Could you stop appearing on my Feedback subscriptions every single time??? You make me suffer. I won’t unsubscribe I’m a masoquist. But yeah about your video. Social media is cancer and is going to make you feel bad. Reading a book is better. I’m just a little bit “demanding”. It’s hard for me to find a book that I like. And with my attention deficit I have to re-read the last 3 pages cuz I was just thinking about something completely different.

Believe me book are the best friends of a person. Once you are into reading, you can escape any anxiety amd any kind of stress. And writing after you read is like cherry on the cake, even writing down your daily goals, your day today life, and even your worries makes you feel lighter.
As I say ," put all your worries on paper and then you'll be as light as an ink on paper."

Bonus tip from a novice reader, if you have recently decided to make reading habit. Read something short or small book like a book size of Coraline by Neil Gaiman. And don't rush it, read a chapter every day or two or more if you can but don't rush to completion.
There is no fun to read just to complete.

Not saying those tips aren't useful, because they certainly are for a lot of people, but also don't be afraid to ignore those tips that won't work for you. For example, I hate listening to audiobooks and do not even consider it proper reading, so #2 isn#t for me. Also, while I agree with #1, in general, I found that bedtime reading doesn't work for me either because I either get so tired that the book tends to fall on my head or I get so into it that I can't stop reading, when I probably would have needed the sleep instead. And lastly, reading several books at the same time can also, as in my case, lead to procrastination, because I sometimes spend more time trying to decide which book to read instead of just reading anything. This all said, the main reason I can't read 100 books a year is probably that I tend to read either Epic Fantasy or history science books, meaning it's several hundred pages of reading per book in general. So it's more like 30 to 50 books for me, which would be ok if not for the fact that it means I miss out on a lot of good stuff :)

My thing is audiobooks and I tend to listen at work. It's crazy but when I'm home, I'm less invested in it and tend to pay less attention.
For audiobook listeners, not be afraid to use the speed up feature especially if it's from a... less enthusiastic narrator. I found it makes it more bearable. Also shaves a few hours for more books. 1.5 x speed seems the be the sweet spot but I've listened at 2x speed on some slower narrators.

    The expense . . .
In the US we have a fabulous library system. Folks, just borrow from the library and only purchase the ones you treasure. I've been doing this for years. It really makes all the difference in the world and keeps you from accumulating "stuff." After years of this, I own hundreds of books ... but only a fraction of what I have read.
Also, if you own an ebook reader, most plug into your library rather easily. Kobo e-readers in particular make it nearly seamless.

One year when I was in the middle of a massive depressive cycle that was spanning years, I started reading books that made me laugh exclusively. By the end of that year, I was feeling better than I had for most of my life and I read around 100 books. I didn't read more than that because I didn't have enough money for more.

1: (This may be straightforward) How does one do the 1st step when they use their phone as an alarm clock?

Otherwise thank you for your helpful video

    - [0:41] 📚 Setting a goal, like reading a specific number of books in a year, can help motivate and structure your reading habit.
    - [1:21] 🔄 Swapping out old habits with new routines, like reading before bed instead of scrolling through social media, can help establish a consistent reading habit.
    - [2:00] 🎧 Listening to audiobooks during commutes or chores can maximize your reading time and allow for multitasking.
    - [3:01] 📖 Experimenting with different genres of books can help you discover new interests and keep your reading experience fresh.
    - [4:22] 📚 Using services like Shortform can provide summaries of books to help you decide if they're worth reading, saving time and money.
    - [5:40] 🔀 Reading multiple books simultaneously can prevent boredom and expose you to a variety of genres and writing styles.
    - [7:07] 🚫 It's okay to abandon books that don't hold your interest or provide value, saving time and allowing for more enjoyable reading experiences.
    - [8:18] 😊 Enjoying the process of reading and exploring different genres is key to building a lasting reading habit.

Tip #4 is the game . CHANGER !!! I have started so many books in the past and lost even more interest in them the more I forced and thought I had to finish that book before starting a new one . That is not true , if it doesn't entrap, you don't read it. If it peeks your interest, give it a few more pages. If you can't understand what they're saying 👏🏾 put 👏🏾 it 👏🏾 down

not trying to be rude or anything but the outro in your videos feels like it's way too fast. I think it would be better if you had an outro which includes video recommandations like 'my previous video' , 'you might wanna see this' etc. Like a cool background maybe colorful or idk whatever you like. A chill music at the end also. Other youtube channels have that and i think it looks good and more like a professional if you know what i mean. This is just an advice don't get me wrong please. Love your content

Please do address the shortcomings of audiobooks. Too many people think listening to an audiobook has the same benefits as reading a book and while you may be consuming the book all the same the cognitive processes are very different, especially since as you mentioned listening to an audiobook is a passive process where actually reading is active. I think this would be an important topic to address in the productivity space as too many people are missing out on the cognitive benefits of reading thinking listening to audiobooks is the same thing.
