  • The Spring Temple Buddha statue is second tallest statue in the world. Standing at 153 m (503 ft) it is a truly awesome sight to behold. It reminds me of the bronze giant in Jason and the Argonauts but in a nice way. Once you have seen this statue, you won't want to see any other statue (except for the Statue of Liberty), it really is quite amazing.

    It's good to see the original symbol of "Good Fortune" on the Buddha's chest.
    The Nazi regime was destined for failure when they turned such a wonderful symbol into evil.

    • @Cenindo
      @Cenindo 8 лет назад +8

      The "Nazi" version is mirrored compared to this. It's not exactly the same. In any case, the ancient Buddhist (and Jain) use of the symbol has nothing to do with its use by a failed political movement in Europe for a few decades in the twentieth century.

    • @MrInkblots
      @MrInkblots 8 лет назад +14

      1. He knows that the symbol has an ancient Buddhist use.
      2. There isn't a Nazi "mirrored" version. Many times the swastika was/is depicted the same direction as the Nazi version, without any association.

      @Regular Gamer : the Bible said Jesus died for humankind , did he ask everybody whether they wanted him died for them ? I don’t want anybody to die for me , let alone died on a crux - a horrible death .
      Who with good conscience want that ?
      The clerics always propagate that God love humankind so He gave his son to save it . God is supposed to be most powerful , he can forgive or punish humankind as he want . Why didn’t he just forgive humankind instead let his son crucified on the cross ? God is a cruel father .

    • @nguoithichhoasim1233

      @Regular Gamer your answer is not reasonable . This is the remark of a Greek philosopher , named Epicurus , lived in 341 BC , when the theologian created God , most powerful . Omnipotent
      “ If God willing to prevent evil , but not able ,
      Then He is not omnipotent ,
      If he is able , but not willing ?
      Then he is malevolent
      If he is both able and willing ?
      Then whence comet he is ?
      Is he neither able nor willing ? Then why call him God “
      As to Jesus , You can go to Google , type “ Did Jesus exist ? “ by Jim Walker .no.beliefs.com . Anh read .

    Chinese Buddhism (simplified Chinese: 汉传佛教; traditional Chinese: 漢傳佛教; pinyin: Hànchuán Fójiào) refers collectively to the various schools of Buddhism that have flourished in China since ancient times. Buddhism has played an enormous role in shaping the mindset of the Chinese people, affecting their aesthetics, politics, literature, philosophy and medicine.

    • @SuperGreatSphinx
      @SuperGreatSphinx 11 лет назад

      At the peak of the Tang Dynasty's vitality, Chinese Buddhism produced numerous spiritual masters. Scholars classified Chinese buddhism into 7-15 schools, commonly into 10 schools, called the Ten Schools of the Han Transmission of Buddhism (汉传佛教十宗).

    Swastika symbol has 4 arms which, in Buddhism, indicate 4 great truths introduced by Lord Buddha. 4 great truths are called Chotur Arya Sotyani, where Arya means great. The Aryans used to claim themselves as the greatest - the Aryans. While writing " We are the greatest" - they would write - we are Aryans. Later other people thought Aryan is a clan. The Nazi Germans used claimed themselves to be greatest and adopted the symbol Aryans. While for the Buddhists that is the symbol of 4 great truths, for Nazis that is the symbol of great nation.
    Sometimes there is a wheel behind the head of lord Buddha. It is known as Wheel of Dhamma or Buddhist religion. It has 8 spokes indicating Arya Astangik Maggo i.e. Great Eightfold Path. Thus in a Buddha statue there is symbol of 4 great truths in the chest or Heart and wheel of great eightfold path behind the head.

    its a symbol frequently seen in hinduism too... the swastika

    Thank you for the comment. I don't think it is right to juxtapose the KKK's use of the cross with the Nazi swastika. As the latter resulted in the extermination of 10s of millions of people during WW2. Today white nationalist organisations in Europe still use the swastika symbol, there is a far right Greek party that uses a flag that looks like a swastika. It is because of this, the stigma of the swastika will remain in western society for many years to come.
