it's wonderful to see a revival of Buddhism and Buddhist art in China, indeed Buddhism is the only religion of peace, .just sit down and meditate , Namo Amitofo!
@Regular Gamer : the Bible said Jesus died for humankind , did he ask everybody whether they wanted him died for them ? I don’t want anybody to die for me , let alone died on a crux - a horrible death . Who with good conscience want that ? The clerics always propagate that God love humankind so He gave his son to save it . God is supposed to be most powerful , he can forgive or punish humankind as he want . Why didn’t he just forgive humankind instead let his son crucified on the cross ? God is a cruel father .
@Regular Gamer your answer is not reasonable . This is the remark of a Greek philosopher , named Epicurus , lived in 341 BC , when the theologian created God , most powerful . Omnipotent “ If God willing to prevent evil , but not able , Then He is not omnipotent , If he is able , but not willing ? Then he is malevolent If he is both able and willing ? Then whence comet he is ? Is he neither able nor willing ? Then why call him God “ As to Jesus , You can go to Google , type “ Did Jesus exist ? “ by Jim Walker .no.beliefs.com . Anh read .
From what I've heard, meditation is mainly central in Western forms of Buddhism, while being less emphasized the way Buddhism is practiced by most people around the world.
It's good to see the original symbol of "Good Fortune" on the Buddha's chest. The Nazi regime was destined for failure when they turned such a wonderful symbol into evil.
The "Nazi" version is mirrored compared to this. It's not exactly the same. In any case, the ancient Buddhist (and Jain) use of the symbol has nothing to do with its use by a failed political movement in Europe for a few decades in the twentieth century.
1. He knows that the symbol has an ancient Buddhist use. 2. There isn't a Nazi "mirrored" version. Many times the swastika was/is depicted the same direction as the Nazi version, without any association.
Very nice, felt as though I was there. I wish I could find the time to travel to China from Boston someday. Chinese are truly amazing people, they have the rich cultural heritage and also the hard work ethic. The statue is a monument to their talent.
We need Buddha and invaluable timeless wisdom to live a peaceful and meaningful life . That is why we built this monuments we dont need any negative comments from yours filthy hearts please keep back yours dirty comments for yours life .
Jhon Martin you said I have a filthy heart? How can you truly be Buddhist if you believe people have filthy hearts? Deep inside, EVERYONE has a clean heart.
Chinese Buddhism (simplified Chinese: 汉传佛教; traditional Chinese: 漢傳佛教; pinyin: Hànchuán Fójiào) refers collectively to the various schools of Buddhism that have flourished in China since ancient times. Buddhism has played an enormous role in shaping the mindset of the Chinese people, affecting their aesthetics, politics, literature, philosophy and medicine.
At the peak of the Tang Dynasty's vitality, Chinese Buddhism produced numerous spiritual masters. Scholars classified Chinese buddhism into 7-15 schools, commonly into 10 schools, called the Ten Schools of the Han Transmission of Buddhism (汉传佛教十宗).
After the turmoil of the Cultural Revolution, Chinese Buddhism is growing again, with ancient monasteries being rebuilt, and more people choosing to take ordination as monks and nuns.
Swastika symbol has 4 arms which, in Buddhism, indicate 4 great truths introduced by Lord Buddha. 4 great truths are called Chotur Arya Sotyani, where Arya means great. The Aryans used to claim themselves as the greatest - the Aryans. While writing " We are the greatest" - they would write - we are Aryans. Later other people thought Aryan is a clan. The Nazi Germans used claimed themselves to be greatest and adopted the symbol Aryans. While for the Buddhists that is the symbol of 4 great truths, for Nazis that is the symbol of great nation. Sometimes there is a wheel behind the head of lord Buddha. It is known as Wheel of Dhamma or Buddhist religion. It has 8 spokes indicating Arya Astangik Maggo i.e. Great Eightfold Path. Thus in a Buddha statue there is symbol of 4 great truths in the chest or Heart and wheel of great eightfold path behind the head.
In China there are so many wonderful sites mainly man made worth seeing. Really amazing. Buddha's messages require to be followed by the people of all races, cultures, origins, irrespective of where he/she belong to.
The Buddhism was destroyed by the brahmins before 12th century of the invasion of islam. Today's india is a secular country with more than 70% are hinduism. Today's india has nothing to do with Buddhism. Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, China, Japan, Korea, Tiawan, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia is Buddhism countries.
Thank you for the comment. It is really is worth travelling to China, there are truly some amazing sights to see. You will need a year to see everything, as its a very big country.

Buddha showed u the right path whether you go on that path or not it's up to you, by the way every human being have Buddha nature that's compassion, if you see someone is dying firstly we never what his caste, nationality or race we feel sympathy that's the Buddha nature, n Buddha said you are your own master that's mean you should struggle your self to become enlightenment or nirvana,
@hererd5 I'm not sure as there was building work being carried during the visit. There is another level where one can stand next to base of the statue. It would be great if you could go to top like the Statue of Liberty in New York.
It is a swastika used by many religions in Asia such as Hinduism and Buddhism. The German Nazis adopted this symbol in 1920, as a result many people associate this symbol as being evil.
Hi I was there last month and it's beautiful. The constructions now are pools and spas. I want to know the name of those places. There are still some constructions not finished yet in the Buddha statue. Electric stairs and buildings.
There are approximately 500 millions buddhists follower out of mainland China. China alone has buddhists follower minimally between 700 millions to 1 billion nowaday. If we count Chinese buddhists to the rest, Buddhism will have most follower in the world.
i really wish you were right my friend. But there's people in china who are culturally buddhist and others who are more spiritual and orthodox. It's just like with christianity, they think it's all about you going to church makes you a christian. Most chinese are atheists or seculars.
Goorney Hey I appreciate the info on the camcorder. I want to take video of my travels and I think this model camcorder will be great . I just gotta save up because it's a little pricey lol
@Goorney Mainly, the "nazi sign" which is commonly known as the "Buddha's Mark" is more commonly found on Buddhas. I really hate the nazis for using the symbol.
Glad you like the video. The Spring Temple Buddha is truly one of great man made wonders of the world.
