Please help me. I really am doing all I can to help my dad. I took him to get a consult for the valve burn the Doctor was very rude and refused to do the valve procedure on my dad because he was diagnosed with early stage lung cancer a year ago. Had it treated already. First words that came out his mouth was, " Sorry to hurt your bubble , but I am not doing the zephyr valve procedure on your dad. Sorry Kid." Broke my heart. Luckily my dad doesn't speak much English , but I felt the pain of the redness within me. I know their has to be someone who can help , and allow my dad to get the procedure so he can live a more normal life , and do some of the things he loves to do. 🙏
I tried to get the valves but i had collateral ventilation and sent home luckily i saw a article that fixed collateral ventilation in a patience in feb it a glue it's going in a trail soon convent 2 sealent worked recruiting now only two places in Philly now waiting for more might open hopefully Pittsburgh pa the people from pulmonx is helping me going to let me know when it would start recruiting i pray i get in severe emphysema it top lobes fv1 of around 31 this when approved will help millions of people because cv is a very common problem so for now the lucky ones get them im going to see if the va might help a surgery reduction is a big operation but lung transplant surgery approach its the hardest thanks Valerie and mindy ill get there chance
My insurance won’t pay for Combivent they won’t pay for Ellipta they won’t pay for aerosphere. They will pay for proair. I’m in a panic trying to fill prescriptions that are 600 and higher for each one. This is insane
I would never do this, ever. I work with Interventional Pulmonary and have never seen these work well. Frequent pneumothorax, minimal improvement in lung function and often they go on to need transplants. If this lady had success good for her. Maybe one out of ten patients I see are happy. BLVR is a waste in my opinion and a money maker for hospitals.
@@SuzyQ1956 I presume that he/she is talking about the 1% chance of dying that goes along with any serious surgery. That has of course, to be balanced with risk of death from whatever issue the surgery is trying to deal with and last but not least, considerations of quality of life.
It actually is . I know some people and have spoken to people in a COPD group that has had this procedure done. I have been approved as well and I was diagnosed 8 years ago. Now I'm just waiting to get this set up.
Great! Thank you for the few doctors and researchers trying to do the right thing.

I just hope United Healthcare knows it.
Were is the air going. How is it getting out of the chest
You can breathe it out easier. The valve releases the bad air being trapped in the lungs and allows you to exhale the bad air .
