I wanted to show you this video about feeling vavavoom on a gloomy day because I think its so important to celebrate yourself even when the weather might not be the best ! Today I will show you some of my favorite local shops that are in my neighborhood here in Brooklyn. It's so important to be to have this routine and connection with some of my local shops here in Brooklyn because it reminds me of Paris so much.

After a very long time , seeing you do a blue eyeshadow look . In India too it’s so normal to walk to the market and buy our fresh vegetables and fish . Have a casual conversation with the vendors , and walk back home . But it is not the same in some parts of the world.
I was particularly taken with the latter part of this video. Yes, it is good to support one’s local shops. But I can also see the comfort it brings to try and replicate the daily routine/shopping that you had in Paris. I sympathise with your ‘home sickness’, having experienced it myself, and your routine gives me encouragement. Nothing has to last forever and I am sure you will be back in your beloved country soon! 😊

That routine is such a big part of me feeling like I am home even though I have never really had that connection with any particular city. Thank you for highlighting that! Every Saturday, I strive to go to local stores and get some freshly baked products and coffee and I love visiting the farmers' markets to get produce as well.

I miss that about my time in Europe as well - it really keeps you connected to your surroundings and your community. Every time I'd return from Europe, I'd be very intentional about recreating those rituals here- but it's more of a way of life over there than it is here, and it's easy to fall into the more disconnected/detached American daily life. I tend to have to travel pretty far for the markets I like, so it's a bit different. To anyone else trying to maintain these routines: the #1 thing I did that helped reinforce my local shopping habits was buying a solid cruiser (bicycle) with big removable baskets for grocery shopping.
Loved the end when you shared shopping small... I remember this from Paris and it is such a beautiful way to live. 💙

Your videos are such a breath of fresh air! I agree everything is so digital and about convenience that I think we end inconveniencing ourselves mentally and end up isolated. I’m glad for technology bc it has helped so many people but taking a trip to local stores(if you can) helps make the environment around you thrive as well.

I love just running out the door and doing some errands around town. I don't take a car and I enjoy the scenery. I live in a smaller area in Canada and it gets cold and snowy but even then on nicer days it's my favorite thing to do. I enjoy all the little interactions out in my community as well. I also love doing a quick more vava voom look before running out the door. Makeup is so expressive and just a way to get a little bit of painting into my day when I don't have time to pull out a canvas
These lockdowns made me think of how valuable is offline nowadays. So I totally understand your idea of supporting local shops, and practicing this offline routine.

Loved this video! Live that you buy from local stores, it dose remind me of back home as well, and going and getting fresh produce and meat or whatever we needed with my mom and I would always also buy some flowers at our local florist that had got to know me by name and anticipated my arrival every week...
I’m glad to see that you are still going places . The mask and everything, I think it’s great to still wear makeup with a mask. You make it look so good. The dramatic blue eye makeup is phenomenal, and flattering to your eyes and skin tone.

YES i loved seeing a bit of your life and I totally relate to needing to get out and go into shops and support the local businesses. I live in LA and it seems amazing to be able to walk everywhere (though I used to live in NY so I do understand). I feel better now about going into shops. I just can't stand living my whole life online though I know we are supposed to stay at home now.

Dear Violette, let me start by how much I adore your work. Your channel is such a soothing moment for me. Your make up is truly art. It is so refreshing and elegant. I wish to ask you if you think it is better to use concealer where you need it rather than foundation (even if it is sheer and only use a little)? You seem to mostly only use concealer as your base. I hardly wear any make up which is ironic due to my love of your channel ☺️ If I wear any make up it is my statement dark lip and my full brows. I do have a bit of redness and perhaps a spot but I can’t decide between foundation and concealer, you absolutely get more for your money in regard to foundation. I would be so grateful for your advice ❤️
