I just bought one of these for my 80 year old mother. My father recently passed away and she was completely overwhelmed trying to use their old setup as she uses a DVR from Spectrum and had a roku to watch netflix and prime. It does an amazing job with the cable box/DVR with an IR repeater (FYI any standard IR repeater seems to work). When you add the equipment as a cable box it askes you who your provider is and your location so it knows what channels you have, etc. It's great! She can ask Alexa to tune to whatever channel she wants and it just does it. No more fiddling around with pushing buttons on the remote to change inputs. The only thing she has to break out a remote control for is to do anything with the DVR stuff (ie record a show, view shows she has recorded etc).
@@TechSteve I'd love to, but she's VERY resistant to change! lol I'm also worried that her awful spectrum internet isn't up to the task and sadly they are the only option for her.
Do the 7day trial and she will see the picture quality and unlimited DVR plus the instant on demand may be enough. I added my mother to my account and she absolutely loves it
I have one of these currently in our living room - the 65”. It’s fantastic for movies and RUclips tv content. The only thing I notice after having it for close to a year is that if that memory gets full, the system OS will lock up and you get stuck in applications with the only recourse to unplug the tv for a hard shut down. The picture quality is no LG C2 but for the price point, this is a fantastic budget entry like you stated!
I have the series 4 fire tv its great works fantastic with my xbox has great colors and great sound. We bought 4 of them for the house, and I may get the QLED tv's at some point. They offer amazing bang for the buck and prime shows and movies is wicked good value. I watch so many shows on it.
I am about to pull the trigger on one of these sets .... I also have a few amazon devices in my house currently and the thought of this one coming ready to go is certainly a plus .... thx
Steve, amazing reviews on all TV's. I found a Fire TV on amazon and came to your channel to get your opinion on it. I wanted to buy it through your affiliate link to support your channel. Thank you for your review.
Would there be any compatibility issues if using it to connect an AppleTV 4K through HDMI? Sounds a bit of a stupid question, but just wondering if they didn’t put any kind of restrictions to keep users on the Amazon platform. Seems like a good tv, I like the screen and simple design, just won’t be using any of the actual features as I use AppleTV for streaming content.
Great Review. One question, I have read a lot of people say this has pop up ads you have to click on, is this true and is it a problem? Thanks, Rob....
Hello! Comparing this tv with the Samsung Q60C there are some differences in the picture quality? The Omni is better or the same (or the worst)? Thank you! :)
On the 55' TV, if you turn the "foot stands" INWARD, what is the distance between the two stands? (I ask because I want to put this on a smaller TV Desk.

Thanks Steve for this awesome review! I was kind of looking at this TV and would give it serious consideration if I ever wanted to replace my old 55" 3D TV in the spare room. Heck, the 75" version would be a nice upgrade from what I currently have in the living room, but I think I would want to go OLED in there when the time comes.
Good afternoon friend, how are you? Greetings from Venezuela. Do you know the exact dimensions and weight of the box? since Amazon only gives me the measurements of the TV outside the box. I would appreciate help with the information, it is to calculate the cost of shipping to my country
Hi Steve I follow your channel and enjoy your video reviews a lot. I’ve noticed you guys over in America are going big on tv sizes 😂 I live in an apartment here in the UK and currently have a 43” LG which I’m just considering changing. I’d like a really good mid-range but there doesn’t seem to be that many reviews around specifically for 43” tvs could you recommend any? as we’re into springtime over here it’s about now that new models start to appear and it would be great to have an honest opinion. Thanks again for a great channel 👏
trying to find out how to toogle action smoothing on my firetv. had no luck looks like the clarity settings menu is disabled on my tv will have to complain about this as when you buy a new tv all menus should be active and the manufacturers should stop ripping us off by hiding menus.
This is a 60Hz TV, It has one input that you can consider HDMI 2.1 and it’s eARC but it’s only for Dolby outputs. Native 120Hz TVs supports HDMI 2.1 because the can accept a 4K120Hz signal.
I just bought Fire TV Omni QLED TV, I love it but I can't find how to turn the screensaver off. Whenever I keep the TV on pause for a while the screensaver comes up, I went all over the settings but couldn't find anything.
I have looked everywhere for the screensaver settings and they are not where they are on my other fire tv. Where are they? I want it to show my photos when it times out. Also, if I pause a video, it only stays paused for 5 minutes. There has to be a setting for this. Amazon chat support couldn't explain either.
Yes, and I still don’t see an option for them to automatically display as a screensaver. From the photos app on the tv you can display a slideshow manually, but that’s not what I’m looking for.
Is the tv on the Amazon Alexa app? If you don’t see it there that might be the issue. Some people use their phone number instead of email when setting up if that’s the case you might have to factory reset. Otherwise you can try this amazonfiretv.blog/how-to-personalize-your-fire-tv-screensaver-with-your-own-photos-14db56867e75
