      To be very honest with you: I would be hesitant to eat raw fish in Bali, Jean. I am not sure how well food is refrigerated over there. A lot of food looks like it is left out, to sit, and sit, and sit.
      Now The Amazon Acai Bowl is a WORK OF ART! I cannot imagine any dish looking more beautiful, actually.
      I have not been to your Instagram page yet but, I hope that you photographed your lovely brunch and put the photos up in your Instagram.
      Ha, ha, ha when you first said "Love Anchor" I thought maybe you were talking about a store that offered things to enhance a relationship in the bedroom. Actually, I am glad to know that it is NOT!

      I have a question for you, please and one other comment:
      How did you and Vitaly get to Canggu? I did not see you guys on a scooter, like I usually do, so that is why I am asking.
      Oh and that octopus, Jean, is the exact portion that you would get in New York or anywhere else in the US! It was not small actually.

    currently in Indonesia it is entering the change of seasons, from the rainy season to the dry season and usually during the change of seasons the temperature will be higher (hotter) as well as for areas in the highlands which usually feel cool and cold will be warmer, the temperature will back to normal or it will be cooler usually from may to july 😁

    • @alistairtaylor4989
      @alistairtaylor4989 Год назад +2

      I personally don’t find that expensive but do know that there are much cheaper options in Bali. The venues and the food all looked very nice so paying a bit more is worth it. I suppose value is relative to where you come from or normally eat and drink. Looks like you both had a great day.

    • @formica.
      @formica. Год назад +1

      We are finding this month in Bali, Canggu is the most upscale and modern, Ubud cheaper, Kuta cheaper yet. For example regular massage 100k vs 80k vs 70k ($6.75/$5.40/$4.70 US). But Bali massage prices are lower than in Saigon or Bangkok. Food is also a lot cheaper in Bali, especially Western food, which is available everywhere. We find meals everywhere between 45k and 75k ($3-$5) and beer under $2.

    • @JeanVoronkova
      @JeanVoronkova  Год назад

      @@alistairtaylor4989 love that you share a similar viewpoint to ourselves. I think mostly here in Bali you get what you pay for... although for the lower end of things like nasi campur in warungs its soooooo yummy even tho its cheap its extremely great value for money from that perspective.

    • @JeanVoronkova
      @JeanVoronkova  Год назад +1

      @@formica. love this input from you thanks! we haven't hung out in Kuta for ages but 70K for a massage is OMG cheap.... n yeah cheaper than Bangkok for sure - we were just there 3 weeks ago and thai massages were still pricier than here in Bali and personally, I enjoy the Balinese soothing strokes more. Street food in Bangkok cd end up being cheaper than here though!

    Has Canggu lost its lustre as a Balinese setting? It looks more like a European Town. A $100 usd won't last that long in Canggu I supposed. In my recent trip to Bali, I was stuck for hours along the way to Tanah Lot via Canggu from Denpasar and happy to stay away from Canggu if I can hehe.

    • @JeanVoronkova
      @JeanVoronkova  Год назад +1

      uhm u wouldn't really see Canggu n think Bali i guess. Not really anymore padi field sceneries except in certain corners and yes its a total Bule Village these days. N yes traffic jams r rife. To see real bali i think Sidemen Lovina etc are better. But most tourists actually probably want to enjoy a balanced mix of bule delights n bali style really...

      ahaaa Chashu is the Japanese version of Char Siew - but they do it differently too - our chinese char siew is red honeyed pork that's inherently sweetish in taste - the japanese chashu is just fatty umami soft larger pieces of pork. very good too but not sweet so dont be surprised

    the fact that this person had only visited stores with english signs and spoke only in english means she really doesn't know what she's doing. you can stretch a lot further if you know local spots and can communicate in the local language. a LOT further. this person is basically getting scammed at every single location. but whatever, helps the local economy i guess.
