“False starts, cramping, poor training, falling… these are things that keep athletes from finishing their race. As we study the kings of Israel, we find few who finish well. This week, we will meet yet another king who started off with strength but got tripped up and never recovered. He will teach us some important lessons of what not to do that will help us run strong to the finish line in our own spiritual journey. In addition to opening God's Word, we will celebrate family communion by intinction where we will have the opportunity to serve the bread and cup to one another.
