An amphibious ready group (ARG), led by an LPH flat-top and accompanied by an attack submarine could do it. Note that (1) an LPH can carry a number of F-35 VSTOL aircraft, (2) the ARG consists of 6 or more USN ships, and (3) attack submarines can carry both torpedoes and missile systems now.

Wouldn't a 2,000 pound JDAM blow those landing ships in half? I heard those things can bring down tall buildings by blowing out their structural supports.
@@bighands69 Landing ships most certainly can, if you set off the munitions in the cargo. Unless you meant aircraft carriers, which these are not. They're ships designed to transport troops, tanks, ammunition, etc. to the shore directly. They can beach themselves and then a door opens in the front letting all the assets be unloaded directly onto the beach.
Hey, Putin. I see you got a slava cruiser down there with you. Putin: Yeah, that's right. We got a whole... Hey, Putin. That slava cruiser's not with you anymore.
This was awesome, but could you do a similar scenario using only assets that Ukraine has? See if it would be theoretically possible to pull it off with their older tech and aircraft?
The RL Moskva was seriously damaged today by something. The Ukrainians claimed to have hit it with two missiles from a hidden Neptune missile battery. The Russians say it was a fire onboard that set off some ammunition. So, if it is now inoperable, is the rest of the Black Sea Fleet now vulnerable to high altitude air strikes like you folks demonstrated?
ironic - 30 missiles cant sink a DCS fleet. In reality, all it took was 2. Shows the innaccuracy of DCS when it comes to missiles and spotting stuff. This is probably the first recorded anti ship operation in modern history where two equals (in tech) met. Pentagon and everyone else in navy ops are now scared shitless as it proves that they all rely on theory of anti missile systems and radars.. and it failed in reality. One thing to be out in open sea with no civilians but in a small area like the black sea with outside interference a anti ship missile is way more effective then previous thought.
@@jmkhenka Maybe you have more up to date info than I do...but those particular missiles are subsonic and have small warheads. They shouldn't have been able to close with a guided missile cruiser, much less seriously damage it. However, if it was operating too close to shore, or the crew didn't react to the threat competently, or if that ship had design flaws that meant that it really can't take hits, then those could have all been factors...and none of us would be surprised by any of those factors given what we've already seen of the Russian military during this conflict. Regardless, Turkey had closed the entrance to the Black Sea to all warships, so if they can't repair that cruiser and put it back into service, then there likely won't be another to replace her within the scope of this conflict. Edit: Also, I don't believe for a second that anything can damage that ship enough to require evacuation...and yet not kill anyone on board. That's just silly.
@@TeenTeenFpv The S-400 has a maximum effective range of 400 km. Crimea is 180km from the location of the fleet, according to his in-game map. It's also a known fact that Russia has had S-400 missile systems in Crimea for quite some time.
All it took to sink Moskva was a surface to surface missile and some bad weather! Goodbye Moskva! Official Russian Sources reporting that Moskva has sank!
They only add assets (including most munitions) once they have pretty solid sources on their actual performance capabilities and success rate. Although, it must be said that munitions capability are some of the most debatable aspects of DCS, as all air-to-air missile ranges and in-flight velocity parameters are classified by their respective countries.
Imagine being a Mig/SU pilot.....flying to provide interception, with nothing on your scope...and then....you get a warning that an AMRAMM has locked onto you from about 15 miles away....and your radar STILL doesn't show any plane... and THEN YOU REALIZE there are F22's close by!!!

No way would it take nearly that many hits to kill a Russian heavy cruiser. When you pack a ship with as many missiles as it can possibly carry you're basically a floating bomb. Just one of those munitions gets hit and the ship is done. Hell look what the Ukrainians were able to do to that amphibious landing ship with just one strike. Sank 1 and was even able to damage 2 nearby ships.
Brilliant entertainment Sir. As per usual you come thru with the Navel request an ting. Appreciated. Then I see the opening bombing run with the B2's, possible bombing missions in the future? Sir..
JDAMs are simple stupid bombs with an aimbot added. They blow a hole where they hit and hit where they are pointed, but they don't magically cause more damage than they would without the aimbot. But of cause the soldiers can aim where they expect it to hurt the most.
Yes they would be sitting ducks. A combination of US missiles and aircraft would over power Russia. The volume of fire would be so high and intense that it would over power Russia.

I really hope you still don’t think the S-400 is some magic system. Even going off of Russian manufacturers numbers, they are only going to get a firing solution at 40-50km or so on American 5th gens. American 5th gens that will be carrying ARM with upwards of 100nmi ranges.
@@jonathanpfeffer3716 No, just want to simulate an attack on Sevastopol as accurately as possible. Since the 2014 Crimean attack was due to Russia’s attempt to maintain Sevastopol, it would be interesting to see if Ukraine could eliminate Sevastopol’s entire fleet, and thus the reason for the original conflict. If Russia no longer needs Sevastopol, why would they continue fighting?
Will you do a TRAKTOR ATTACK episode?
yes
An amphibious ready group (ARG), led by an LPH flat-top and accompanied by an attack submarine could do it. Note that (1) an LPH can carry a number of F-35 VSTOL aircraft, (2) the ARG consists of 6 or more USN ships, and (3) attack submarines can carry both torpedoes and missile systems now.

B2's are not detected much, that is the point. As aircraft they suck, flying wings are terribad.

Yeh, ships are so fragile IRL. Just one hit can kill. Same with British frigates in Falklands.

@SubtoPolecat324 it might have stopped enough to keep the ship alive longer
Will DCS update with the latest and greatest anti ship missiles?
They only add assets (including most munitions) once they have pretty solid sources on their actual performance capabilities and success rate. Although, it must be said that munitions capability are some of the most debatable aspects of DCS, as all air-to-air missile ranges and in-flight velocity parameters are classified by their respective countries.

JDAMs are simple stupid bombs with an aimbot added. They blow a hole where they hit and hit where they are pointed, but they don't magically cause more damage than they would without the aimbot. But of cause the soldiers can aim where they expect it to hurt the most.

I think the Russians would have more air and anti air defence. You've basically modelled them as sitting ducks, minus the one.
Yes they would be sitting ducks. A combination of US missiles and aircraft would over power Russia.
The volume of fire would be so high and intense that it would over power Russia.
@@bighands69 As is the US Navy sitting ducks.. The US Navy and DC & Pentagon would be utterly destroyed if the US ever directly fires on Russia and it wouldn't matter who fired first. The US does not have the capability to shoot down Russia's high speed missiles.
They really don't, they started with next to nothing during the invasion, and are rapidly running out. Russia hasn't mobilized any of its S series into ukraine, my guess is they're scared to lose them. Russia can't replace their losses
They clearly not expecting an coordinated air attack - which seems like a good assumption, so far. Its possible the Ukranians might launch one if a landing is started, they might consider it to be worth a considerable fraction of their remaining air force to kill the troops while at sea.
