I wasn't expecting a chess puzzle at all. Wonder what you get by solving it. I like the look of the grove area. Feels like we are finally out even though we are still in the space station.
If so. Then here is the gist. At 20:32 you pretty much almost won believe it or not. The only important move that you had to do is to take that pawn on the diagonal of the queen, that pawn that is close to become a queen . Once you take that pawn in that position, you preaty much won the game. You need to take later all of the red pawns with the queen and promot your pawns to queens to eventually trap the king, and it check mate🎉
That grove reminds me of the movie "Silent Running" from 1972. No horror there, but equally dystopian in a different way. Also, things don't get any less confusing. right?
As someone that really enjoys movies I'm ashamed to say I don't know that one :( I really like the name though, which makes me curious to check it out. Hopefully one of these days there will be some time for a movie eheh Never less confusing :p
Very different from the original game where the groves were nothing but combat. I took a look at the position in the game on your board. I doubt I would have been able to solve it from your viewpoint, but it was easier laid out on a board. You started correctly but the correct moves are after some spoiler space, even though I suspect it's too late by the time you read this. h7+ Kh8 Kf7 d2 g7+ Kxh7 g8=Q+ Kh6 Qg6++ If you don't do chess notation, you move the rightmost pawn up to check Red (Black). The king goes to the corner. You move your king up one space, black moves their most advanced pawn. Then you move the pawn up next to your king. The black king takes your pawn. You then promote to a queen with check, and get checkmate the next move.
Oh, I see you know your chess :D I shall call on you for future chess puzzles! I'm a bit of a noob as was probably obvious to tell from the video. Though I will say, as you stated very accurately, the perspective the player gets of the board does not favour us in the slightest :/
Ah, no, I meant someone else that I've known for a long time IRL that is quite good at the game, or at least quite knowledgeable about it. Rest assured however friend, that in the future if a chess puzzle is messing with me in a game, you shall receive a request for help :D

Dude, I researched today, I'd the chess puzzle is worth it, and apparently, it freaking does. The reward is extra slot for inventory
Yeah, thankfully I eventually got it with the help of a chess app and Coredumpina XD Definitely worth if for the inventory space indeed :D

Where you referring to me by any chance? If its not to arrogant to assume? About the chess puzzle?
It is very possible :D At what time exactly?
Or what did I say? This playthrough was recorded some time ago, so I don't exactly remember everything from it
@CoredumpedGaming there was a chess puzzle in this video. At roughly 15:05 at this garden area. I kinda forgot, which one. Was delta or beta?
@@CoredumpedGaming you said I'll ask a friend who knows chess, but I don't want to bother him.
