sec but I think series x is also capped at that, got a hdmi 2.1a update on the LG CX recently. Of course the C2 and G2 are out now. CX also has g-sync and free sync support. I think it’s a great gaming tv.
I had a 1080p 75hz monitor when I had the Xbox one then when my series x got delivered plugged it in to the monitor I was like nope so went out and bought a 1440p 144hz with freesync 1ms response time and I was like wow 😳 I now feel I have jumped 2 gen consoles my WARZONE gameplay has improved massively
Do I need a certain hdmi cable to get 120 FPS for Xbox series S? My monitor claims it’s not available with the consoles provided cable but it’s specs offer it. It’s an Asus VG278QR
you actually not only need a 120Hz+ Monitor/TV, but also one that supports HDMI 2.1.. something VERY important that you don't mention in the video.
Do I need to have the game downloaded on the internal storage to have it upgraded?
This is misleading not many 120hz monitors have 2.1 Hdmi why not mention that
because you don't need hdmi 2.1 on a monitor. You can just play at 1440p at 120Hz, even with FreeSync. Because that's exactly my setup.
