I have every one of these symptoms. I just can't breathe. Loss of sleep due to concentrating on each and every breath. Lips turn blue, need more air! Coupled with chronic kidney failure and congestive heart failure makes for a bad combination. I just keep on keeping on. Plus low blood counts low platelet count means no air when I need it most. When it gets bad I panic and gasp for air like I'm drowning. It's very scary. Oh I heard about making tyme tea with lemon and honey. It's supposed to open your airway and help one breathe. Good luck everybody!

I haven't a reduced appetite with Copd ..but I do have a problem when eating ,as it stretches the stomach which in turn presses on the lungs , restricting airflow even more so than it is already .
So its not the appetite that causes many to cut down on eating its knowing that there's not enough room for expansion once food is eaten.
But many of us choose to eat little and often instead .

Thanks so much for important information. I have COPD and have all these issues. In past year iv had ling infection after lung infection since having a total lung collapse and craineotomy in the right frontal lobe. Went to hospital no symptoms to the brain cancer but got a severe lung infection in hospital and have had trouble shaking it. Pleurisy, pneumonia and lung infections over and over with only a small break of wellness in-between getting sick. I have constant pain in the right lung like it's going to collapse again. Iv been hospitalised a few times with the lung infections and shortness of breath with oxygen dipping to 86 at the lowest at this point. I do take 3 different inhalers. Luckily I have the best gp looking after me and amazing specialists taking care of my cancer which has been in my lings 3 times so far wich hasn't helped my breathing any. I do find this clip to be valuable information to keep as sometimes you forget what the doctors have told you. I can tick off nearly every ailment in the clip, unfortunately. I have a little ball breathing machine to help strengthen the lungs and a most recent machine to help called the flutter to help with breathing also. I do recommend both these products to help with lung exercise. I also recommend singing. I find that to be of great help to clear the mucus and strengthen the lungs also, and it's the most fun to do. 😁 all these things really do help you just have to remember to do them. It won't reverse the COPD but will definatly help things be better along the way and makes a huge difference. I hope I have also helped others talking about my journey a little. Thanks again for the video clip. Stay blessed everyone and have a most funtabulous day! No its not a spelling error i make up words because im crazy like that and twice as fruity on sundays! But I had a habit of inhaling half an onion to support an asthmatic son. So we still do that even though he is grown.
      I think has helped.
But I am now coming to the realization of the problem.

I’ve just hit 60 & was diagnosed with COPD last yr. Started smoking in my early teens. When I was young I was hospitalized once or twice every year for pneumonia of one kind or another. I have always been a active person & this disease has stifled me almost completely to no exercise, what so ever. I’m trying to give up the cigarettes, but it’s hard. I’ve quit so many times but stress always brings me back to the cigarettes. I know if I don’t stop I’m headed for the grave before my time. I’m on 3 inhalers as of now. My question is can the lungs heal after smoking for 42 years of use? I don’t want to die suffocating. I’ve lost consciousness a couple times also & collapsed. It’s very scarey.

I was told I have COPD 12 years ago by a respiratory therapist while I was in the hospital recuperating from bypass surgery. I denied it, but guess what's happening now? About four of the symptoms covered here. That and having my upper left lung resectioned and currently undergoing radiation treatments for the other lung. About a year or so ago I started needing the inhaler they were prescribing for me. My lungs start to feel like they're itching in the top, and then I go on a coughing jag until I bust out the inhaler. Not everybody gets this from smoking, there are other causes, and some people smoke without ever developing COPD. That's like pulling the trigger on a gun to your head that has at least one round chambered....

The feeling of not being able to catch a full breath of air all day is horrible and made me feel very claustrophobic and I wanted to stop before any got worse.

Hi Daniel I quit smoking in 2012 I couldn't understand why after 2years without I was suffocating. I read an article which claimed tobacco leaves fungal spors in the lungs that feed off sugar and that manuka honey helped shift it .I didn't call the writer a liar I had nothing to lose after a fortnight of a teaspoon every morning I no longer had to rest for air. Good luck

Consult several doctors, in bronchial asthma usually spirometry is in good values and responds to sprey plus x-ray etc.
