You are the first person I've seen on the sprint idea that will save my controllers from an early death. Like another guy said I wish this video reached more index users, in fact I wish it reached all of them!! GOAT
Thanks for sharing this mate. I really like your sprint option because like you I never cared for needing to push my Index thumb stick down to do this. May also help prolong the life of my controllers. Thanks again and cheers.
The Goat. Im trying to fix the opposite issue with my index controllers. I hate clicking my triggers all the way down s im trying to replicate your directions backwards hopefully it helps😂
bro u are god i have valve index when i played boneworks i loved this mechanic when u need to reject stick two times to run but when i played TWDS&S u need to PRESS stick. in the reviews I saw that they often break with pressing I didn't have one but I was afraid to break it
Any way to do a turbo button? Or hold to repeat? I have a game where I have to click the trigger over and over and my hands start to cramp after a while.
@@LiamFoot exactly this. I need dpad functionality for flat games that I run in VR using UEVR injector. I have heard that I can potentially use index trackpad(s) to simulate dpad. Not sure if this is easy enough to do and wether this is actually right way to go. Would appreciate any advice.
do you have any fixes for an overly sensitive touchpad and joystick? i've found that in some games even having my thumb near the touchpad is enough to set it off, and touching the joystick even without actually moving it, just resting my thumb on it will cause you to start creeping forward when you dont want to be. I've also found in some games the grab function only activates on my index's if i place my thumb on the side of the controller, which makes trying to move or turn with anything in my hands incredibly difficult
Touchpad sensitivity is calibrated when turning the controllers on, so try not touching the touchpad whilst turning on. Sounds like you may have thumbstick drift if you are moving when barely touching the stick - you could try setting a deadzone. Grip also calibrates when turning on, so when turning on, hold the grip but only very lightly, don't squeeze. This may help.
Has SteamVR setup screen changed since this video was made? I go to controller bindings screen and I see a pencil for edit, trash can for delete, but no gear icon to go to the screen to change the sensitivity sliders.
@@LiamFoot Maybe I'm looking in the wrong section. This video jumped straight to the screen that has the gear icon. When you have the time, would you mind walking me through getting to that screen from pressing the system button? I've been into computers for 40 years but for some reason the Steam VR controller setup confuses me. Probably because I'm scared to mess around with it and experiment and risk permanently messing up a game.

This is such a useful video all your videos are so well made man I hope you get so much support new subscriber earned!
Thanks, glad you like them!
Thank you so much for this video! Using toilet paper to stop sweat with messing up the finger tracking has made my experience so much better!
It really does! Huge difference.
this video should have way more views. unfortunately people need to learn how to edit their bindings because too many games have trash bindings
Thank you sir.
Solid informative video.

Interesting. Cheers.
Is there any reason why he has paper wraped on the controllers? Can't think of any reason :D
It is explained at 14:40 in the section labelled "Conclusion (+ Toilet Roll)" 👍
@@LiamFoot Thanks for info :) i had to miss it xD

Pretty cool. Do you know how to do binding to simulate dpad controlls?
To simulate a gamepad, e.g. for a flatscreen game?

very good kontent
Thank you Kombatant.
You bind two inputs into one input, (make left triggers input both left and right at the same time to be exact)?
The left trigger does the left trigger, the right trigger does the right trigger. What part specifically are you asking about?
@@LiamFoot never mind bro I figured it out on my own, ffs

It should always be there as long as you have clicked onto a Grab binding for your Grip.
